Because I've been a subscriber and contributor here for over 15 years, and it's sad to see the tools I've relied on get replaced by versions which are not only worse, but clearly structurally worse; even if the obvious bugs get fixed, the functionality will not be as good as what was delivered in 2007. And management, which used to be an active part of the community, is now completely absent. So it's time to work on a better version of the spreadsheets I wound up having to create for my auction last year because of the implosion of Draft Dominator. And that's sad and unfortunate.
As have I. And like you and Icon mentioned, am willing to give last year's

a pass based on past performance. I guarantee a lot of people didn't.
Personally, I friggin loath changing #### for the sake of changing (if it ain't broke, don't fix it), but it's been obvious for a while that their Excel based tools, functional or not as a minimum needed refreshing to stay relevant in an industry that's flooded with relevant options. Having great insight and something that was new and ahead of its time 10 years ago alone might still be what keeps geezers like me coming back, but won't cut it for the 20 somethings that need that eye catching shiny object to go along with that info. They demand a tool that looks as good as well as one that works. They'll sped 10 minutes looking at it and if it doesn't have them reaching for the "save" button, they're moving on to to FootballGals or something. And they're the future $$ spenders of this industry. IMO, last year was an honest and earnest attempt at doing that. And while it didn't crash and burn, it was for all intents and purposes a dumpster fire.
They've always had the tools to give us that edge. That's been their "thing". We want those tools to make our time and $$ in this hobby/addiction fruitful. That's why we buy the prescription every year for their services. However, in order to get/stay at the leading edge of this hobby business they need leading edge tools. The "Dominators" may still work, but they weren't cutting edge. Change was needed and happened. So instead of telling Bruce Henderson to add some Apple functionality in the DD/TD they bit the bullet and rolled out a major overhaul. Before it was ready as it turned out. Sure they screwed the pooch, but hopefully they're that much wiser for it.
I would imagine there was some corporate soul searching and blood letting after the season was over and an in house promise to make it work 100% by the start of the season. In the past, we've all always had that connection with the Head Shed. That feeling that Dodds & Bryant were just a couple of guys up the street with their baseball cap (curved brim) turned backwards looking to hook up their football buds with some cool tools for $15 a head and make a little scratch on the side. But now those guys aren't just regular guys anymore. They have the vested interest in Daily and now Hoops guys (or whatever it is) so maybe they're not as tuned in personally as they were, but still, they're successful businessmen that are looking at our (for me anyways) hobby/addiction as a business. So now we don't have the hotline to Joe's inbox, our old faithful Dominator #### the bed and we're all kinds of (rightfully) pissed about it.
For me, I saw enough last year to feel that they did try. I've seen enough in the past to know that they do try. Based on those factors I'm patient enough and already paid my $$ and so I'll see what's what this summer. If it still doesn't work they I need it to, then I'll get my refund and move on. No biggie.
