Movies You Never Get Tired of Watching (1 Viewer)

A few of mine that haven't been mentioned yet...

No Country for Old Men

The Book of Eli

Rogue One

Mean Girls :bag:

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Bernie

Arrival

I love Jojo Rabbit but it's hard to say that I never get tired of it because I've only seen it twice.

Crappy ones....

Empire Records
Hackers
Antitrust
Pool Hall Junkies
Bookies
Urban Legend

The movies I don't get tired of are the ones that make the best background noise

I would probably say I never get tired of watching any movie I truly like.

As for those I do find myself watching every time they're on, because they are on a lot:

Godfather I and II
Shawshank
Jaws
Bloodsport
Once Upon a Time in America
Forrest Gump
The Warriors

Caddyshack
A Few Good Men
The Big Lebowski
Tin Cup
Star Wars (A New Hope and Empire)
Reservoir Dogs
Old School
Office Space

I know the thread asks for movies, but my most rewatchable media entertainment is The Wire.

My Most watched films

Empire Strikes Back
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Shawshank
Back to the Future
LOTR
Groundhog Day
The Martian
Limitless (Bradley Cooper)
Hoosiers
Open Range

There are way too many to list them all but some that haven't been listed yet

  • Fletch
  • Rounders
  • Trading Places
  • Young Frankenstein
  • Sneakers
  • Major League
  • Beverly Hills Cop
  • Gladiator
  • The Sting
  • Christmas Vacation

The list is very long.
Yeah, I agree with you and Zamboni above. If I really like a movie I will watch it over and over and probably not tire of watching it over the years. From day to day, sometimes I am not in the mood for a genre movie, but Back to the Future and Karate Kid are 2 I would watch any day any time. Movies like Jaws or Boogie Nights or Hereditary or The Cable Guy sometimes I am not in the mood for that day (but will forever me in my collections).

Jaws can be watched on any day. The other's I could understand. But not Jaws. If it gets stumbled upon I will finish watching it every time.

ChatGPT says that this list says this about me (and I'd say it's pretty accurate, if a bit generic):
You’re thoughtful, emotionally intelligent, and appreciate high-stakes human stories, whether they unfold in space, war, childhood, or dreams. You're inspired by transformation, honor, and resilience. You admire craft and rewatch movies that keep giving on multiple viewings—both emotionally and intellectually.

I can't say I never get tired of watching certain movies. I will rewatch some many times but eventually I start to skip to my favorite parts.

Of these, not listed already:
Saving Private Ryan
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Goodfellas
Starship Troopers
The Jerk

I rarely watch movies more than once, much less dozens of time. The few movies that I've seen multiple times are:
The original Night of the Living Dead
Jaws
Godfather 1&2
Goodfellas
Die Hard
Various Clint Eastwood movies
Monty Python and the Holy Grail

that's probably it

See, we could totally have movie nights. That's a great list. Unless you try to slip Tombstone or Christmas Story in the player, then I walk out. ;) Hoosiers and Miracle will just get bored grumbles.

There are a lot of movies that if I catch on tv will leave on, esp if they just started or haven't seen in awhile.
There are a lot that if I see on, I will check to see where they are in the movie and maybe watch for specific scenes.
I might also flip back and forth between multiple movies depending on what scenes are coming up.

As my kids have gotten older and into movies - Few Ive been rewatching a lot the past few years with them. They all seem to like Jaws the best.

Jaws
Almost Famous
Goodfellas
Shawshank
Royal Tenenbaums

My partner makes fun of me because I'm just like her dad.... War and westerns.

Blackhawk Down
Saving Private Ryan
Band of Brothers
Tombstone
Heat

I'm sure there are others, but those are the first that came to mind.

Casablanca

Casablanca
This looks the the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

There is one line I try to insert into conversation more than others:

He's just like any other man, only more so.
I saw it for the first time about 5 years ago. It was fine. I don't really have a desire to watch it again.
Part of the appeal for me is the circumstances around which it was made, while the fate of the war in Europe was still in doubt, but there's some subtle humor in the writing, like the quote I listed, that I haven't gotten enough of yet...

CPT Renault: I'm shocked, SHOCKED to find that there's gambling in this establishment!
Casino employee: Here are your winnings Captain.

Rick Blaine is a great reluctant hero;

Captain Renault: What in heaven's name brought you to Casablanca?

Rick: My health. I came to Casablanca for the waters.

Captain Renault: The waters? What waters? We're in the desert.

Rick: I was misinformed.

Yvonne: Where were you last night?

Rick: That's so long ago, I don't remember.

Yvonne: Will I see you tonight?

Rick: I never make plans that far ahead.

Hoosiers and Miracle will just get bored grumbles.
blasphemous
I like watching sports. I think sports movies are boring. I don't get the draw.
Agreed. Never saw Hoosiers, Field of Dreams or Bull Durham. I generally don't like sports movies.
I did like Miracle though.
Of them, Miracle is one of the better ones. I would just rather watch a documentary about the events or the actual replay of the games. Not terrible, I'd just rather watch a different type of movie.

Casino
Goodfellas
The Town
Shawshank Redemption
Scarface
Gran Torino
Tombstone
Old School
Wedding Crashers
Animal House
Superbad
