LT: 1310 all purpose yards; 19 TD's ; 'nuff said

Peyton: 2527 PassYds; 20 TD's (2 Rush); Undefeated.

Other: yeah...right

Not a huge fan of his, but I have to go with the undefeated one. To lose your top running back and playing with that defense, and still be undefeated is more impressive.

Sand Diego would still probably be a solid team with Michael Turner at RB. Indy wouldn't be any where near the same team with Jim Sorgi at QB.

I basically agree with this - but in reality you'd have to replace LT with an average starting NFL RB and Manning with an average starting NFL QB to fully make that comparison. But, I'd have the same conclusion. However, if the Colts get the #1 seed I'd expect Manning to win the MVP and LT2 to win Offensive Player of the Year.

under the assumption the Eagles turn it around, McNabb is certainly in this discussion, and at this point gets my vote. he means more to his team than Peyton does, and has fewer tools to work with.

Tough call on Manning and LT. However, I have one to add in the "other" category.

Marques Colston.

I don't own the guy, but the numbers he's putting up are sick.

I think Drew Brees is more valueable to the Saints than Colston is.

:goodposting: exactly my thoughts

I agree....but I wouldn't be shocked to see McNabb get comeback player of the year, Colston to get Rookie of the year, Tomlinson to get offensive player of the year, and Peyton to get MVP.

peyton, no question. they're undefeated, they have no defense and they have a RBBC thats barely getting it done. noone wants to say it b/c its more of the same...but its just the truth.

if the eagles come back and win out though, i'd be glad to consider mcnabb or westbrook ;)

I'm surprised that LT2 is more than a 2 to 1 choice here.

Let's assume this for fun:

LT2 breaks the rushing record for TD's in a season

The Indianapolis Colts go undefeated

I am a betting person and if both of those things occur, I'd bet that Peyton Manning wins the MVP award. So until they lose, he's my choice. No team has ever gone undefeated and no QB in the league works more than Manning, you can't tell me if they go undefeated that he doesn't get MVP.

Depends how good his numbers are, though if they go undefeated I'm sure he's not having too many bad games. There is no way the Colts lose more than 2 games. But if LT goes for 2500+ total yds and breaks the record, he has to win it.

Mcnabb is having a great year but I don't even think he's the MVP of that team. You take Westbrook out of that offense and they're not even a shell of what they are right now.

The week Westbrook was out McNabb went 16/30 for 288 yds 2 TDs 0 INTs and rushed for 15yds and 2 TDs.

LT2 if he beats the TD record for the year that SA set last year.

What about Defensive POY? I have to say Urlacher. Best D in league, 8-1 and he has made some terrific plays (Edge fumble in Cards game; Int against Niners). Julius Pepper is the only other defensive player making enough impact but he has not helped his team win games like Urlacher has (see AZ game).

If anyone on the Eagles gets it, it should be Westbrook. I think I'd vote for him, because the eagles are done without him, but both LT & PM are good choices.

I am surprised how badly Tomlinson is winning this one by. I think this is a function of the fact that people on this board like Tomlinson more, and of course he's more valuable from a fantasy perspective.

By traditional NFL voting - there is no doubt that at this point in the season Manning would win. Now whether it's deserved or not is open to debate, but I think the onus would be on those who voted for Tomlinson to explain why he deserves it more.

Manning has the better team record (9-0 vs. 7-2), has to do it with a worse D, and has to run the whole offense/call plays whereas Tomlinson does not (which is why QBs usually win over RBs). Now - you could argue that Tomlinson has less of a supporting cast on offense, but I don't think it's by a huge margin. I guess the biggest difference would be having Harrison AND Wayne instead of just Gates. Rivers and Addai seem fairly comparable. I don't know which O-line is better - but I think both Manning and Tomlinson make their lines look better than they are.

I think you have to put Champ Bailey in the discussion for Defensive POY. He has had some huge drive stopping INT's for the best scoring defense.

..and watch the SB at home. As a Colt/Manning fan, I hated to go with LT but IMO he deserves it a LITTLE more - definitely not by the 3-1 margin going on here. LT's last few "flashy" weeks have probably tipped it way too much.
