I don't understand how Favre warrants being anywhere near top ten.
He warrants a top ten ranking due to the following1) He is very durable2) I don't get (-) points for int's3) He'll throw for over 25 td's4) He has good options in the recieving game5) Still learning the playbook and will only get better
1. Agreed2. Ok, my league counts INT's count for half a TD.3. I don't see it, he's only thrown 25 TD's once in the last 3 years and that was with far superior talent around him.4. I'd say average options. Cotchery is good but more of a #2 guy and Coles is basically Cotchery with less tackle breaking ability. Keller is a rookie and the other guys are mediocre at best.5. Not sure on that, knowing the playbook and getting good playcalling are 2 different things, and I don't think Mangini/Schottenheimer are anything special as playcallers.
1) Romo (1)2) McNabb (3)3) Cutler (7)4) P. Manning5) Warner (8)I didn't change anything in the top 56) Rivers (10)7) Brees (same)8) Rodgers (same)9) Eli Manning (out of top ten)10) Favre (out of top ten)
Why so high on Warner? I'd probably have Rivers, Brees and Rodgers ahead of him. I'd even put put Rivers up there with Manning, he's the real deal and its his offense now.Favre has no business in the top-10. I'd much rather take a shot on a struggling Palmer or Big Ben or Hasselbeck than Favre. Also, I own McNabb and Cutler in 1 league and think Cutler is easily the better option.
Why so high on Warner..........let me ask you why aren't you?If you'd rather have Palmer, Hasselbeck or Big Ben instead of Favre I would love to hear a little more why. I don't see it.Please expand your thoughts.
How does Favre get points for durability but Warner doesn't lose points for it. He's the least durable QB on the list, McNabb included.I don't hate Warner, I just feel Brees and Rivers are much safer and offer similar upside, more upside in Rivers case as I think SD is finally becoming his team. Maybe Rodgers is jumping the gun as he's still relatively unproven, but I like his weapons more than Warner's. Warner has 2 guys(pro-bowlers, but still just 2 guys) where as Rodgers has about 5 legit weapons(Jennings, Driver, Jones, Nelson and Lee) I just think more can go wrong with Warner.Palmer and Big Ben have much better weapons and better track records, people forget that Favre was mediocre and at times downright awful in Green bay as recently as 2006. The 2007 Favre is gone, he retired, what we have now is much closer to the 05-06 versions who are INT-happy and drive killers. Carson Palmer may be the best buy-low guy out there at QB, they've played a murderer's row of defenses so far and they showed signs of improvement each week. Once henry gets back and Ocho gets healthy, possibly as soon as next week, this will once again by a pretty good offense, even if they aren't living up to their 2005-era numbers.Big Ben has had a rough start, but I just believe in his talent and in the talent of Holmes/Ward/Miller and Arians play calling. Perhaps the Parker injury will force them to pass more often and more creatively. Hasselbeck's weapons will be equal to Favre's in my opinion once Branch and Engram get back, not to mention Hasselbeck is just a better QB at this stage.
