*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (5 Viewers)

Yeah Wow!!! If it's true. Which I highly doubt.24MM per season? Come on. Really?

If this is truly going to happen it would be stunning. Simply stunning. Bosh 24MM per year and Lebron goes to Cleveland. Miami would riot in the streets LOL. In all seriousness, the crap coming from so called sources is reaching EPIC status now.
Don't worryAdrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA

Charlotte's Josh McRoberts emerging as serious free agent candidate for Miami, sources tell Yahoo. Realistic option at mid-level exception.

That would be a pretty awesome signing for MIA. The best new addition they could get, I think (unless Melo to MIA could be a real thing).

And #### them if they do.

Cleveland is getting set-up yet again for an epic fail. I feel bad for that town right now. It's just cruel. Cruel I tell ya. What a massive ##### tease the media is playing off to the Cleveland fans right now.

If this does turn out to happen....I will be the first here to say WOW!!!!!!!!

You gotta believe this is total media ratings event going on right now. People are getting glued to their TV's, sports radio shows etc over all this...un-substantiated nonsense from Lebron's Caddy's second cousin down the street who told Lebron's trainer on twitter he is coming back.

And good old Brian Windhorst (hack of hacks) is reporting it all. LMFAO!!!!

Would be decent paired up with the Big Three. I can dig that. A full on effort guy, can grab some boards, score some points, play some defense. Would be a nice fit.

is your opinion that James has already made up his mind? Or that he is open to moving but will ultimately decide to go to Miami?

The thing is, it's the local Cle media (no, not those stupid callers on that timeline this morning) breaking alot of this stuff. Apparently, the national people are none too happy with Lebron's camp and the Cle sports media.

But, this all could be a big Lebron scam to get Bosh to Houston. Of all the crazy ideas being floated, that one is interesting to me.

somebody at the gym told me that espn was pay lebron not to announce his decision to stay yet so they can keep people interested

McRoberts to get full midlevel. 4 years $23 mill, with 4th a player option.

This makes me sick to my stomach, but it's the smartest move for both McRoberts and the Heat.

They weren't getting a better player for the mid-level. McRoberts is young, can shoot, and is really a good passer. Best complement to LeBron on the market.

For McRoberts, if LeBron comes back, obviously, it's a fantastic spot, but even if he doesn't, he's getting a nice payday to move to South Beach. As bad as the Heat might be, CHA is an Al injury and a Kemba stalled progress away from being really, really ####ty. Absolute worst case scenario is he's on a Heat team with a bunch of cap space an old overpaid SG. Like everybody else, two decent signings away from being an EC contender.

Kind of sad. First it was Lowry. Then Gortat. Then Deng. Then Ariza. Then Williams. Now its 8 points and 4 boards a game of Josh McRoberts.
Wait, who said it was Lowry? The Heat reportedly never called him.
Miami president Pat Riley has been pushing for a sit-down meeting with Lowry
Riles couldn't even get a meeting.

No one knows for certain if Lebrons made up his mind about anything let's be real about that. We are all giving opinions. Some are down right dumb and some based on some rational common sense. I think Gilbert burned that bridge..absolutely blew it up in fact.

I am just supremely confident that Riley get's this done. That IMO why in Gods name would Bosh and Wade opt out if Lebron was not coming back. They met, had lunch and discussed the game plan and it is of my opinion they pretty much know they are all coming back and are working to see who else will be joining them.

Now is it plausible to assume they all opted out to give maximum flexibility and see how the domino's fall? yeah sure. But that is just crazy business to opt out in hopes of terms. I truly believe they opted out knowing they are all coming back.

Is there a hint of doubt? Yeah about 1% of doubt and 99% of confidence Lebron resigns in Miami along with Bosh (we know Wade is retiring here and if Bosh resigns he will too). But with Lebron you just never know right? We have seen crazier things in sports.

So yeah I think they have known since they all left on vacation what is going down. That is why I am coming across snarky to some (I guess) laughing at all the rampant speculation lighting up twitter and ESPN. It is such a lot of BS from BS sources. And the NBA must love this attention. It's great for business. Everyone is talking about the Association.

So yeah I think he has known what he wants to do. But of course what's the harm in having his agent take phone calls. Who cares.

