*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (4 Viewers)

Didn't he get one foot on line - and then do it again - why is that not back court
Yep, first time was ok, but the second time was clearly backcourt. Blown call may cost Denver their season. That said, how about not allowing OKC to outscore you by 12 in the last three minutes.
I didn't see the play, buy I believe that the ball, not just your foot, has to cross into the backcourt for a violation.
No, the ball doesnt have to go in the backcourt for a violation. The issue is that he never was in the front court. Both feet and the ball need to be in the front court. You can straddle the line and dribble from the front to the back court as many times as you want. From the replay I saw, he never had all three things (both feet and the ball) in the frontcourt.

Was that Wade dunk necessary
Horrible, especially since the Sixers laid off fouling with 5 seconds left down 4. I thought this was a heckuva series for the Sixers. 4 of the 5 games were very competitive and their young guys got a ton of experience. Couldn't have ended a season better (outside of a title - duh) for them - great effort and coaching.
Agreed RR - Collins is a hell of a coach, definitely COY worthy, and they have some great pieces in Philly. I saw them at the United Center this year and was very impressed. Thad Young is a beast.

You definitely caught one of the Sixers season highlights with that win @ Chicago (esp after losing in OT to the Kings at home the day before).

Spencer Hawes went OFF that game :D

Yeah, he sure did. Sadly, he couldn't board or do anything against the Heat - which helps as I doubt they do anything contract-wise with him (outside of the standing qualifying offer today). I'm not a fan. Just keeping Dalembert (I get that the front office didn't think he'd mesh) would have been a big upgrade.

Question for Kev and the other Nuggets fans here:

Nene, Martin, Smith, Chandler and Afflalo are all free agents. Who will be kept and who will leave?

Looks like Hawks are going to take this series.
Really thought it would go seven games.
Not quite over.
Still think the Magic would beat the Bulls?
Well first, don't forget that I would root for Chicago in that series. My answer is not as much as I did. But basketball is all about matchups as you know. If Orlando pulls this out, the way they play in the next round won't have much to do with this round.

I am closer to my $200. Bynum is a beast out there tonight. If he plays like this, who's going to beat the Lakers in a 7 game series? Answer: nobody.

Nene - He still got one more year (He has an ETO that I doubt he'll exercise) but he'll get an extension. Hes inconsistent and frustrates me constantly, but its hard to find a legit center and I really hope we extend him.Martin - I bet hes gone, he hates Karl, Karl hates him. I would like him back at a reasonable price (3 yr 15M or so)JR - See above.Chandler - I like him enough, I bet he comes back when the Nuggets extend his qualifying offer, but he won't get a new contract.Afflalo - Hes an RFA, I bet he gets resigned. As for the rest of the roster -Lawson and Gallinari - I hope the Nuggets build around these two with Afflalo and Nene.Mozgov and Koufos - indifferent to these two, they both have one more year guaranteed and aren't horrible.Harrington - I would love to see his contract gone, but I doubt thats happening. Felton - Hes valuable in a trade, and as everybody knows I hate him, I pray the Nuggs can dumb him.Anderson - Hes an alright player and a fan favorite so I bet they're stuck with him, but I wouldn't miss his contract.Forbes - I really liked him (for what he is - a 5th wing) and I wish they had him under contract for next year and hope they can get him back on the cheap.Ely - Didn't #### anything up this year, if Mozgov, Koufos or Anderson are gone, I wouldn't mind him sitting on the end of the bench in a suit.

The Heat. They beat the Lakers in both games including a blowout on Christmas. Bynum played in both games. First, they'll have to beat the Celtics, which is a very tough matchup for the Heat. I know it would be tough pill to swallow after losing a $100 bet on their greatness earlier in the season.

I *officially* hate Popovich. How could a wealthy NBA coach with rings be such a total d-bag?
Can you unpack this for me? I thought the guy is universally respected around the league. Im legitimately curious.Full disclosure: Spurs fan.
Sorry, just seeing this now.Nothing to do with respect. I'm talking strictly from a personality standpoint. Like when he is getting interviewed by Lisa Salters or any other reporter. He conducts himself like a bitter, petulant, arrogant, angry-at-the-world jerkoff, and I hope he loses every game he coaches.

Wow, the Heat are nearly 2:1 favorites over the Celts.

I think Miami wins the series, but I'm quite surprised the odds are that heavy.

I think the Thunder, Heat, and Bulls could beat the Lakers. I'm not saying it will happen but I think Lakers fans are much more confident than they should be.

I liked how the Triple-Double Machine tried to push off Artest only to bounce himself into a turnover, then Jason Smith fell over Artest trying to defend the layup.

Those kooky Hornets, always good for a laugh. Not as good as the Lakerphobic subtitles, but still pretty funny.
