I remember that thread. I don't intend to read it again. It was pretty messy and I don't remember any specific post you had that explained it very well. I hoped you could do it here without the scandal. Maybe it's impossible to do because people will react to you. I don't agree with you but I would like to get your point of view. I'm going to hold off judgment until more facts come out.

As of right now, there are no accusations and no allegations from the police report. It paints all three guys in a bad light (Kaepernick, Lockett, Patton) Kaepernick the most, because his name is biggest.

I wish these guys (young, successful athletes, not just these three) would do a better job of asking "what could possibly go wrong?" This oversight may cost Kaep millions in his negotiation process.

I seem to have mixed you up with another poster in this thread where tats specifically were an issue, from previous threads where you may have both been in and came to similar conclusions, but for different reasons. Sorry for that, but I don't agree with your conclusions, or using the word thug.I think of it in terms of set theory Venn diagrams. Think of the set of those scholar athletes you know of who had 4.0s in high school. Than the set of thugs (not people who you find have an objectionable look or don't care for their style or how they express themselves, but actual thugs).

I don't see those sets intersecting or overlapping a lot. Not saying never, just atypical.

The question I asked you to consider was, in your experience, how many 4.0 students turn out to be "thugs". And how many "thugs" had 4.0 GPAs? We don't have to wait for that, since the answer can simply be found within your experience. If you know of no exceptions, or only extremely rare ones, that is a kind of answer.

I really would have no idea what the GPA was/is of the people I look at and would consider to be thugs.

I could be off, I don't have the stats on numbers of students with 4.0s, or of that percentage of the population that is a "thug" (whatever that means), but my sense is the former group is much smaller than the latter group. Playing simple percentages, that would make a member of the second group less likely to also be a member of the first group.

There's definitely a story, but unknown if it's related to a crime. People can wind up in hospitals even if no crimes have occurred. In fact, it happens all the time. We call them "accidents".

Drinking too much and passing out qualifies as one. I'm not saying that is or is not what happened, only that without more information, it's anyone's guess.

I think the suspicion is more about what happened between the time she lost consciousness and regained it in the hospital...allegedly. She says he left the room without having sex and then, after the other guys peep in, she goes unconscious.

I'm guessing she's alleging that someone had sex with her while she was out of it and thus lacked her consent to do so. That would be rape. Maybe an element of alleging that she was involuntarily drugged as well. Most people don't pass out from a bong hit and a couple of shots.

Why she thinks sexual contact happened and why she thinks it was CK while she was supposedly unconscious are huge questions. Not impossible to prove. But at the same time, difficult enough that I'd not jump to conclusions about anything at this point in the process.

Always a chance he did it. Always a chance he didn't. No way of knowing right now.

If it's not related to a crime, do people call the police regarding "accidents" that don't involved motor vehicles? There were several occasions where I passed out from boozing (yeah, I'm gonna go with boozing) in my reckless years. I never called the police to file an incident report, regardless of whether I was over or under 21.

So, yeah, the fact that the girl got the police involved to admit to hitting a bong does kinda separate it out from your normal, garden variety "I got high/drunk and passed out last night" kind of stories.

I don't expect anything to come of it given the police response to TMZ's report. But it's an odd story and will attract attention when celebrities are involved. Maybe the girl is crazy, but I doubt she calls the police every time she passes out for partying.

Updating previous reports, Miami Police spokesperson Rene Pimental said there is no evidence of a crime or sexual assault involved in the incident involving San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick and WR Quinton Patton and Seattle Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette. Pimental said the woman involved asked for an incident report. None of the players have been questioned, arrested or charged with any crimes.

So no evidence. No one is charged, arrested or questioned yet, but according to many Kaepernick is a rapist thug. I just don't understand how it got blown to that proportion. Is this TMZ's fault, or are people just hearing what they want to hear because of predisposed hate for Kaepernick?
