If got a "reset" weekend coming up in two weeks. Should be fun.I think it was body for life that recommended one binge day a week - not a total slop fest, but much higher calories - just to reset your metabolism, plus it gives you something to look forward to and remind me of how much of a slob I feel like when I eat lots of greasy food.'pacman_fl said:Almonds is my "go to" during the day and I have increased the fruits and vegetables a bit. More wouldn't hurt and I realized that recently - so thanks for confirming. I will try varying the calories. Someone said earlier they "tricked" their body by doing a binge and going over for a day or 2 - sounds similar. I think I would personally like that as well. Appreciate the thoughts.'eoMMan said:For fiber, look at nuts and most fruits/veggies....especially broccoli and apples.Regarding the plateau, I heard of some people having success by varying up the calories. For example, let's say you are on a strict 1300 calorie diet and eat exactly 1300 each day. You could switch it up by doing 1000 on day, 1600 the next, then 1100, and then 1500....or something like that. I can't vouch for it personally but it works for some people.Another option to break through the plateau is hard core lifting and HIIT.'pacman_fl said:I am at a point where my daily goal is 1330 calories (set my goal to lose 1.5 pounds/week) but I usually finish between 1200 & 1300 (don't remember going over) but I am on my 2nd period of plateauing (I am down to 175 from 195 and am 5'9'). My wife and I recently added 3 days/week of some home cross fit (I am up to 50 kettle bell swings, weightless squats, pushups and situps and am working up to 5 minutes of each) - this is in addition to me walking 4 miles/day for 3 or 4 days per week. I assume the plateaus are from muscle mass but confirmation would be nice. Any "tricks" to get past these points? Also, I have had the feeling the last 2 weeks that I don't have enough fiber going on (the last couple of days were better) - any good suggestions on fiber for the diet and not supplements?

I use to be a consistent once per day, but now I can go 2 or 3 days. I pretty much went cold turkey from eating junk to eating very healthy. You would think with all the fruit I have been eating, mostly grapes and apples, that this wouldn't be a problem.
