**NBA BTTF V -- GREATEST THREAD IN NBA FORUM HISTORY (1 Viewer)

hopefully I can win more games when everybody tires out then.  2-9 after being top 5 in fantrax most of the year.  I'm benching Cousins in an effort to motivate him!!

trying to figure out why my team can't win a game.

everyone on my team is underperforming their real life stats except maybe Ariza.  WTF?
Sounds like bad coaching. This is probably why Frosty's the only one who's made the playoffs every year we've done this.

Wow, three injured at once!

I noticed last night that Lyles and JR Smith were about to die....Now I have 4 players in 60% and below :(
Gotta check every couple of days. Have everyone at 100% with only 5 unused minutes from Tony Parker on my roster.

Justin Hamilton was at 95% for a couple of days, adjusted minutes, which made Whiteside drop to 99%. Dropped his minutes for 1 game and now he's back to 100%.

Last year they really made managing fatigue important as players tired easier compared to previous years or at least more randomness.

wait we can't trade? it's pretty straightforward in baseball

IF we can trade:  15 mpg of CENTER/PF Mike Muscala available for the big men challenged.  Would package with Reggie Jackson, Tyler Johnson or Ty Lawson to upgrade at that backcourt position, even moderately.

Are tickets doable for trades or no? Asking for a friend.

More importantly, does it matter if I play a player at center rather than say, power or small forward, if they are 100% effective at each? i.e. would they get fewer rebounds at forward than center but more perimeter shots, or does position not actually matter in the sim calculations, again assuming 100% effectiveness.

I don't think position matters, but I have nothing to support that.

If they have 100% EFF the player plays at 100% effective at the position.

For next season, I think we should find the worst players ever at every position to play 30 mpg or some other arbitrary number. If anybody is short on minutes they can grab their Adam Morrison or Emmanuel Mudiay for their roster so they don't end up in that fatigue death spiral. I think it would improve the league by keeping everybody somewhat competitive throughout the season and get rid of some of the unbalanced trades too.

How are playoffs done? Is it 6 make it, Division winners get byes? Do they reseed or not after each round?

I like seeing the boxscores of fatigued teams like Arsenal's

sticks and stones may break my bones but in the sim, names apparently hurt too

I'm fine with how things are.

Health, minutes, production, and potential are things to consider during the draft and I appreciate that. It's not like a fantasy draft where you just draft based solely on potential for the most part. It's more a testament to NBA knowledge IMO.

Also, the current setup really makes people wonder how to spend the auction dollars. If we start giving away free minutes (no matter how scrappy they are) it makes spending top dollar on a stud player and sacrificing depth less harmful.

ETA: I did not like that people "dropped" players from their rosters as well for others to pick up. Why help someone for free?

9-4 since 'The Benching" of D Boogie, currently in the 6th seed!!

and Demarcus has apparently taken to his new role.  Now 2nd in 6th man voting behind Harden, who Blue Man group has coming off his bench for his 8-16 squad. c'mon coach! put the man in your starting lineup! DC wants that award.

5 games ago I beat paranoid androids on the road 128-93.  I lose to him today on the road 93-76.  I scored 52 less points somehow.

Man, trades would rock here... that said, at least for the time being with have a semblance of a race in the division and conference. Don't know how long until Dubs goes on another 20 freakin' game win streak, but it's a contest... for now.

Obviously luck plays into this a decent bit, but my team is doing a helluva lot better than I could have ever imagined going into this draft knowing almost nothing. KAT = :moneybag:

When do I get to play the limping dead again?

how are his guys always hurt?
His roster is about 2000 minutes short of the required 19,680 so his players got fatigued.  Fatigued players are susceptible to injury which further exacerbates the shortage of minutes.

WIS would do something about this if they cared.

I think it's fair.

He needed to draft or trade for more minutes. Plenty have traded top talent to get lesser players to fill minutes.
