*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (3 Viewers)

Kevin Garnett may be a ####, and he certainly sets more moving screens than anyone, but he is a joy to watch the way he is all over the place on both sides of the floor. Setting multiple screens on offense, switching and hedging on defense, etc

Mark Mastrov (24 hour fitness founder) is said to be jumping into the Kings race, and to keep them in Sacto. He came in 2nd to Lacob/Guber for the Warriors.
Timely!
I think the 24 Hour Fitness I go to is THE original 24 Hour Fitness. I should ask next time I'm there.
That team is worth half the amount in Sacramento.
Link? New owners would save at least a $100 million keeping it in town in fees and loan repayments. Also doubt Clay Bennett took a >50% value hit by moving that team to OKC.

No link, just speculation. Seattle will build a new arena, Sacramento apparently won't.

False.

I can admit if I'm wrong, but isn't the reason they are selling because Sacramento won't build a new stadium?

Never thought the Lakers would miss the playoffs (still refuse to believe they will), but it's getting a little late to 'turn it on'. Hard to believe they're #11 in the West.Kobe/MWP shoot 13-41 (31.7%) tonight. Rest of team 26-57 (45.6%)

No. Sacramento has had an nba approved arena deal waiting to be signed for about a year now.

One of the si guys floated an idea of millsap/heyward/Watson for rondo and Collins. That gives Boston four shooting guards but I thought that was an interesting idea.

Heyward should be playing SF, the dude is 6'8", I can't think of another 6'8" SG in the NBA.That's an awful trade idea for Boston.

Really? Didn't know that. Why are they selling to someone in Seattle then? (serious question)
The Maloofs backed away from the arena deal last April, allegedly because it would cost them too much money out of pocket. But I think the real reason they backed out is that they're just sick of losing money every year. They're done with Sacramento. They either want to go to a city that they think will fill an arena (Anaheim??) or they want to sell to someone who will give them enough money to pay off their debts (they owe $152 Million to David Stern and the city of Sacramento) and leave them with some profit.

They are completely broke and Seattle has an ownership group willing to shell out a ton of cash. They have been shopping around for someone to give them an arena outright for free (literally), but since the NBA pressured them out of the Anaheim deal they aren't finding any takers.

This is a clear re-statement of the obvious, but good God Damian Lillard is fantastic.
He was amazing last night. I actually have a hard time deciding between Curry and Lillard as to who I'd rather have. Good win by the Warriors last night. Further cements the theory that the Warriors can play with any team as long as they don't have big, strong front courts. If Andrew Bogut comes back watch out.

Portland was on a back-to-back. At home, given how well they've been playing, it shouldn't have been that tight. But Lillard made it close. At least GSW didn't pass on him in the draft. That would've hurt.

At least Brooklyn/NJ didn't trade the pick for Gerald Wallace. And take on Joe Johnson's albatross of a contract.Deron and Lillard would have made a fantastic duo. Then again if Brooklyn kept that pick, they'd have dealt it and likely have Dwight Howard right now.

The Bulls are the most difficult team in the league to figure out. Only team with a better road than home record (10-5 vs. 10-10). Just lost at home tonight by 16 to the Suns (who were 2-17 on road coming in). And it wasn't even close. This after the Bulls won @ NY and MIA in the past week.

On NBATV they had a stat about Chicago shooting less than 40% in almost half of their home games.

Tough loss for the Raptors. Blow a 20 point lead to the team they're going to need to catch to make the playoffs. Bench absolutely terrible today. Missing Jonas and Bargnani really hurts when it means that Acy gets to see the floor. He does not bring a single skill to game. None. No idea how he got drafted. Giving up that 1st round pick for Lowry hurts more and more every game that Calderon makes him look like a D league player.
