If she's game for a little Schtick and occasional in appropriateness, I think this group could provide some rea value and insight.Is she interested on working with Arizona Ron for her next screenplay?

I agree. There are a lot of smart and clever people here if you can filter thru the effluvia..I do not understand the Arizona Ron reference. Please explain like i'm one of Tanner's funny-named students.

That's what bothers you about the opening scene?! the foley "grunt." what about the stupid rocking van. it drives me insane! in any event, thanks for watching.

Wow. Thanks for venturing in here Nena, I didn't think you'd do it.I also hated the rocking van. So trite at this point. I was thinking maybe have it rock just a little bit, then a THUD and the hand falls out the door. Of course, knives don't make thuds...

Hey Everybody! You were all so nice back in January when many of you watched my short film called Stray and "liked it" on Facebook. I can't express how much I appreciated your support! It really inpsired me to get my butt in gear and get it finished. I've been working on it relentlessly since then, but it looks like the only way I can get it done the way I think it needs to be done is to direct it myself. The only way I can do that is to raise the money through Kickstarter, so last week I've taped a video and am editing it now. Because Kickstarter is a one shot thing I want to makde sure I do a really good job on it. Would any of you mind looking at the pitch and give me feedback? I plan to finish editing this weekend and would like to launch the campaign end of next week. Also, if any of you are familiar with Kickstarter strategies, like what time of week is optimal for the launch, etc, I'd appreciate that, too.

Hey Nena. Exciting to see you making headway. $50K to get it started seems low. Doesn't a camera cost that much alone?

I do not know much about Kickstarter, but I'm sure that there are some around here who do. Isn't the basic premise that you set an amount and if you raise that much you get it for your project and if you don't reach your goal you get bubkus?

 
Didn't know a lot about KStarter either. Learning as I go... It's a pain in the butt process but worth it if you do reach your goal, if not, as you said, nada!

That's why I'm asking you guys for feedback on the pitch video I shot - the most important part of the whole campaign. that alone was like making a mini-movie! lights, camera, long edit session. So let me have it especially those who are familiar with KS. Would love to know how it rates...

And yes you are right about making a feature film for $50K - the camera alone can cost well over that. BUT I I'm calling in favors and my brilliant director of photography just nabbed a full camera package for our project... a brand new SONY F55! PRobably the best Digital camera on the market.

The Kickstarter project is looking really good. She's at $38,150. If she hits 40K an angel investor has promised to pay the final $10K. Since the deadline is Sunday, I'm certain she will make it. If anyone wants to be part of the winner, the link is here:

I will do a drawing this weekend for the AO stay I promised in the original post.

 
Thanks Cos! we're now up to $38,500.00! 53 hours left. the upside to all of this is the weight I've lost the past 28 days. can't eat, sleep... I can drink wine, that's about it. very excited to say the least! thanks everybody for walking me thru this! and yes, we're going to make a movie!!
