???I usually give my take on trades that others have reported, but again I try to weed out the BS rumors and discuss the ones that actually make some sense.

Your last trade post was Dwight ####ing Howard for Monta Ellis, some guy named Wright and "filler". Nice work, Scoop.

I never reported it as a trade. That whole "trade" was commenting on how insane Magic fans think they can get Ellis on the roster without letting go of Howard, when there is nothing remotely enticing on that roster to get the Warriors to trade a player of Ellis caliber (not that he's all that to begin with).

To state it more simply....

The Warriors have more "trade assets" to get Howard than Orlando has to get Ellis.

I don't see anything on the Magic's roster that I think GS would be interested in. Ellis for Nelson seems like a step backwards.

Doubt that will happen unless the Magic get a 3rd team involved and can dump Biedrins contract. There's really nothing on the Magic roster outside of Howard that is enough to get someone like Ellis. Not saying it's going to happen, but I think it would be more likely the Warriors get Howard to pair will Ellis if that's Howard's wish.A package that involves anyone of the Warriors roster for Howard will be more plausible than what the Magic have to offer for Ellis. Warriors can offer:- Ellis or Curry- Wright or Klay Thompson- Throw in Udoh and whatever the hell you want to make salaries match and get the deal done.The Warriors would be left with...Curry/EllisDavid LeeDwight Howard to build around, which is pretty damn good, IMO, if they surround them with wingmen like Affalo who can defend and shoot.

If you actually read what I wrote, I was trying to show you that unless there is a 3rd team involved or Howard is going to ORL, there is little chance Monta Ellis goes to ORL considering the crap players Dwight Howard is trying to get away from. The funny part is the exact trade I mentioned was rumored to be what the Warriors were offering/NOR wanted in exchange for CP3 (Curry/Thompson/Udoh for CP3).

So sorry Premier, I know it's hard to accept it but Orland is SOL in getting Dwight Howard help this year and the dude is going to leave. Where there is smoke, there's fire.

I'd be frustrated as hell if I were him (or any other Magic fan). They land a perennial top 5/10 player and can't get over the top with him, eventually making a mess of the roster in the process. And I can sympathize because Otis Smith is to the Magic as A.J. Smith is to the Chargers.

I know I've suggested Josh Childress is the 2nd coming, but I don't think I've ever posted a rumor as ridiculous as: Orlando Magic to re-sign a past his prime SG in hopes of trading him back to the team that traded him away in the first place to clear playing time for the younger SG that they hope to acquire.

Peja is a good offensive player who is terrible defensively and was having back problems which made him worthless all over the floor, Jason Kapono is a horrible basketball player who can shoot. Steve Novak is a free agent too, imagine those two on the court at the same time. That would surely be the most unintentional comedy from an NBA duo ever.

He's worked hard guarding much bigger guys and never getting noticed. He deserves the pay day. As a note, dude is center and MIGHT be a hair over 6'4. I saw him out in Houston three years ago and can say with certainty that he's not much taller than me.

Both are implausible, but Howard-for-Ellis is far more implausible than Richardson-for-Ellis.

With the minimum salary threshold the rest of the NBA should do like the Knicks did for the last three years, lots of one and two year contracts of over market value. This year there are more teams with cap that I can remember, other than last year, and its also the weakest free agency class I can remember (I'm sure there have been worse, but not with as much empty cap as this year). I don't think there are gonna be many $10M+/yr contracts, but I see a whole lot of deals similar to the one Chuck Hayes got for players that deserve to be on $2M/yr contracts for one or two years (like Chuck Hayes). The Kenyon Martin/Rashard Lewis type contracts are the most crippling, but having a few Carrol/Diop/Diaw contracts like the Bobcats have may be worse.

The Hornets' interest in Rondo is lukewarm at best, but one scenario in circulation would involve the Indiana Pacers and route former Hornets point guard Darren Collison back to New Orleans and land Rondo with the Pacers and Paul with the Celtics. Yet several other players would have to be involved to make such a deal work -- with more established talent going to New Orleans -- and there was no indication Wednesday that such a deal was close to completion. Apparently the Hornets want Paul George and the Pacers are saying no. Bird would be dumb to not upgrade from Collison to Rondo just because of Paul George.

Caron Butler spending a 2d day with the Nets....at potential $7M for 4-5 yrs is this as bad a signing as I think it is....amnesty Outlaws crappy contract and add this one....or is there upside in Butler im not seeing.....

Jesus. Poor Nets fans, you thought you were getting a great owner but instead hes like a worse version of Daniel Snyder forcing his team to make horrible deal after horrible deal. Its certainly a better contract than Outlaw, but still a horrible contract.

funny thing is reports are Nets are begging him to take the deal and he is hedging for elsewhere! Lol - save the Nets from themselves!!!!
