*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (4 Viewers)

Randolph should have missed on purpose there. With 1.7 seconds there wouldn't be enough time for San Antonion to get a shot off.

Now they've got time to catch and shoot.

I was thinking this exact same thing. You take a long freethrow with a long rebound. By the time the Spurs get it and call timeout, you're under a second left.
Doesn't the clock start when the ball is touched?
Yes

Ariza was a 5th/6th on a championship team :P
Was he seriously that high in the rotation with the Lakers? I did not realize that. I do agree he's the best of that group. He may be better than Landry, who is way overmatched on the defensive end.
Actually looking at the stats he was probably the 4th best player during the playoffs. He was hot from three point range all playoffs long.Shot 50%, 48% from 3pt land.4th leading scorer, rebounder, and in minutes. 3rd in assists.Kobe, Pau, and Odom were top 3. Ariza, Fish, and Drew all had their moments, Ariza probably the best overall.
I do remember he was extremely hot during that playoff run. IIRC, they would have lost one game without him tipping an inbound play. : (
Yep, Game 1 of the WCF vs the Nuggets
I was in Hawaii for my graduation present to myself and my GF, that ####### game ruined an entire day of vacation.
I was in Maui for much of that series.

OK. Then I'm wrong. NEVER MIND

The only stream I can find is some spanish speaking station. These announcers are way better, even though I have no idea what the hell they are saying.

Meanwhile OKC and Nuggets have been trading haymakers and heavy punches in the corners...this is an awesome game as well.

Crushing loss for Memphis. The Spurs have been perfect in OT. This series may turn around now.
People tend to overreact to these kinds of losses (see Mavs rebound) and assume HUGE shifts in momentum.
I know, I thought about Dallas. You make a good point. If there is a difference, it's that Dallas has a bunch of veterans who have been through it all before. Memphis doesn't.
But Memphis will be back home in front of a raucous crowd that will snap them out of any funk they might be in. I think they'll be disappointed, but they'll also know that they came back from a big Spurs lead and *should* have won the game. I think the same problems the Spurs have had with Memphis will be in place on Friday night.

PS, I agree. Paul has been the best player in this series, including Kobe Bryant. No shtick.
Chris Paul is an all time great. But lets be fair, this is the best matchup in the entire league for him, and Jack bailed him out at the end of Game 4 or else Paul would be sporting goat ears right now.
The Lakers are a great matchup for opposing guards, I agree. Best in the league? I'm not sure. However, none of this changes the fact that Paul took a band of scrubs, and got them to compete against a stacked roster, who is favored to win the championship, and probably has the most size in the NBA. It also doesn't change the fact that he was the best player on the court in this particular series.

Other than Paul, that roster is gross. I would argue they may be worse than the LeBron-less Cavs.
There is no better matchup for quick PGs than LA, they don't have a single player on the roster that can slow them down. And minus West, the Hornets roster is pretty damn pathetic. They have Paul, a decent starting center in Okafor and 10 other players who are borderline nba talents.
Carl Landry's a good player. Belinelli, Ariza, and JJack are solid rotation players.I agree that without West the roster is pretty weak, but cupboard isn't completely bare.
:lmao: Jack and Belinelli were barely rotation players when they were with the Raptors. They have no business being on the floor in a playoff game.

Glad to SA put up a fight. If Memphis plays game 6 like they normally do and SA plays the way they are capable of then we go back to SA for game 7. Am I betting on it, not a penny. Show me Spurs, show the world you aren't ready to go gently into that good night.

Time to start talking Boston vs. Miami:

Rondo vs. Chalmers Adv Rondo

Allen vs. Wade Adv. Wade

Pierce vs. James Adv. James

Garnett vs. Bosh wash

O'Neil vs. Anthony wash

Boston bench (Davis, West, Green) vs. Miami bench (Bibby, Ilgauskus, Jones) Adv Boston

Coaching- Rivers vs. Spoelstra Adv Rivers

Boston in 6 or 7

Felton is a pathetic basketball player, if I haven't said that enough.

ETA: Karl brought in Lawson for JR instead of Felton and Felton returns the favor by consecutive TOs.
