NBA BTTF III - Draft Over! War of attrition underway... (1 Viewer)

I was about to brag about being in 1st in Fantrax, then I realized only 6 people have set lineups and everyone else's roster is illegal. Should probably get that sorted out if we're going to use Fantrax standings for divisions.

Oh snap.

And I have Julius Randle available for trade if anyone wants him.

Early overreactions to my team:

Chris Bosh looks like an MVP candidate. Jeff Teague does too for some reason. And on a per-minute basis, Brandan Wright is way better than both of them with his 33.4 PER and .901 TS%. Tyson Chandler is doing what he's supposed to do and hasn't gotten hurt yet. Rodney Stuckey has been hurt, but it looks like he'll have a nice role on the Pacers. Beno Udrih is looking like a solid backup PG.

Unfortunately Udrih is the best Slovenian on my team, because Goran Dragic is complete garbage. 4 assists in 3 games and he can't shoot at all. Last year was a fluke and with the Suns having 53 point guards, his playing time will be gone soon. Sort of like Missing Ersan, who's already been reduced to 11 MPG - which is still way better than Bismack Biyombo, DeJuan Blair and Greg Smith, who have combined for 9 minutes this season. PJ Tucker returns from his extreme DUI suspension tonight and if he doesn't get significant minutes I'm completely screwed at SF.

seems like i have a solid 7 rotation guys (ibaka, millsap, zbo, jjohnson, mr october, jrue, shumpert), with h sims and a len as over 20 minutes guys also, though both of them worry me. virtually no one else is getting minutes or is even in the league. well, at least i don't have ersan! maybe the robbie hummel figurine plays a bit tre?

Can we make this a 3 on 3 league? I like my top 3 picks a lot (Blake, Hayward, Vucevic)...the rest of my team is not so exciting. At least Dunleavy is piling up minutes and Shved is doing enough to be a back up PG.

Actually it's only 4 games in and I'm kinda hoping this thread goes away. Could be the worst team I've ever put together in this thing - and I'm a career bottom 4 finisher here.

Abe-erific? I shouldn't laugh, my team ain't much better especially for a Sim.

Every year I convince myself I can slough wings. Every year it kills me, yet I never learn. Swaggy P is probably statistically my best 2/3 at this point and he hasn't played a game yet.

Early snapshot of my team:

PG/SG:

Tyreke Evans - 15.9 pts, 7.2 Ast, 6.6 Reb, 36 mpg, but only shooting 40%

Alec Burks - 13.5 pts, 3 Ast, 3.9 Reb, 34 mpg, meh so far not taking a step forward but getting solid minutes

Aaron Brooks - 10.4 pts, 3.4 Ast, 1.4 Reb, 19 mpg, shooting 47% on 3s

Austin Rivers - 7.9 pts., 2.3 Ast, 1.8 Reb, 20 mpg, shooting 54% and 37% on 3s

Marcus Thornton - 6.9 pts., 0.4 Ast, 1.3 Reb, 13.9 mpg, shooting 48%

Ramon Sessions - not worth mentioning

More or less solid so far in the backcourt, still hoping Burks can find another gear as the season goes along.

SF:

Tobias Harris - 17.9 Pts, 1.7 Ast, 8.5 Reb, 37 mpg, 46% FG, 38% 3s

Danilo Gallinari - 6.2 Pts, 0.9 Ast, 2.6 Reb, 17 mpg, minutes restrictions and rust are evident, needs minutes to work it out, we'll see how Shaw handles it

Jonas Jerebko - 7.1 Pts, 0.6 Ast, 2.3 Reb,15.9 mpg, 52% FG, 37% 3s, Solidly in the rotation and putting up good per minute numbers.

Mike Miller - not worth mentioning

Fortunately Harris is stepping up or I'd be hurting here. Also helped by the fact that this is T. Evans natural position

PF/C:

Johakim Noah - 7.9 Pts, 9.5 Reb, 1.5 Blk, 4.4 Ast, 46% FG. 32 mpg. Struggling a bit offensively with Pau taking up so much interior offense, hopefully balances out

DeAndre Jordan - 9.1 Pts, 12.4 Reb, 2.8 Blk, 0.9 Ast, 74% FG. 37 mpg. Doing his thing.

Amar'e Stoudamire - 10.7 Pts, 7.7 Reb, 0.5 Blk, 1 Ast, 49% FG. 23.3 mpg. So far so good if he can stay on the court.

Chris Kaman - 10.7 Pts, 6.9 Reb, 1.3 Blk, 0.6 Ast, 58% FG, 19.5 mpg. Putting up fantastic per minute production so far.

Anthony Bennett - 5.9 Pts, 3.3 Reb, 0.6 Blk, 1.1 Ast, 53% FG, 14.3 mpg. Looks like a real NBA player but knee issue is worrisome.

Jusuf Nurkic - 4.6 Pts, 4 Reb, 0.6 Blk, 0.6 Ast, 44% FG, 9.6 mpg. Getting inconsistent minutes, needs a trade or injury to get more meaningful time.

Interesting front line, with the offensive oriented back-ups putting up big ppm production and the starters being more defense oriented. Depth looks okay now, but of course one injury changes the outlook quickly.

That team is going to rebound the #### out of the ball. If your bigs can stay healthy, you'll probably have the ability to help out the perimeter a bit with a trade.

What do you think of Nurkic so far? I think he might be a nice player for the Nuggets going forward.

