My Sleepers for 2006 (1 Viewer)

Ironically, I yawned when I clicked on this thread.

Since we're talking deep sleepers, there's really not a whole lot of critiqueing that can go on. I like Frerotte as a sleeper for some pretty obvious reasons.

No need to act like an ###. I was yawning as I clicked on the thread. It had nothing to do with your content.Feel free to continue having your iFeelings hurt though.
Easy tiger, I was just playing.

QB

-Josh McCown - Many will right him off with the "Kitna is starter propaganda", but he was able to put up big numbers in Arizona.

-Craig Nall - Had some good fill-in time for Favre in Green Bay. Trying to prove that GB made a mistake not making him the Favre successor.

-Gus Frerotte - If Bulger goes down early, Gus knows the offense well.

RB

-Cedric Cobbs - A popular sleeper for obvious reasons.

-Arlen Harris - Now in Detroit with Martz Madness, he will assume duties if KJ falters.

-Vernand Morency - IMO, the most talented back behind DD. Coach talk about him not being a "zone" runner are premature.

WR

-David Boston - Remember him, he will get a shot if healthy in TB.

-Tyrone Calico - I know, it is getting old with this guy. Injuries have hampered him for two seasons though. Maybe, just maybe, he stays healthy this year.

-Doug Gabriel - Forgotten man in OAK. Porter not happy talk may give Gabriel more opportunities.

Pick'em apart, add your own if you like.
thanks for sharingHow much do injuries scare ya with the WRs you listed?
To me, a sleeper is a player (somewhat under the radar) who has the potential to make FF impact if given an opportunity. The WRs I chose may need an injury to see that opportunity, but have the potential to do some good things.
sorry for not being clear. Do their own injury history's scare ya at all?
IMO, that is what makes them sleepers. I am not necessarily saying any of these guys with be drafted (I am not planning on drafting them myself), but I feel if they do stay healthy/get an opportunity, they have a shot to produce. "Deep Sleepers" would have been a more appropriate title.

Glenn at WR37 seems low too. Of course TO is there, but Glenn will still be a legit starting WR in most leagues.
She always gets hurt doesn't she? Well she could be good trade bait if she starts strong. She's excellent speeding to a soft spot in a zone over the middle and extremely effective at continuing drives this way. I like how Parcells uses him and don't think this changes with TO around.
Always? She's played 13 or more games in 5 of the past 7 seasons.

Conversely, She's only managed to play 16 games twice, in the past 7 years. It's all in how you look at her.

Mark Clayton WR TB is my favorite value sleeper WR this year - 1 year removed from rookie stud status. More focused now and Simms is getting better. Grudens offense is ready to take off with the young triple threat he has on board.

Might want to make that Michael Clayton. Mark is still in Baltimore.

I agree with the Brooks vote.

look at this, according to FBG, he was ranked 6, 6, 5, 8, 16. until last year, this guy was consistanly a top 5 or 6. and in a 12 team league that is right where you want your qb. especially if you are taking him in the 8th round or later. personally i look at last year is the anomoly. first of the whole hurricane thing, then no good rb with mccallister hurt and horn flat out sucked and was hurt for most of last year. this year he as a top 10 RB in jordan and moss to throw to.

the team is not solid on Defense, so they should throw a lot. i am taking him in every league i am in. look for him to return to the top 10 QB.

hey, keep this in mind, K collins was th # 9 qb last year and he was benched at the end of the year brooks should be able to match his numbers and also brooks can add 300 rushing yard (howeverr, he may also add a few more INTS, but i have him as a top 10 or better QB for next to nothng.

i also am going big on hilton. i did this with gates 2 years ago when he broke out.

i really like his chances. So what if he is a bust, he has probably the most upside out of any 13th or later round pick that is starting day one.

Maybe he means Mark Clayton... from the Dolphins. Duper and Clayton... that would be a pair!

:banned: :banned: Michael ..Mark 6 in one hand....that's why I stated TB, I was pretty sure I was messing up. jeesus, I only have Mark Clayton in two keeper/dynasty league. Oh well you all knew who I was talking about and I bet you probably agree. AS the 33rd rated WR in FBG's, I really think he is a steal, especially when his ADP is 8.01 in a 12 team league. :banned: :banned: bottoms up boys!

Sorry if I come off a little abrasive. Attempt #2 at answering your question: Injury concerns are there with Boston and Calico. I also believe they have outstanding physical features that could lead to surprise production. Boston needs to rededicate himself to the game. If he does that, stays healthy (two big if's), then we could see the Boston of old. At his ADP, he should be monitored closely on the waiver wire. Calico has always intrigued me. He seemed like he was really ready to step up his sophmore year before the injury. If he is able, to build from there, he has the physical attributes to become a factor. Please wear a helmet if attempting to bang head against brick wall.

Calico??? Are you serious??? He'll get a hangnail and be out for 8 games. He has as much a chance of doing something as say a Correll Buckhalter.

Clayton looks logical, Cedric Benson could rise above the ashes, and one of the Jags Wr's should step up and have good numbers. Matt Jones looks like the pick, but who knows.
