Trade hibbert for a future 1. Let lance go. Build a time machine and go back to not do the Leonard / hill trade.

Problem solved.
Lance lost himself quite a bit of money long term due to this series. (Due to his play and antics)I just can't see someone giving $15 mil 2 years and a 1 for Hibbert (and no bad contracts going back). I'm sure hasheem thabeet is available for next to nothing.
Without the antics, lance wasn't atrocious considering his teammates all sucked. He'll still get a lot of cash from someone like Charlotte or Minnesota.

As a Wolves fan I would welcome lance with open arms.

Paul George said he's not sure if he wants Stephenson back as a teammate. This is not what you say to the media no matter how you feel.

I dont agree. Normally I would agree, but this is an abnormal situation where the guy next to you is a POS and makes everyone associated with him look the same.

The problem with this is if he does return next season, the Pacers are going to be asked about it over and over again.

Looking at the Pacers collapse, I think the rumors about Paul George and Hibberts wife have to be true. This team looked amazing and had Miami fans scared through the all star break, but they were fragile and needed one catalyst to fall apart. This was it.

Breaking down the key players:

Hibbert - falls apart after his colleague mows his lawn, I don't blame him.

Paul George - I loved PG going into this season, but now I think he is a dirtbag and am not a fan.

David West - always been solid, but father time catches up to all... He is starting to look like a guy going on 34.

Hill - worst starter in the NBA.

Lance - Guy is a loser... He has skills, but the maturity and mindset of a child. He's the guy you root to go bankrupt 3 years after basketball (and he will be)... Been a loser since Lincoln HS.

Evan Turner - Supposedly a cancer in locker rooms.

As a group they looked great for the majority of the season - The talent was shining, they were playing/meshing well despite Hill being awful, & they looked dangerous...

Then BOOM!!! PG nails Roys wife and sets in motion the great Pacers collapse of 2014.
I think a key question here is what kind of woman marries Hibbert?

Yeah pretty much just made sure he's not back.

Count me in the rest. You are off your rocker if you think LeBrons story has been written completely. He's on a historic run, and has a chance to go down as GOAT. Already the best since MJ IMO and still at the top, so who knows? Jordan's failures seem to be forgotten by you, as with many, over time. He was the best, but fell flat just as bad at times.
Shaq? Duncan? Hmmmm.

Im not really doubting his greatness.
Good discussion. I think James' peak has been longer than Shaq and higher than Duncan. Although it could be argued it's lower than Shaq and shorter than Duncan.

So is it "really hard" to argue that Shaq was more dominant? Did LeBron pile up rings before he teamed up with Wade and Bosh?

It's not, no. But James is way more well-rounded and he is capable of dominating games in many more way than Shaq ever was.

Did Shaq pile up rings before being coached by Phil Jackson (6 rings prior to then) or Pat Riley (4 rings prior to then)?

I'm just responding to the comment. LeBron is better/more awesome but Shaq was more dominant IMO.
Ed Malloy is a player?Goal!!!!!!
Sounds made up to meRef talk is probably awesome though. Did Malloy dominate LBJ?

I'm no expert. Haven't watched anything this year. I watched a lot in the past though. Just can't imagine it's hard to argue much of anything.

Wikipedia says Malloy went to high school with Donaghy. So I guess someone made money on that game at least.

Since 1980:

MJ first three-peat

MJ 2nd three-peat

Shaq three-peat

80's Celtics and 80's Lakers best

Bad Boys

Tim Duncan Prime Spurs

Akeem two-peat team

Don't think any Lebron-led team beats any of those teams. Losing to Dallas with a prime Wade and Bosh is a huge blemish.

Lebron led teams are at the level of the Kobe/Gasol/Bynum and Garnett/Pierce/Allen teams.

Think any Lebron team is an underdog against any of the teams I mentioned. Anyone disagree?

James is higher on the all time list, but in Shaq's prime for a couple of years there was simply nothing you could do to stop him. No scheme, double teaming, or tricky defense.
A. Foul him.

B. Be in a game where the refs called fouls on him, since his entire offense relied on the refs swallowing their whistles.

Certainly. If only for the Rockets teams. Those weren't top-tier champs, they were fillers in the power vacuum.

I'm not sure that's the only team I'd question, but it's the clearest slam dunk.

Prime, motivated Shaq was more dominant than LeBron. Doubt anyone would argue that. LeBron has/will be the best player in the league for longer than Shaq was.

George and hibbert to Cleveland for the 1 and waiters?
Here's one for you:

Asik, 25 and $3M to Toronto for Salmons and 37.

Houston gets Asik out of town and his salary off the books. Salmons has a $1M buyout so that clears cap space for them to make a run at Melo. Toronto gets a backup big and gets a pick for their troubles.

Then they'd just have to dump Lin...

I really don't understand Paul George missing all the free throws he's missed in this series. Horrible choke job.
I think the Lebron slobbers will define this as something other than a choke job. :)

Done. Fax it over.

I was thinking more like 2 of 18 for 12 points, like James did against Boston - only to follow that up with 6 for 24 for 21 pts, 5 for 16 for 21 pts, and 7 for 20 for 21 point performances. Jordan was never able to sustain that level of suck for that long. Or single-handedly cost his team a series like that.

Or maybe something like what James did against Dallas - 6 for 14 for 17 pts, 3 for 11 for 8 pts, 8 of 19 for 17 pts... just laying goose eggs in the middle of a final series. Again, a level of suck that Jordan could never come close to maintaining.
Didn't James' team win some of those games? Are you saying he should have shot more, even if the shots he had available were worse than the shots his teammates had and cost his team a win, so that he could match Jordan's scoring output in playoff losses? That seems like a pretty terrible strategy.

The point is that the comparison is really stupid. Yes, Jordan did lots of things in his career, good and bad, that LeBron has not. And LeBron has done lots of things in his career, good and bad, that Jordan did not. That's why a statement like "Lebron has fallen short in the playoffs numerous times in ways that Jordan didn't during the course of his career, and there's nothing James can do from now until the end of his career that can change that" is silly. Because you can switch the names and say the exact same thing. It's a terrible argument.
Your straw man has you grabbing at straws. James was a choker. He seems to have improved in that area, but he'll always be a guy that was a choker for the first half of his career.
Holy Christ. It's like a flashback to 2011! Except now the argument is even stupider than it was back then.

OK, sure. Go on pretending the early career playoff game-winners and incredible performances never happened. You and Skip Bayless and Gregg Doyel can stay the same stubborn fools who make the facts fit their silly narrative instead of the other way around. The rest of us know better.
The rest of who? You're the one pretending that certain performances didn't happen. The people like you who want to give passes on these performances and suggest James is as good as Jordan was are in the minority, I'm not really sure why I care about what straws you want to grab in your quest.

Lebron got a 3 year head start on his career and likely won't be taking two seasons off after his 3rd title (if he wins this year he'll be nearly a year younger than MJ when he won his 3rd). So he definitely has a chance to be the GOAT if the second half of his career is as good as the first half.

What kind of contract do you expect Stephenson to get? Also do you think he will stay with the Pacers? I'm guessing he ends up elsewhere to tune of about 7-8 mil over 4 years.

8 million annually seems about right. I think his playoff antics will cost him some money long term.

Seems like the perfect guy a middling franchise will overspend for and he disappoints.