He looks good. Pretty fluid for a guy his size, and is an absolute magnet for rebounds. Offense is really raw right now but all the tools are there. If the Nuggets continue to struggle it'll be interesting to see if the move Mozzy, McGee, or Hickson to open up minutes for him.

TREcap:

PGs:

George Hill: He's dead, Jim

Mario Chalmers: 29.5 mpg, 13.5ppg, 2.4rpg, 4.3apg, 1.5spg, solid %s - Good bench guard so far, hope he doesn't have to start

Mo Williams: 22.1mpg, 6.9ppg, 4.7apg, .338 FG% - shooting like doodoo, will keep getting minutes

Donald Sloan: 32.5 mpg, 12.6ppg, 4.3rpg, 5.0apg, 38% 3pt - filling in ok for Hill...feel pretty good about this free for all pick

SGs:

Klay Thompson: 33.2mpg, 23.6ppg, 3.2rpg, 3.3apg, 1.2spg, .9bpg, 46% 3pt -- beast so far

Tim Hardaway: 17.4mpg, 9.1ppg, 37% 3pt -- expected more mins, but serviceable

SFs:

Kawhi Leonard: 30.0mpg, 12.9ppg, 7.7rpg, 2.3apg, 1.8spg, .6bpg, 44% FG, 27% 3pt -- weird eye thing early slowed him early, but I like what I see other than atrocious 3pt % (mainly thanks to a 1-8 2 games ago)

KJ McDaniels: 23.1mpg, 8.5ppg, 2.7rpg, 44% FG, 34% 3pt -- expecting mins to increase as the season goes on. :prays:

Mo Harkless: 15.4mpg, 61% FG -- needs a trade or something...plays well when he gets a chance, I was way off on his mpg

Danny Granger: Played one game, racked up 4 points in 20 mins

BIGs

Roy Hibbert: 30.2mpg, 13.6ppg, 8.1rpg, 1.7apg, 3.2bpg, 47% FG - playing pretty well for the most part, still loves taking games off

Larry Sanders: 22.4mpg, 6.2ppg, 7.6rpg, 1.5spg, 1.8bpg, 42% FG - brutal FG, not enough mins, love the D though

Miles Plumlee: 25.5mpg, 6.6ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.1bpg, 52% FG - ok, meh

Kostas Papanikolaou: 23.4mpg, 4.9ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.0apg, 1.0spg, 30% FG - brutal FG again, like the mins, but probably won't last

Tyler Hansbrough: 18.6mpg, 3.7ppg, 4.1rpg, 45% FG - bench warm body

Crap:

Darius Miller: 3 games, 8.3mpg

Clint Capela: 1 game, 6 mins

Ray McCallum: 6.5mpg, sucks

They kind of are who we thought they were. Not seeing some minute increases/scoring increases that I'd hoped for other than maybe Klay and Chalmers. Bigs are risky as F considering its probably a matter of time until one of them gets hurt.

If they continue to struggle, I hope they can dump everybody that would get in his way for playing time. With as smooth as he is for a guy his size, he has some real potential defensively. He won't be a rim protector like Ibaka or Sanders, but he could be a guy like Gasol or Noah that anchors a defense without blocking tons of shots. Regardless of how well he develops defensively, he's always going to be a beast on the boards and already gets deep position offensively. It'll be a couple years out before he's any good, if he ever gets there, but I'm really digging him being picked.

I would like the Nuggets to dump pretty much everybody but Lawson, Gallo, Faried and the rookies and start from new. Foye, Afflalo, Chandler and Mozgov would command at least decent returns in a trade and they wouldn't have to pay to get somebody to take Hickson.

Marc Gasol is a pretty good high end comp for him.

I don't think he'll ever get there defensively, but I was having a hard time thinking of elite center defenders who don't block a lot of shots but defend the pick and roll and isolations well because of their size. There aren't a lot of those (Okafor, Asik...). This is clearly hopeful thinking, and he'll probably never reach that level, but he has extremely quick hands and feet for a guy that is 6'11" 280 lbs, and seems to grasp the game better than most 20 year old big men.

Bosh is on a mission to destroy his FG%. He's 12-for-49 in the last 3 games, dropping it all the way to .415. He needs to suck a lot less for my team to be competitive.

JaVale McGee not looking great minutes wise. Olynyk getting solid minutes fortunately(Zeller needs to slow his roll <_< )

Dear Jordan Farmar,

I was disappointed to see you could only manage 5 turnovers in 15 minutes of playing time last night. Let's try and hit double digits next time, o.k.?

Signed,

Your Management

Add Kirilenko to the list of guys not playing at all. I need him to get a buyout and move to a team that will let him play, or I'm going to start having big problems with minutes...especially with Mason Plumlee struggling to get and stay on the court.

Anyone post the link to the fantrax? Thanks.
See if this works: http://www.fantrax.com/fantasy/home.go?leagueId=dftbg4rvi18joztl#

That might be linked to my account though....

If not, just go to fantrax.com and go to "my leagues" on the top left.

If you don't have an account set up, you'll have to get an invite from TRE, I guess.
:kicksrock:
Just tried to invite you and Sammy.
I haven't been that happy and sad at the same time in awhile.

The poll question on Fantrax today is who is the best point guard playing today, the six options include Rajon Rondo, Steve Nash and Deron Williams.

Not in the top three or the bottom three of any stat! My squad is the embodiment of mediocrity.