Your losing some credibility Cliff....you really are. Chalmers was a great role player on both championship teams.

Now your just being a big ###.

You know what this needs? Decision 2. Double down on the hate. It would be epic to play it up like Cleveland had a chance again only to say "Im going to keep my talents in South Beach."

 i love the confidence you have regarding the outcome of a fictitious finals
I think the Heat would have beat the Thunder too. But I think the Spurs would have beat the Thunder in the WCF even with Ibaka, so doesn't much matter.

Anyway, McRoberts doesn't suck. Bobcats guys will tell you as much. He's a great fit if they bring the Big Three back.

That IMO why in Gods name would Bosh and Wade opt out if Lebron was not coming back.
There are lots and lots of reasons to opt out if he isn't coming back. Houston just put 96 million of them in front of Bosh. Why would Chris Bosh play at half-salary for a team that has no chance of contending?

I can decide if I like this option more or just screwing over Todem. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Cliff is really showing his colors now. A true hater.

WTF did Mike Miller do for this team in terms of PPG, Rebounds per game etc etc. Not a whole lot on the stat sheet. But did he need to? No. Did Chalmers? no. Not when you have three players like Lebron, Bosh and Wade. yeah longer in the tooth but still very high quality along with the best player in the world. Enough already. Haters are going to hate no matter what.

He is ridiculous Nugs....flat out looking stupid now.

Signed,

Crazy Heater Fan.

Can't be 96MM Abe they can't pay that. I think the max is 88MM

48 hours though all will be known. And if I am wrong I will be wrong. And if the Rockets get Bosh....awesome for your squad Abe. he is highly underrated by casual basketball fans. They don't see what he does on the floor for Lebron and Wade to understand it. It does not show in the stat sheet.

The Heat can max deal Bosh for more (with no Lebron) so if he knew Lebron was not coming back and he opted out...IMO he would have already re-upped here for the max. He does love South Florida. That is big for players.

Adding Josh McRoberts just confirms the thought that Miami can't get that much better than last year.

Regardless they are still the team to beat in the east assuming the big 3 resign. Lebron should resign for 1 year. It's his best play

LeBatard said in print what he has been saying in tweets essentially since free agency began.

When Kyle Lowry, a rumored target of the Miami Heat, agreed to a deal to return to the Toronto Raptors, reports called it a swing and a miss for the Heat — except, according to LeBatard, the Heat never got past the preliminary stage, internal discussions, of pursuing Lowry.

In the end, the sides never even met to discuss a potential deal.
Agents leak this kind of stuff on purpose...it's their job to get the most money for their players, does not mean it's true.

How is it so crazy they all opted out? Wade absolutely had to have assurances from Riley or he never would have opted out. Bosh knows if it didn't work out he'd get paid, maybe even from a contender. All they did was give Riley what they felt they owed him..a chance to retool..and if doesn't work out the players move on. I don't think it's more complicated than that, barring a Melo Lebron Wade coup.

According to lots of other media members, including Windhorst who lil'Heater Todem claimed had all the Heat info, said they were targeting him.

Point is, they struck out on everyone as expected because they had zero money to spend.

:lmao:

My favorite by far:

12:35 - Country club employee caddied for someone who has ties with someone who has ties with LeBron's inner circle. The guy told the employee to trust him, "my sources are very reliable. LeBron is coming... back to Cleveland."
Someone who caddied for someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows Lebron. Five degrees of separation. I think that tops the girl who said Ferris Bueller passed out at 31 Flavors.
Simone is a solid source.

I just thought it was a silly time to mock the Heat after they just made it to 4 straight finals of being a McRoberts away from winning a championship. Not a guarantee, just a comment.

In addition, who wants to come and play at a place with so much uncertainty and be left holding the bag when Bosh and Lebron go elsewhere.

My big question is if LeBron leaves, what does that do to Melo and the rest of free agency. LeBron out of Miami opens up the rest of the East. Even in Cleveland, they still might be favorites but Chicago, Indiana, and company must feel a lot better about their chances.

And Bosh in Houston probably creates another real contender for the foreseeable future. So does Melo stay in NY or even think about Chicago with an easier path to the Finals?
