Miami's roster looks like something a 10 year old who just picked up NBA Live 2011 would come up with - but even the video game AI likely wouldn't allow a team that stacked at the top end. What are the NBA laws arround collusion? These moves wouldn't pass in my fantasy football league.

So, HOU gets a switch in 2011 and then they get the next non top 5 pick the Knicks have from 2012 until 2015.
Yes switch 2011 as long as Knicks don't get the #1 overall pick next year. So worst case for Rockets is if the Knicks draft #1 next year and draft top 5 from 2012 through 2015.Other Rocket extra picks:2011 second round draft pick from L.A. ClippersHouston has the right to swap the L.A. Clippers' own 2011 2nd round draft pick and Houston's own 2011 2nd round draft pick [Houston - L.A. Clippers, 8/6/2008].2011 second round draft pick from MemphisMemphis' own 2011 2nd round pick to Houston (top 55 protected in the 2011 Draft). If Memphis' own 2011 2nd round pick is in the top 55 picks, then Memphis' obligations to Houston shall be extinguished. [Houston - Memphis, 12/24/2008]

Actually, it looks like a fantasy football auction team with an owner who spent 90% of his alloted money on the two best RBs and the best QB, and is now waiting around to fill up the rest of his roster with a bunch of $1 players.

fixed.
You're kidding right? They were all FA's. Whats the problem?

I actually wish more players did this. Well, I wish more would sacrifice pay to bring in more guys who would also sacrifice pay, all in the name of winning. these guys got it half right.

You wanna make millions? Know how to do that? Win championships. If you win and you don't look like Pau Gasol, they print money for you.

Players today can't win for trying. Take the money and you are in it only for the money, you are money hungry. Leave money and the table and go for the WIN, something everyone claims to want for its players, and you are a back stabbing beta dog. GTFO, it's no wonder players are gross today, fans are just as bad.

What are the NBA laws arround collusion?
This isn't collusion.
Didn't Dwayne Wade have a "free agent summit" quite a while back?
Collusion is an agreement, sometimes illegal and therefore secretive, which occurs between two or more persons to limit open competition by deceiving, misleading, or defrauding others of their legal rights, or to obtain an objective forbidden by law typically by defrauding or gaining an unfair advantage . It is an agreement among firms to divide the market, set prices, or limit production. It can involve "wage fixing, kickbacks, or misrepresenting the independence of the relationship between the colluding parties. In legal terms, all acts affected by collusion are considered void.

Hint: It's not unfair

James/Wade/Bosh are labor, not employers/firms. If all NBA teams agreed together that none of them would pay any FA more than $10mm a year, that would be collusion.

I'm having a Shark Pool flashback.

I love what Walsh has done to the Knicks. I thought if we dont Lebron we done. But we got Anthony "21 year old" Randolph who is a steals machine and blocks shots as well for free basically and also got good solid role players Azu and Turiat.

Really want Felton now, and i think we can be a surprising #5 or #6 seed if Danilo can take the next step.

Now all we need is Melo or CP3 in 2012 and we can contend with Heat.

Wow, Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight; As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier. This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment. Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us. The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you. There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you. You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal. You have given so much and deserve so much more. In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight: "I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE" You can take it to the bank. If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels. Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there. Sorry, but that's simply not how it works. This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become. But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio. The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma. Just watch. Sleep well, Cleveland. Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day.... I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only: DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue.... Here's my take on this. Some teams don't attempt to be championship worthy. If a team demonstrates such an attitude I have no problem with a player leaving. Players deserve the opportunity to at least compete for a championship. In this case the Cavs had done everything they could think of the last few years to upgrade that team to compete for a championship. You may or may not agree with some of their moves. I was particularly critical of many of them. But there's no doubt they tried and were willing to open up the purse strings to try to get Lebron a championship. Given that, I'm somewhat disappointed in Lebron leaving and I'll be rooting for this "experiment" to fail. Of course, I'm a Lakers fan so I'd be rooting for it to fail anyways.

For crying out loud, take this #### off tv. I'm not even much of a baseball fan, and I wish they would show some highlights just so I don't have to watch this garbage. :lmao:

Good for him. :lmao:

There's definitely nothing wrong with what LeBron, Wade and Bosh did. It was a great idea on their parts.

What is funny about the whole thing is that the NBA's salary cap is so convoluted and full of holes that Miami was able to assemble a team above and beyond what probably could've been done in a free market. Even the Yankees have to be jealous right now.

Is that really from Dan Gilbert, or is that something that needs to be checked on Snopes? Not going to get a lot of capital with the current day NBA player with that rant.

You think any of those guys sign for the minimum?I think we are talking about Jason Williams, Juwan Howard, and DJ Mbenga's of the world, filling out that roster.
Certainly doubt it, just putting it up for the guy who asked who was left in terms of free agency.
I could see shaq, but think brad miller may be the fa center they get. I like their draft picks to play their roles. Those guys on your list probably haven't made enough money yet to sign for so much below market value. Any vets looking for a title? Like AI or somebody like that? Are there any shooters or defensive stoppers out there? Kapono?

Even though that letter seems pretty childish, if I'm a Cleveland fan I'm at least taking some solace in knowing I've got an owner that truly cares.

As a pittsburgher I can only :goodposting:

Heard that the Rockets are going after Brad Miller in hopes he'll want to play for his former coach.

Dan Gilbert needs to get a grip. Yeah, it sucks, but he sounds like every other Cleveland fan who unfairly put all of their failed championship hopes of the last four plus decades on the shoulders of one guy and are now pissed that he is looking out for himself and going somewhere else that gives him a better chance of getting that elusive ring.
