Your rankings look almost exactly like mine uptop except I have Upton 2nd, Phillips 3rd, Cano 4th, Roberts 5th. I also have Kendrick 6th but other than that our rankings are similar.

i'm not sure why people are so down on kinsler.

this is a 2B that could very possibly go 25-25 (30-30 isn't out of the question) and with a decent uptick in AVG would be elite.

sure, he hit 9 HRs in april, got hurt, and struggled for a few months, but he was on fire at the end of the season again.

he gets penalized for for hitting 9 HRs in one month, but they still count, right?

to me, it just points to his upside.

i'd rather have him than cano or roberts.

he may seem risky, but he's the kind of guy who can help win a league for you.

I think you're expecting too much from Jeff Kent and Kaz Matsui, I also like Aaron Hill and Freddy Sanchez over some of the guys toward the end of your list. I also have Phillips and Upton flip-flopped. Good list though.

All indications are Kinsler would be hitting 7th in a weak lineup. That means low RBI totals, low Runs, and prob a low average anyway. Youd be crazy to take him ahead of cano or roberts (obviously you could wait for him but Im just saying hypothetically).

Matsui I agree. And I also agree wheres Hill. But Kent should still put up solid #s for a 2B. Is .270-25-80-70-0 out of the question for him? Thats almost a lock IMO. What guys after him can put up #s like that as a 2B? Maybe Johnson and thats it.

Probably right on, but the upside is there...and I caught one of his HR's during his torrid April, so I may be biased...

That year his age finally catches up to him is coming fast. I don't want to draft him that year, which could be this year. I'd rather take a shot on Aaron Hill, Kelly Johnson, or Sanchez later. I haven't had to deal with the situation yet though. In my drafts I have shorn up a Weeks/Kendrick combo and the other in which we don't start a MI I got Cano.

Need to know if this is for next year only or dynasty? My top 3 are...Utley is #1Cano would be 2nd for me (.953 OPS in the 2nd half)Brandon Phillips (great power speed combo)

From Rotowire via ESPN:"Manager Ron Washington indicated that Kinsler could emerge as the leadoff hitter against both left and right-handed pitching, the Dallas Morning News reports.Spin: "There's a chance of that," Washington said. "I didn't think of Ian as the prototypical leadoff guy last year, but he changed my mind. We'll just wait and see what happens. I'm not going to make up my mind after one or two games." Kinsler is already assured of leadoff at-bats against left-handed starters, but could hit as low as seventh or eighth against righties if he doesn't emerge as the leadoff option."

2B is one of the shallowest positions this year. There's a major dropoff after Utley; the next tier all come with significant question marks. Ellis, Hill, Matsui, Durham & Castillo are pretty close to the guys at the end of your list.

If you don't get one of the top guys, it might be better tactically to draft a SS and MI/SS before you bottom feed on one of the poorer 2B.

Sleeper Alert...White Sox SS/2B Alexei Ramirez (Cuban defector...4-5, 2 doubles, 3 runs in debut....)

I'll be surprised if he isn't the opening day 2B, I guess he hit over .400 in the Cuban league...

Jeff Baker is another early Spring sleeper. He's always hit in the minors, although everybody rakes at Colorado Springs. He's never played 2B as a professional but is supposedly one of the prime candidates for the vacant job along with glove man Jayson Nix.Based on his unimpressive minor league stats, I'm skeptical about Nix's ability to hit in the Majors and with Taveras, Torrealba and the pitchers spot, the Rocks have some dead spots in the lineup.

Pre-Tulo SS Clint Barmes and the late Marcus Giles are other options.

i've always assumed that, at some point, the rangers would get their heads out of their butts and leave kinsler in the 1 or 2 hole.he bounced around last year too and still almost scored 3 more runs than cano (96) in almost 150 fewer ABs.i'd much rather have him a round or 2 later than cano.

I hoping for a breakout spring from Baker...as for Ramirez, the guy can simply rake...probably need to stop hyping him at this point or his status as a sleeper will start to change...

How can you put guys like Johnson, Kendrick, Hudson, Kent etc over Polanco? I think Polanco is an absolute steal in drafts for where he is going.

Polanco is a nice player in real life but he's a two category contributor in fantasy. Johnson, Hudson and Kendrick offer more upside in HR & SB, Kent in HR & RBI.Polanco won't hurt you, especially if you can get him late as a MI. But I doubt he'll slip that far because of his .341 AVG last year.
