Your leaving out the part where it seems Melo doesn't want to play for the Nets. Melo holds that card and nothing the Nuggets can do about it except go to practice and get ready for the season with Melo. No one can find a quote from Melo saying he wants to be traded. Sure we can try and read between the lines. If everyone keeps their heads things will work out. Melo will work with the team and get what he wants in time. Who knows maybe Melo cools his girl down and resigns. It's not like they just met, they have been making it work this whole time.
All of Melo's comments and actions are exactly the same thing Bosh and LBJ went through the past year. I know you're a Denver homer, but this will be the last season Melo wears a Nuggets uniform. He wants out and while it's true he has the power, reports said that Melo was set to sign with the Nets, but the Nuggets went snooping around for more offers giving Melo more time to think about it.
Money talks in the NBA and right now Denver is the path via re-sign or sign an trade where Melo can get the most money. If Melo wanted to stay with the Nuggets he would have signed his extension like Brandon Roy, Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard, etc, but so far he's playing the LBJ/Bosh angle.
