Look at all these sore losers. If you don't know by now my history as far as teams go well then....... :towelwave:
So having a history of being a bandwagoner somehow makes it ok? I suppose it's easy to say "my team won!" when you jump on the bandwagon of all the teams with a recent history of winning. It also makes you ten times worse than the people you are trying to disparage.
Let's see.... I've been a fan of the Spurs since there were the twin towers oh so many years ago and the Heat when Shaq went there. I guess my bandwagon ran out of gas the years when neither team won... :o

So you've been a fan of both ever since they were each consistently in the top 5 teams in the league save a couple Miami seasons?

Oh.

Oh.
I thought being a bandwagoner means you are rooting for champions. Oh well, color me informed.

Just need the Spurs to pull it through, or does being a bandwagoner mean that if OKC wins the west that I now become an OKC fan? :coffee:

Said the other day Miami -16. Worse than I even thought.

Pacers are one of the most gutless teams I've ever seen. Hope they go away for a long time. Impossible to root for.

See! Greg Oden playing the wire minutes in a series deciding game against the Pacers! Exactly what they wanted him for. Riley is a genius.

I was thinking more like 2 of 18 for 12 points, like James did against Boston - only to follow that up with 6 for 24 for 21 pts, 5 for 16 for 21 pts, and 7 for 20 for 21 point performances. Jordan was never able to sustain that level of suck for that long. Or single-handedly cost his team a series like that.

Or maybe something like what James did against Dallas - 6 for 14 for 17 pts, 3 for 11 for 8 pts, 8 of 19 for 17 pts... just laying goose eggs in the middle of a final series. Again, a level of suck that Jordan could never come close to maintaining.
Didn't James' team win some of those games? Are you saying he should have shot more, even if the shots he had available were worse than the shots his teammates had and cost his team a win, so that he could match Jordan's scoring output in playoff losses? That seems like a pretty terrible strategy.

The point is that the comparison is really stupid. Yes, Jordan did lots of things in his career, good and bad, that LeBron has not. And LeBron has done lots of things in his career, good and bad, that Jordan did not. That's why a statement like "Lebron has fallen short in the playoffs numerous times in ways that Jordan didn't during the course of his career, and there's nothing James can do from now until the end of his career that can change that" is silly. Because you can switch the names and say the exact same thing. It's a terrible argument.
Your straw man has you grabbing at straws. James was a choker. He seems to have improved in that area, but he'll always be a guy that was a choker for the first half of his career.
Holy Christ. It's like a flashback to 2011! Except now the argument is even stupider than it was back then.

OK, sure. Go on pretending the early career playoff game-winners and incredible performances never happened. You and Skip Bayless and Gregg Doyel can stay the same stubborn fools who make the facts fit their silly narrative instead of the other way around. The rest of us know better.
The rest of who? You're the one pretending that certain performances didn't happen. The people like you who want to give passes on these performances and suggest James is as good as Jordan was are in the minority, I'm not really sure why I care about what straws you want to grab in your quest.
Count me in the rest. You are off your rocker if you think LeBrons story has been written completely. He's on a historic run, and has a chance to go down as GOAT. Already the best since MJ IMO and still at the top, so who knows? Jordan's failures seem to be forgotten by you, as with many, over time. He was the best, but fell flat just as bad at times.

Looking at the Pacers collapse, I think the rumors about Paul George and Hibberts wife have to be true. This team looked amazing and had Miami fans scared through the all star break, but they were fragile and needed one catalyst to fall apart. This was it.

Breaking down the key players:

Hibbert - falls apart after his colleague mows his lawn, I don't blame him.

Paul George - I loved PG going into this season, but now I think he is a dirtbag and am not a fan.

David West - always been solid, but father time catches up to all... He is starting to look like a guy going on 34.

Hill - worst starter in the NBA.

Lance - Guy is a loser... He has skills, but the maturity and mindset of a child. He's the guy you root to go bankrupt 3 years after basketball (and he will be)... Been a loser since Lincoln HS.

Evan Turner - Supposedly a cancer in locker rooms.

As a group they looked great for the majority of the season - The talent was shining, they were playing/meshing well despite Hill being awful, & they looked dangerous...

Then BOOM!!! PG nails Roys wife and sets in motion the great Pacers collapse of 2014.

Shaq? Duncan? Hmmmm.

Im not really doubting his greatness.

And honestly, I didn't even watch the game last night. But 2 for 10 for 7 points? 2 boards, 4 assists? WTF - that's terrible. That's you can never be Michael Jordan terrible. It's not a choke job in the "I'm not going to bother to show up to the NBA finals" sense, but that's just a terrible, terrible basketball game from the greatest player on the planet. Passing at the end, foul trouble, whatever aside, there's no way to describe that as anything but terrible.
You're embarrassing yourself GB.

Boy the Pacers are in bad shape.

- their second best player is probably Stephenson and he's a lunatic and a free agent. If you re-sign him he may kill somebody on the court next year, and at best, your team chemistry. But if you let him walk you are getting nothing for a talented player who is your best ball handler.

- their all-star center is a 7 foot walking vaaaaaaaagina. <--- (this word is blocked which is unbelievable)

- their point guard can't really dribble.

- David West is still a fine player but will be 35 and on the edge of being done.

- maybe the worst bench of any playoff team.

- cap locked and no premium draft picks.

Man they are screwed.

Pyzza...if you see this, i'm sorry bud. You and the Pacers fans don't deserve this. It's one thing to lose, it's another to implode in front of the world to the point where most of the country was rooting for Darth Vader cause Luke Skyphenson and that other cast of characters. (Would Hibberts wife be Leia/PGeorge Hans in this scenario?)

Hopefully you're also a Colts fan and rooting for the Pacers is penance for having Peyton and now Andrew. Miami has the Dolphins and the Marlins traded the latino Babe Ruth for Andrew Miller, Cameron Maybin and a few minor leaguers....it's full circle.

Anyhow, my condolences brother.

Trade hibbert for a future 1. Let lance go. Build a time machine and go back to not do the Leonard / hill trade.

Problem solved.

No mention of the Doug Collins Birdman line here yet? That was one of the funniest things I've ever seen while watching sports. I just about fell off the couch. Jalen just about fell out off his stool.
I was shocked and impressed all at once. Got a good laugh out of me then I watched the video on Youtube.
Probably the highlight of the playoffs for me, at least since the Wiz went out. I was dying.

You'd think maybe they planned it since the timing was so perfect, but Jalen looks genuinely surprised when Doug fired back at him.
Link?

Lance lost himself quite a bit of money long term due to this series. (Due to his play and antics)

I just can't see someone giving $15 mil per for 2 years and a 1 for Hibbert (and no bad contracts going back). I'm sure hasheem thabeet is available for next to nothing. Maybe Portland would be interested in R.Lopez + sign and trade of Mo Williams for Hibbert (Personally I'd take R.Lopez over Hibbert in a heartbeat). Seem to recall Portland was pretty interested in him. I really don't Hibbert will have a lot of suitors.
