Chatter about Celtics moving Pierce to Brooklyn.Humphries, Brooks, and a pick.Boston wants more, Brooklyn doesn't want to give up more.
No way if I'm Boston.
What if they also got teletubby and another 1st rounder?
By now many NBA fans are mulling over Adrian Wojnarowski’s report on Yahoo! Sports that the Celtics are entertaining a deal that would send Paul Pierce to the Brookyn Nets in exchange for Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and a first-round pick. The Celtics are reportedly also interested in Mirza Teletovic and another first-round pick, which would be a steep price for the Nets to pay. However, a person with knowledge of the Nets’ thinking told HOOPSWORLD, “I wouldn’t read much into it.”That should come as some relief to the throngs of Celtics fans who nearly stormed Danny Ainge’s office upon hearing the report. Most NBA fans don’t hold Humphries or Brooks in high regard, but the trade did make sense on one level:The Celtics have more money invested in Jeff Green than Paul Pierce at this point, and Green doesn’t get the opportunities on offense because Pierce is still around. For the Celtics to move forward (they’re not winning a title this year) they’ll need to give Green to be a real factor on offense, not just defense.Furthermore, if the Celtics hope to trade Kevin Garnett, who has a no-trade clause, they’ll need to move Pierce first. Garnett has too much loyalty to Pierce to leave his friend behind.

The Nets are like that annoying kid on teh block, Every team they offer the same pile of crap. Hump+ Brooks + a late first.Any team that succumbs to crap are morons. I cant believe for a second the hawks would take that for Smith, they might as well let him bail on them then take the nothing the Nets are offering. Now if they up these offers to two first rounders and include some other asset like Teletovic then who knows, but its still terrible offers all the time.

Marcus Morris a healthy scratch tonight for rockets. Rumor is he is on the move.Eta - Mchale was twenty minutes late to warmup and told reporters to ask morey why Morris was inactive because he couldn't comment. Also, rockets are 7 million under for this year and set to be about 16 under for next. Trading Morris for an expiring would actually add another. 1.5 of room this summer.

Wow. Morris to Phoenix for a 2. Aldrich, Patterson, and Douglas to Sacramento for Robinson. So the pf pecking order is Robinson, jones, and donuts. Amazing - Patterson and Morris had been getting 95% of the pf minutes when healthy. They both had limited post offense and shot a lot of threes. Neither rebounded well.

 Phoenix put the Morris boys back together.

Kings also sending back a second round pick, Tyler Honeycutt, and Francisco Garcia. Already giving up on the #2 pick is weird.

And as important, the rockets sent out 5 million in 2013-14 salary and only took back 3.5. So they cleared another 1.5 million for the summer. Muahahahahaha

He was an awful fit next to Cousins, even if he was playing effectively, those two would have a really hard time coexisting.

Typical kings move. Now, I haven't seen anything from Robinson to make me think he'll be even a decent nba starter, but giving up on a top pick after half a season for a medicore vet? Just another blatant cash dump. Maloofs jcouldn't resist making one last terrible move.

All on ISO plays

Nbadraft.net compared him pre draft to Patrick Patterson and Derrick Williams. Not sure I think Robinson will be that limited, but he does appear to run the floor well and play well in pick and roll. That means he has a chance to be solid in Houston. Asik is not a big part of the offense so Robinson should have some looks. A couple more observations. Getting Robinson does not reduce the chance of Houston going after josh smith as a free agent. In fact, the power forwards on the roster have reduced in size by one and more cap room created. The assumption is that Robinson has been brought in to play but maybe morey was clearing the logjam for donuts (who has played tonight) or jones. As it is, a core of harden, Lin, Asik, parsons, and Robinson is something to get exited about for us rockets fans.

This Austin Rivers kid is amazingly bad on defense. Who exactly is he supposed to be guarding?
And his defense is his strong suit. He is having one of the worst years of any player to ever get significant playing time. He has a .413 TS%, that is incredibly terrible for a player that actually gets playing time. While looking at where he sits in the league with his TS%, I saw that Hibbert is at .444. Hes never been very efficient but holy #### is that awful. I don't even know how that is possible being 7'2" and having the ability to catch the ball near the hoop.

How is this possible? If he gets back in the game, watch him. He was wandering aimlessly around while guys were dribbling to the basket.

After watching about two quarters of that game I turned it off. Its tough for me to be interested in a game that features two of the worst teams in the NBA, even if Davis and Irving were playing.

Robinson has a fantastic motor, and maybe slightly above average athleticism, but tries to play way too fast and as a result is a mess offensively. A little undersized at the 4. Can't shoot. But I can see him figuring it out with more experience.

Wow, Deron Williams can't ice the game with a FT, and then at the other end fouls Monta Ellis beyond the 3-point line.Lucky, for him that Ellis bricks all three FT's.

Best win of the year. Harden with 46. Lin with 29. Combined they were 10 of 13 from deep. Asik leaves with a sprained ankle but everyone played well against a great team. Go rox.

I'll be rooting for Morris and Patterson. Both were class acts and hard workers and while they aren't stars, they can be contributors.

Nice deal for Robinson by Rockets. Amazing they gave up on him after 1/2 a season. Not high on his offensive skills, but the type of athletic player (something the Rockets lack outside Harden) that'll get easy buckets off Harden. Like the Suns getting the Morris's brothers together for a 2.

I am in shock that the Kings gave up on Robinson this early. At the very least, couldnt they have gotten much much better than patterson?I honestly dont understand that deal, it feels like when the Nets dealt for Gerald Wallace last year.

Rockets gave a million in cash. Maloofs jumped on it.

My favorite part of that deal is the 2nd rounder the Kings had to give the Rockets!Morey: Um, you want me to take the #5 pick off your hands, the guy you drafted before Monroe and Lilliard, the PF on your roster who isnt a knucklehead, and not get any draft picks for him?Kings Rep: Listen, Send us Patterson, that big White dude Cole Whatever and that little nugget Douglas and you guys can get T-Rob, save cash and we will throw in a 2nd round pick which is like a late first since we are terrible.Morey: Alright, i guess we have a deal, but only because I really like you guys, normally I would demand at least another lottery pick for Patrick Patterson

I know I am a homer, but last night's Houston / OKC game was one of the best non-playoff games I've seen in a really long time. Consider that OKC was up 14 with seven minutes to go. Durant had a triple double, Westbrook had 28 / 10 / 8. Sefalosha had 28. Lin and Harden combined for 75 points, 16 boards and 14 assists and shot 10-13 from three point range. Harden hit a three from half-court (a shot, not a throw) to end the third which proved to be the winning margin. And Harden had some sick one-on-one plays in the fourth where he dribbled here, dribbled there, and then hit a step back jumper to build the lead.
