I basically agree with this - but in reality you'd have to replace LT with an average starting NFL RB and Manning with an average starting NFL QB to fully make that comparison. But, I'd have the same conclusion. However, if the Colts get the #1 seed I'd expect Manning to win the MVP and LT2 to win Offensive Player of the Year. Not a huge fan of his, but I have to go with the undefeated one. To lose your top running back and playing with that defense, and still be undefeated is more impressive. Sand Diego would still probably be a solid team with Michael Turner at RB. Indy wouldn't be any where near the same team with Jim Sorgi at QB.
I think Drew Brees is more valueable to the Saints than Colston is.Tough call on Manning and LT. However, I have one to add in the "other" category.Marques Colston.I don't own the guy, but the numbers he's putting up are sick.

I agree....but I wouldn't be shocked to see McNabb get comeback player of the year, Colston to get Rookie of the year, Tomlinson to get offensive player of the year, and Peyton to get MVP.under the assumption the Eagles turn it around, McNabb is certainly in this discussion, and at this point gets my vote. he means more to his team than Peyton does, and has fewer tools to work with.
This thread is MVP of the NFL, not Rookie of the Year.Tough call on Manning and LT. However, I have one to add in the "other" category.Marques Colston.I don't own the guy, but the numbers he's putting up are sick.
Depends how good his numbers are, though if they go undefeated I'm sure he's not having too many bad games. There is no way the Colts lose more than 2 games. But if LT goes for 2500+ total yds and breaks the record, he has to win it.I'm surprised that LT2 is more than a 2 to 1 choice here.Let's assume this for fun:LT2 breaks the rushing record for TD's in a seasonThe Indianapolis Colts go undefeatedI am a betting person and if both of those things occur, I'd bet that Peyton Manning wins the MVP award. So until they lose, he's my choice. No team has ever gone undefeated and no QB in the league works more than Manning, you can't tell me if they go undefeated that he doesn't get MVP.
Mcnabb is having a great year but I don't even think he's the MVP of that team. You take Westbrook out of that offense and they're not even a shell of what they are right now.under the assumption the Eagles turn it around, McNabb is certainly in this discussion, and at this point gets my vote. he means more to his team than Peyton does, and has fewer tools to work with.
The week Westbrook was out McNabb went 16/30 for 288 yds 2 TDs 0 INTs and rushed for 15yds and 2 TDs.Mcnabb is having a great year but I don't even think he's the MVP of that team. He gets my vote as wellBrees![]()

Brees has to be considered here. Look what he's doing for that team. I would say LT and Manning are 1 and 2 but Brees can't be far behind. He gets my vote as wellBrees![]()

I think you have to put Champ Bailey in the discussion for Defensive POY. He has had some huge drive stopping INT's for the best scoring defense.Sweetness_34 said:LT2 if he beats the TD record for the year that SA set last year. What about Defensive POY? I have to say Urlacher. Best D in league, 8-1 and he has made some terrific plays (Edge fumble in Cards game; Int against Niners). Julius Pepper is the only other defensive player making enough impact but he has not helped his team win games like Urlacher has (see AZ game).
