NBA 2013-2014 BTTF II - Yo Mama is Champ, Abe sets new low mark (1 Viewer)

Can someone take a 4 player list? I'm about to drive home and I won't have access to a computer for about two hours.

5.11 Tony Allen SG

Might be a little early but he's exactly what I want at SG right now: low usage, not a perimeter guy and plays great D,

Damn forgot about Nene when I picked. Probably would have fit better, unless Granger gets PF eligibility.

Still having 3 solid wings who can D up and shoot the 3 isn't a bad problem to have.

5.12 Joe Johnson

I really don't like my team, not sure what happened. Iso-Joe!
I'm glad somebody finally took him. I have no idea how to sim fish this sim but Johnson doesn't seem like the kind of player that WIS would like.

The Nets are going to be an interesting team this year.

I had him last year and no matter what I did in terms of playing style, matchups or minutes he was still awful. I think he scored more than 22 points about five times and it was only when I set the team to be aggressive regardless of score and time left.

I almost took turner when I took Nash. I think he could be 15/5/5 which is a nice find this late. But i imagine he will have high usage which wouldn't work as well for my first unit.

As someone who has a pretty good idea how to sim fish this, Johnson's definitely not ideal. I guess there's hope he'll improve his shot selection with this year's Nets lineup.

Hes also my pick for the most minutes this year. The only guy on the roster that is available to take any minutes from him is afraid to get on a plane. I think he could average 40mpg this season. That's worth at least something in this thing.

For a guy who claims to know how to sim fish, it says something that 50% of your team was on Tim's squad last year.

That other guy will be more afraid of KG yelling at him from the end of the jetway.

I think he's definitely the best shooting guard left at this point. I just didn't like Him as my second rounder last year.

SO CLOSE TO ME!!!!

Also, with Zeller taken now, we can point to why the Biyombo pick may be especially bad. With Jefferson and Zeller, Biyombo is the 3rd dog at best there.

With as slow and immobile as Jefferson is I really like zeller. I think Jefferson is getting 22/11 but it will all be by the rim. Lots of room for zeller to roam.

As a note, their starting five isn't that bad

He'll still be the third big and really there is only one guy that is going to compete for minutes at the backup 4/5 with Biyombo and he's 5 years older or something and has shown no improvement since his freshman year of college. Not that I agreed with the pick, but his situation isn't going to keep him from getting 2000+ minutes.

4 of their 5 starters are picked plus one backup. Their 5th starter and one more backup will be picked sometime in the next two or three rounds and then we might not see the 8th man on their roster picked until the teen rounds. I could see them getting near 35 wins, but they'll probably end up in the 28-30 range. Just good enough to miss out on all the super studs coming out in the draft next year. Nice job Jordan.

ETA: Kevin Pelton has their reserves as a total of one win over replacement. So basically, you could replace their 6-12 guys with 7 guys straight out of the D-League and they would only lose 1 win on their record. Or, you could replace their 7-12 guys with D-Leaguers and improve.

I agree that 35 is their upside, and that factors in the numerous teams in the east tanking. That said, if mkg develops in to anything remotely useful and Zeller is solid (I think he will be) they will not be an easy win like they've been for a while. And they should have cap space the next couple years to add greedy guys who just want to get paid.

MKG very much reminded me of another skinny SF that was drafted about 6 years ago that had a great reputation for being a high motor defender who was a monster in transition with his athleticism but lacked the handle or jumpshot to excel at the next level. Hopefully MKG can figure it out quicker than that player, but I think that if people expect him to develop into even a passable jump shooter, they will be disappointed. The worst thing that could have happened for MKG is the Bobcats bringing in Jefferson to slow the offense down. The other 4 starters are built to get up and down the court, and Jefferson is going to be walking back and forth.

MKG is already ten times better than Corey Brewer.

No. 16 is going to yell at us for spotlighting, but here is the comparison last year.

MKG would shine in Denver's system.
