I wrote this song several years ago as I watched my neighbors son go away after Christmas to the Navy. I'm not much of a singer or songwriter, but this song just came out. Anyway, my thoughts are always with those who served for me and my country.

Nice job. I like how you inserted pauses in between the phrasing on the final verse and chorus. Really helped punctuate the meaning of the lyrics.
