Most Well Known Relative (1 Viewer)

My 11x great grandparents were the 9x great grandparents of Hugh Hefner. This has yet to get me invited to the Playboy Mansion.

I actually have a ridiculous bloodline under Ancestry.com. If you have one European King in your bloodline, you end up with links back to almost every important person back to the Roman Empire.

But seeing how that doesn't amount to a whole lot of value, my cousin is a fairly successful Country artist in Austin, TX.
Which artist?

My family ancestry is terrible. I'm the most famous person of the last several generations and I'm only mildly important in a city that isn't all that big.

On my Mom's side, my great-great uncle is Clyde Barrow, from Bonnie and Clyde fame. I have been to the Barrow family reunion a few times, and a lot of his direct descendants ended up in law enforcement. Go figure.

On my Stepdad's side, my great-great-great uncle is Rabbit Maranville, baseball Hall Of Famer. Never a great player, but he played 23 seasons and accumulated a ton of stats and had 8 top 20 MVP finishes.

He was also the answer on an episode of "Happy Days" where Richie goes on a quiz show, answers a lot of baseball questions, and is then provided the answers to the big jackpot question. Rather than cheat, however, Richie intentionally gets the Rabbit Maranville question wrong, losing out on the money but keeping something much more valuable - his integrity.

I'm related to John Alden too. What's up Brother?

My kids through their mom's side are related to William Rysdyk, the owner of the famous trotter Hambletonian. So when people ask them about famous relatives they say they are related to a famous horse.
