*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (4 Viewers)

Nugs, relax my man. The Heat are CLEARLY

better than the Pacers. CLEARLY.

Schedule the parade! :D
I don't know about in Indiana, but we don't

parade down Biscayne Blvd for a conference title.

Good luck Pyzza!
Yeah, we line up the hay carts for pretty much anything around these parts.
Explains why all the sheep are hiding.
How hard have you been looking for sheep? Is this your profession or just a 'hobby'!In either case, keep looking GB, I'm sure you'll find you a good one. ;)

Heat fans must not travel well since you'd think they would be scooping up all these cheap

seats?!
Heat fans are awful. But no one "travels" for the conference finals.
You'd think they'd have enough bandwagon fans here in the Midwest to scoop these tickets up. I mean they are the Heatles for goodness sakes.
Agreed. Lebron James in his prime in the playoffs is worth the price of admission for any nba fan.

Agreed. While I don't care for many of his personal beliefs, you have to appreciate the basketball skills.

If personal beliefs aren't important, why the outrage over Donald Sterling?

Is there a possible double standard?
Man what in the #### are you talking about.

I'm no fan of the Heat, but Lebron has about as pristine of a public image as anybody could have.

I don't know what this lunatic is talking about, so let's switch to news everybody saw coming:

NEW YORK (AP) Former Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson has agreed to a multiyear deal to rejoin ESPN's lead NBA announcing team.

Jackson is scheduled to work the Eastern Conference finals and NBA Finals with Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy. They called the last of their five straight NBA Finals together in 2011. ESPN is making the announcement Saturday.

I was hoping he'd latch onto the Lakers or Knicks so we wouldn't have to hear his terrible commentary.

Shaw & Denver is just a match made in hell. Remember watching one of their 1st games of the season & thinking 'This isnt gonna last long'. A defensive coach with a team clueless on defense.

Knicks aren't going to be a quick turnaround either. But I think Phil realizes that. He and Shaw are on the same page on how to rebuild a team & the triangle will be run.

Nuggets may as well give D'Antoni another whirl with the personnel they have there.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith reported on Friday that Nuggets coach Brian Shaw is trying to get out of his contract with Denver, with the goal of accepting the Knicks' head coaching position.
Initial reports suggested that Phil Jackson was trying to pry Shaw out of his Nuggets' job, and according to Smith the interest may be mutual. Derek Fisher has also emerged as a serious candidate for the Knicks' coaching job, as Jackson may still be interested in hiring and mentoring a young coach familiar with the triangle offense.

Nugs......the reason I say Heat in 5 is they are so much more of a team this year than Indiana. The Pacers are reeling......I understand they made it to the ECF.......but they are reeling as a locker room and a unit being asked to beat the two time defending NBA Champions.

I think The Heat rips out all hope from them in a big game one onslaught. Take what little is left of their hearts and stomp on them today. I will be on a flight to NY watching the game (thank you Jet Blue for having in seat television). If the Heat does exactly what I think they will today......Indiana maybe bounces back in game two but The Heat sweep game 3 and 4 and close them out in game 5 on the road.

Just a blind homer hunch.......but the Heat are about to play their very best basketball over the next 2 weeks.

8 more wins Nugs......and our team goes into the history books as a three-peat dynasty!!!!

The Pacers are reeling, but I think they'll be up to play the Heat, and that should get them one, maybe two wins, but I just can't see them winning this series, unless something crazy happens, like a LBJ injury or something.

Pacers are reeling long term and not built to win a championship IMO (any of the top 3 west teams would slaughter them), but they will come together for the Miami series. They have been geared towards the Heat all season and should rally around that.

Kevin love, wait!
Wonder what the Wolves will accept in a trade. I am sure the Lakers want him, but Love wants to go to a winning situation and the Lakers have a roster devoid of talent. The only trade chip they have is a likely top 3 pick this season.

Rotoworld just cited an article that Golden State is interested. They, on the other hand, have interesting trade pieces.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls are among the potential trade destinations that intrigue Love.

The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks have likewise been mentioned all season as big-market landing spots that would tempt Love, but going to the best situation for immediate contention is said to be the power forward's priority.

Sources say that the Phoenix Suns, armed with several draft assets to offer Minnesota, also have strong interest in trading for Love, but the 25-year-old's interest in joining the Suns is unclear.
