My yearly MLB bet-bump for 2011 (1 Viewer)

"Did you bet any NBA tonight"

Hell no.  There won't be much wagering from me for awhile.  Baseball takes too much time, hoops is a total joke, and a break is good for ya.
 I hear ya :bye:
Okay, I did take the over 5.5 in the Kings/Flames tilt because Hoard was on it :bag: , but really, there won't be much more for me after the next three hoops games.
:lmao: I'm on the Det/Philly over tonight.

Who do you have for the weekend? Are you going to keep riding UCLA?
Yep. I'll also grab George Mason if it keeps rising.

What's the line on UCLA? If they win, I win my bracket. Thinking of putting some money on LSU to cover myself. If the line is nice enough, maybe I could win both. :gettinggreedy:

LSU is favored? Do you think it will get down to a pick'em by Saturday?:not a bettor:
I doubt it, not sure about where the public money is, but this line should hold pretty steady I would assume.

Dbacks will be better. I have them winning the NL West. Not that thats gonna be any great feat but I think they will be better.

I am actually surprised that this thread didn't turn into another Yankees/Red Sox thread.

I am saying the Brewers will  - can't wait to catch a few games up there this summer. For some reason, I love going to that park.

Cubs  - as Yahoo! states, Injuries, Incompetence to Continue Cubs' Curse

Rays  - trendy pick, just need more arms and Kazmir to continue his development into an ace.

Reds  - my dark horse. so much offense on that team if Lopez and Encarnacion continue to improve..but pitching???

Twins won't make a huge jump and I believe Liriano is slated to be in the pen, no? It always amazes me how this team continues to be in the hunt every year. Great system. Same thing with the A's. Can't stand either team but respect them both.

I am a White Sox (and Brewers in the NL) fan and I can't see what they are going to do. Bullpen is a mess but the SP's are still solid. Defense is really good and they won't miss much with the loss of Rowand. I am concerned about LF and the leadoff spot. I would imagine the Sox have the resources to fill up any LF/leadoff and RP holes if it's necessary to make a trade. Regardless, I think they should win the division but other than that  . Truthfully, I don't care because I got to witness my team win a World Series in my lifetime. That's a big deal in Chicago. Oh, and getting tickets is tough...and full price!

Thanks guys.

I'm in a pool every year where you pick 6 teams to do better or worse than the previous year.  It's $500 per team and last year paid out $10k.

That's where I pulled the 12% from Cappy.
Well, who are you taking?
I'm not sure yet. I have 4 other buddies and we bet these kind of pools every year. (LSU gets us $8000)We usually pick 2-3 teams (of 6). Last year nobody was prepared at all and we took one team. We looked great out of the gate and then Houston & Wash couldn't lose.

We are meeting tomorrow night to figure out what to do this year and how much we should hedge on LSU. ;)

I'll keep you posted.

The rules stated that nobody could take Florida under.

We all liked the Brewers to do better but the concensus was that there isn't enough upside potential.

initial glance.

Indians - Worse. Even though he didn't tally a bunch of wins, the loss of Millwood will be big.
Cleveland
Indians were a MLB-worst 22-36 in one-run games last year and they still won 93 games. If they can improve on that by going just .500 in one-run games, it wouldn't surprise me to see them around 88-92 wins.
The 2005 Indians had everything set up for them. They were healthy all year long, especially that starting rotation. #1 pitching team. Really all they needed to do was make a midseason deal to get over the hump and they had a shot at a world series win.Of course in 2006 things won't go nearly as well for them. They won't win as many games. They will not make the playoffs.

With a little more than 2 weeks to go we are in 2nd place.

The next closest team has 65, then 60.

I really want Houston & Detroit to lose.

25 teams total this year and we are doing well. $12,500 split 4 ways would be really sweet.

We're team DH

Atlanta O 72

Detroit O 74

Milwaukee U 90

SF O 72

Seattle O 61

TB U 97

All teams

I found out my partners made a deal with the second place team several weeks ago and we are splitting 8-4.

We are way out in front.

SOB's didn't ask me because "you're too greedy."

It's a sad day.

Mets

Dodgers

Brewers

Pirates

PIT only needs 63 wins this year to reach the 12% mark. LAD and Mets will have a hard timing getting 12% better, but I think most people expect them to decline. I expect slight to middling improvement.

 I gotta kind of drunk and forgot to write them down. I remember something about Tampa Bay. I'll post later.
