*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (10 Viewers)

If Tristan thompson is the fourth best player in this draft then I'm not sure there is anything left to get excited about. He's a nice power forward. But he isn't anywhere near the talent of favors or cousins, much less an all NbA type IMO.
:goodposting: Apparently Irving will be shooting alot if they stand pat. This pick is till making me swear like a drunken sailor.

For the Cavs fans that complain about the pick, Im guessing no one really wanted to trade up. When before the draft theyre talking about Kemba going 17th, why trade up?!

These Euros usually hit 1 in every 5. Be happy you picked the black canadian!

Cleveland getting what it deserves for the misguided Lebron hate.

Have a nice offseason Cleveland, we'll see you in the playoffs in about 20 years.

Freak athlete? He seems coordinated and runs well, but he was only getting about a foot an a half off the ground. Runs around and jumps and looks kind of like Durant with pasty skin.

Hope they trade Thompson.
I can't even type after that pick.Grant is a moron, the Cavs and their draft family are a ####.
Who would you have been happy with there?
Valanciunas was who I was hoping for, even with him not being available right away. The Cavs need offense the guy is a legitimate inside scorer and shoots free throw ridiculously well for a big man.I really believe they could have traded down and got something else and Thompson would still have been there.Does anyone know here Kahn is? I'm thinking he has tied up everyone the the Cavs war room and is calling their shots.

Agreed, except I'd put the Euro hit rate at 1 in 50.

You guys need to view some old drafts. Unless, perhaps, you define "hit" differently than I do.

If I'm Detroit a third combo guard is exactly what I want.
If I'm Detroit, the only player on the current roster I even think about when drafting is Greg Monroe. Everyone else is expendable garbage.ETA: Or in the case of Prince/Hamilton/Wallace, will be out of the NBA long before the Pistons are in the playoffs again.

In other news,

TMZ is reporting Ron Artest has filed a petition in L.A. County Superior Court to change his name to Metta World Peace.

Exactly. In their day Prince, Hamilton, and Wallace were great for the franchise but they aren't the future. Stuckey isn't good enough to pass on anyone. It's time to rebuid things and not hang on to the past. Right now outside of Monroe who else is there that would impact who you take?

So more like 1 in 100?Im pretty sure Detroit had a big sigh of relief when all these Euros went before Knight. Nightmares of taking Darko before Melo, Bosh, and Wade Im sure is still haunting them to this day. That team is a dynasty if they take Wade or Melo with that pick.

I like the Walker pick. I think his style of play fits the pro game well. Athletic as hell and he can put the ball in the bucket. Could do a lot worse at this point in the draft.

ETA: Walker also showed late in the season and in the tournament that he's a much better passer than given credit for.

I can't disagree and I wanted them to take Carmelo that night. That being said, do the Pistons still have Prince and win the title the way they did if they had gone with Carmelo? It's very hard to know and I don't think there's any doubt they made a draft error in taking Milicic, but sometimes things just work out. It's hard to complain when they won a championship.
