No, the ball doesnt have to go in the backcourt for a violation. The issue is that he never was in the front court. Both feet and the ball need to be in the front court. You can straddle the line and dribble from the front to the back court as many times as you want.From the replay I saw, he never had all three things (both feet and the ball) in the frontcourt.

Yeah, he sure did. Sadly, he couldn't board or do anything against the Heat - which helps as I doubt they do anything contract-wise with him (outside of the standing qualifying offer today). I'm not a fan. The Heat. They beat the Lakers in both games including a blowout on Christmas. Bynum played in both games. First, they'll have to beat the Celtics, which is a very tough matchup for the Heat.
