NBA Fanduel (1 Viewer)

I have been playing double ups because I have had very good luck there with football but I am staring to think I may have to switch over to the 50/50s for a while to get a better grip on things.

I am curious to get other's thoughts on this. Have you had better luck on the 50/50s. The biggest thing I don't like about the 50/50s is that they are smaller numbers as opposed to the double ups.

Is it just me or is FD a lot easier to cash than Draft Kings? It makes sense that FD would attract the more casual player, especially with them being the official daily sports site of the NBA and the bigger of the two sites.

I started out at DK for football, but will probably play the majority of the time on FD now. In NBA I'm 8-6 on 50/50s on Draft Kings and am 9-0 in 50/50s and 1-0 on tournaments in FD.
Try not to get too carried away, it is still early. You are on a winning streak now but don't assume it will always be easy, you'll have your bad days too(a guy bust, foul trouble, injury or coach decides to get cute with player minutes / blow outs).

The trick is to have a betting system in place that accounts for bad days and good days(bet by a percentage, say 10 percent of your roll per night), so you don't go broke trying to win back the money you lost on a bad night because you decided to bet heavy thinking you were unbeatable.

That happened to me when I first started on fanduel I went like 1000 wins and 100 losses and when I decided to start betting really big I went on a losing streak and kept betting more trying to win back what I lost.

Had I been betting by a percentage I wouldn't have lost nearly as much money as I did during that losing streak.
Good advice. I have been slowly increasing my money bet over time as I have built up enough of a sample size in football and now basketball to be confident I can win the majority of the time. I'm not going out and betting half my bankroll in a night however. You definitely don't see me increasing my bets as I start losing.

Went down about $15 last night. Since starting on FD NBA on Monday I'm down about $19 on about $100 wagered over 5 nights. So I sprung for a $2 "premium" article, we'll see if it pays for itself. Otherwise don't really feel like I know what I'm doing enough to rely on free NBA daily content on FD/Roto, etc.

....and, looks like I got Papaviched. Thought Splitter was a nice value at C with Duncan out, but looks like Splitter isn't playing either. Not going to win anything with this, and being down $50 of the $100 I allotted for NBA, think I'm going to give it some more time and hope there's an influx of NFL players in a few weeks.

I won't throw in the towel yet, but I better not be putting together lineups from my phone ever again. I saw nothing about Splitter and Green being out, at least I put them together in one of my two lineups. Maybe it wasn't really out there, I don't know, but I didn't see it on Twitter or Fanduel. When I'm on my computer I have a few more sources to check and I would have dug into it more. Hopefully my other lineup doesn't fade as I have no LAC/MIL going.

I don't think there was any advance notice splitter would not play, and for green there was a roto blurb saying he would "come off the bench".

Will check back on NBA after week 16 or 17.

Where are the ####### lineups popsecret??!
Waiting on injury news but here are some plays I like or potentially like based on injury news

wish i checked this earlier, parker is playing tonight

I decided against giving exact LUs because of tournament / league reasons, but giving players i like and you making a LU out of it with guys you like is almost as good.

Yea this is stupid. I made my lineup 30 mins before tipoff thinking that was close enough to know sit/starts for tonight. Then check my lineup %s right at 6 and Joseph is 2% owned.

Is the only option to be f5'ing around tipoff?

Avoid the Spurs?

On the other hand, if you play the Spurs correctly you've got a good advantage over everyone else
Def get it. But it's also possible to mess that up too like Saturday.

Thoughts on this for tonight? :newb:

Westbrook POR@OKC $11,200
Jack DEN@BKN $4,900
Thompson GS@LAL $7,900
Oladipo BOS@ORL $6,100
Deng PHI@MIA $5,900
Muhammad MIN@CLE $6,000
Morris DAL@PHO $6,200
Teletovic DEN@BKN $4,500
Plumlee DEN@BKN $6,400

Westbrook takes a hit if Durant plays but that doesnt mean he isn't a good play, just makes him less of a sure thing to hit 50+

Jack only has value if Deron Williams is out

Thompson is fine, great MU, just got to be concerned of the BO and him sitting the entire 4th again

Oladipo isn't really trust worthy unless you are playing a tournament team then go for it

Deng at PHI is solid

Muhammad has been putting up points and still kind of cheap

Morris is decent, id rather play him in a tournament than cash game

Teletovic only if KG is out and he is starting or id avoid

Plumlee has been on fire, can't fault you for playing him

Probably go Curry if Durant is in

Yes... maybe Mo Williams if Deron plays

Thompson is fine, great MU, just got to be concerned of the BO and him sitting the entire 4th again

OK

Oladipo isn't really trust worthy unless you are playing a tournament team then go for it

Since moving back to the two... has been putting up numbers and plays the Celtics who are fast paced so more looks

Deng at PHI is solid

Muhammad has been putting up points and still kind of cheap

Teletovic only if KG is out and he is starting or id avoid

I'm lost at PF... any recommendations?

Thanks! Thoughts above in red.

I think John Wall at home is probably the better play than Curry since theres less of a BO risk and John Wall has been putting up #s

I think Kemba is a good play, he has been on fire since Lance has been out of the LU

If Teague is out again, Dennis Schroder is a real nice play as well

Not seeing a lot of great plays at PF at the moment, could spend money on either Davis / Griffin

Or play a little bit cheaper option like Millsap

Or you could play Kevin Love being he is going against his former team and you know how NBA players are egomaniacs that play better under certain story lines but, thats more of a tournament play though

Could also play KG if he is starting again, he is usually a safe 20 with 30 upside

Love has some risk because he sprained a finger on his shooting hand the other day. He hasn't scored well in two games.

He has a lot of risk, thats why I am saying he is more of a tournament play because of the upside factor of going against his former team

I'm just clarifying for everyone that there is a potential physical issue. Relax.
I am relaxed, i am just clarifying when I call someone a tournament play it implies they are risky with upside

Honestly I think setting lineups before 6 EST is mostly a waste of time. There are always last minute scratches, which mean certain players will present a ton of value. If you are setting lineups before 6 pm, either you will have to change it afterwards, or your lineup is missing out on a lot of value.

Only reason I do it is to lock into contests.

I think what the best thing to do is to figure out how many guys you like as possible so when last minute scratches happens that present obvious value you'll be able to adjust the rest of your LU pretty quickly instead of running out of time

And to weigh risk vs reward, it's nice to know what the risk is. The reward is a big game. Is it a defensive matchup risk? Is it a BO risk? Is it a physical risk? Something else? I'm not going to assume everyone that reads this thread knows everything, otherwise they wouldn't be here.

What are the target cash and gpp scores for nba FD again? Last night did just 1 5050 with the lineup above, and while it easily cashed in a 5050, the cut was 291pts.
I read some where that cash was 275, but not sure. earlier this week I posted a 269 and swept my double ups. Last night I posted a 297 and went 2-8
Bump for popsecret. Target scores for cash and GPP? Is cash 4x salary and GPP 5x salary, as a target?
