*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (9 Viewers)

Can one of you NBA knobs explain to me how the cap is 58.3 million and the Heat can have Bosh, Wade and Lebron?

I'll hang up and listen.

Contract escalates each year. First year of max contracts for all three fits under the cap.ETA: Heat has "Bird rights" over Wade, whereby you can sign your own free agents and exceed the cap.

Wade, Bosh, and LeBron all took less-than-maximum money to play together.Miami renounced rights to their own free agents other than Wade, and traded away some existing contracts to make room.
Can someone explain to me where the union is in all of this? I know in the end, there is nothing the union can do about it, but one would think they would at least show some face.

Players leave teams all the time. I know James is a special player but it's not unheard of for players to leave teams. Especial now days.

I don't think James needs to apologize to anyone.

What a colossal fist####ing for Cleveland. Jesus.

No dude, they're not going to have mixed emotions.
They can still sign and trade no? Might get Beasley and expensive crappy guys back. What is the chance of that happening?
They have almost nobody under contract. There really isn't much in the way of assets that they have.
Well, Beasley and Delonte shooting up the town and pimping out whores would at least be entertaining.
