NBA BTTF III - Draft Over! War of attrition underway... (1 Viewer)

Interested to see what Van Gundy does with Smith and Monroe. He's smart enough to know that Smith at the 3, Monroe at the 4 and Drummond at the 5 doesn't work. Somebody's minutes are gonna take a hit.
Situation is screaming for a Monroe trade. Just not sure they can get enough in return to actually do it though.
My dream is Monroe for Bledsoe in a swap of disgruntled RFAs. Not gonna happen.

They really should be looking to trade Monroe, I don't envision he and Drummond coexisting.

DeMar DeRozan SG Toronto

Is that good? Was going to grab Duncan, but knew Tim would snipe him.

Going to be really difficult. Any acquiring team gives up Bird rights on Monroe because of his qualifying offer contract.

I would take Favors over Lee, and I'm the only one to make the playoffs in this thing both years so I know what I'm talking about.

Ok, I could play it more safe but that would be no fun.

Yo Mama selects:

2.24 - Ty Lawson, PG Den

3.01 - Dwyane Wade, SG Mia

I'll definitely have to get some safer bench guys to cover for the lower minutes here, but in this format where you average out the minutes (and don't have to figure out what nights guys like Wade are playing), it's not as bad as in fantasy hoops. Going for the upside of Kobe's knee doctor and a huge chip on Wade's shoulder - at worst (hopefully) I should get 1st round stats at around 20 min per game.

Looks like Durant is going to be playing more at the 4 spot this year.

Team Yo Mama

PG - Lawson

SG - Wade

SF - Durant

I'm going to start to suck now because I was talked into joining this thing and I don't know a whole lot of NBA players after the top 20 or so. I haven't even heard of at least 8-9 of the guys picked so far. The truth Is that whenever the Lakers suck I tune out of the NBA until the semifinals.

Top 5 finish.

Love these picks. Wade will have the ball a lot more than he did last year, so even if he plays 1800 minute again, you'll get an elite player for 20 mpg. Lawson was hurt all year and playing with an awful team around him, but the guys that were hurt last year should be returning and they made a couple moves to upgrade the roster. The Nuggets should be a lot more competitive this season.

I'm new to this deal so maybe I'm wrong but it sure seems like drafting early in a 24 team league like this makes it awfully easy.

There is a pretty big advantage to getting 3 of the top 50 picks, to offset that a bit we do the 5th round reversal (rounds 1-4 are typical serpentine than the 5th round starts with the person who picked 24th). Its possible to field a good team out of the back end of the draft, but its almost impossible to #### up a team that starts with Durant or Lebron.

Ding ding ding ding ding

The NBA (and therefore this sim) is SO lopsided in terms of talent that the switch in drafting order should take place round 3, not 5.

I actually considered re-opening this discussion, but MOOPS JUST HAD TO START RIGHT NOW SO WE CAN FINISH A MONTH EARLY. And also, there have been teams that have been successfully from later in the draft, its just harder to do.
