*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (3 Viewers)

Durant would kill LeBron in a game of H-O-R-S-E, right? KD could probably make every dunk LeBron makes, though they would be workmanlike and far less stylish. But he would shoot the lights out and LeBron couldn't hang.

Concur?
KD is a better shooter than James. He's won like 3/4 scoring titles for good reason. I bet Jamal Crawford is probably a better horse player too. That would be where the comparisons end, though.

lol....Griffin you almost took his head off....of course it's a foul.
After seeing the replay - you still believe that?
Do you not see Westbrook's head get hit? Even the commentator said, "I don't know how you can argue that call"
No. I thought Griffin didn't touch his head.

Having said that, I'm at a hotel and therefore can't back up and watch it again.
They showed a replay, from under the basket view point, and it was an obvious foul as he hit Westbrook's head

OKC is too good. The Clippers can't overcome them AND the refs.

How are NHL officials so good, yet NBA refs suck balls?

:goodposting:

Definitely a foul.

Wow, great comeback by the THunder. The Clippers were unable to put them away in the first half when all of those Thunder stars were in foul trouble, and it came back to bite them.

:lmao:

I've got nothing but love for the Pacers. It wasn't a pretty series but it was interesting, and the right team won- they clearly were the superior team, no "what if"s or bad breaks. Their offense still isn't what it was when Paul George was a scoring machine early in the season but the defense looks back on form, enough to give the Heat a battle at least. With the obvious exception of their Game 5 mess, that wasn't the team that went 7 with the Hawks.

I know nothing about NHL officiating, but I do know that reffing basketball is the second hardest thing I've ever tried to do well (the first is play golf...so frustrating). You have to completely focused for the entire game...knowing your assigned areas and making judgement calls constantly...sometimes while you are running. And then you have to see sometimes 3 or 4 different things at the same time. The block/charge is so freaking difficult to officiate even in a game of 7th graders. I can't imagine trying to make that kind of judgement call at the speed of NBA players.

ETA: All that said, that offensive foul call on Chris Paul was ridiculous.

How many games do the Heat lose in the East side of the playoffs? O/U 2.5
I'll take the over. Brooklyn will get 1, and Washington at least 2 if not 3
I've got pretty strong doubts Washington wins three against the Pacers.
How strong? Put your money where your mouth is strong?
Ok? I've got no emotions about the series, just don't think Washington is very good. Indy is a trainwreck, but I think they're a much better team objectively, and talent typically wins out in these situations.

Washington wins, I'll ship you a $20 Amazon GC. 4-2 Indy or worse, give a few bucks to a hobo for me. If it ends 4-3 Indy, I'll feel like pretty strong doubts were justified, but it just didn't quite happen, and no harm no foul. :)
A gentlemen's wager of $20 it is. :hifive:

Just so you know, the Wiz are now favored to win the series outright after taking game 1, somewhere in the -150 neighborhood. Indy had been favored before the series, at around -180.
Freelove, just remembered I owe you $20. PM me with your paypal information or whatever and we'll arrange for some e-payment.

Drop it in a charity collection bin or whatever and think well of me. Sorry your guys didn't come through. :)

ETA: Unless that's somehow offensive. I don't want to offend. I just wanted to make good after I insulted your team's good name.

All good. $25 donated here. I'll request that the "personalized thank you tweet" be sent to "Freelove" or David West or whatever you prefer when they get around to it.

I may change my mind after game 1, but I think the Pacers get 2 and push it to 6....maybe even 7.

I have no idea what to expect from the OKC/Spurs matchup. Should be fantastic.

As if the game 1's of the Pacers last 2 series told us anything. Both were losses, they looked terrible in both, but still won the series.

i think the SA-OKC series comes down to the Spurs supporting cast. Parker has been terrific throughout the playoffs but this is when teams generally punish him in the paint. Can the ball movement continue to find open shooters and will they fall? OKC has been able to win with it mostly Durant-Westbrook carrying them. It's the Spurs - maybe 10 of them - versus two OKC players for me.

Yup. The Spurs have what, seven of the top 10 players in this series? 8 of the top 11?

Durant

Westbrook

Parker

Leonard

Duncan

Manu

Ibaka

Splitter

Green

Belinelli

Jackson

Diaw

Butler

Mills

Although, now that I'm a donor, I'll have to look up what it is. I have no doubt we want to stamp it out, however.
