I heard Jackson interviewed on the Dan Patrick show today and he said he thought the trip was a dirty play - only the trip though, nothing else.

He thought the Bogut one wasn't but the Green one was. He also said something along the lines of what Green did won't be tolerated, yada yada yada.

 
I was at game 3 of the GS/Denver series, and I had great seats (for a change - can't often afford them; these were given to me) and I was amazed at how good both teams played in that game. The level of talent on both rosters was impressive. Denver has great depth, and they come at you with waves of athletic players. I had a newfound respect for the Nuggets.

Faried lost my respect with the cheap shot in game 5; particularly since it was directed at Curry. In my mind, he was the instigator; subsequent retaliations by Bogut & Green were flagrant, but understandable. Faried's move was a chump move. Perhaps this happens a lot in the playoffs, I wouldn't know - the last time I was at a Warriors playoff game was in 1975.

Anyway, I hope the series goes back to the form it was taking in Game 3, when both teams played at their highest levels, and gave the fans a real treat. Shaq said something after the Faried cheap shot, that Curry "should take it as a big compliment" because it's like Denver is saying "we can't beat you otherwise, so we're going to take shots at you". I guess he was right.

Can't wait for game 6 tonight.

What did he do that you are considering a cheap shot? To me a cheap shot is going at somebody with the intent to injure. You are going to have a very hard time explaining that with the play in question.

It was a little bump. Nothing wrong with a little extra physical play. It wasn't a blatant attempt to injure.

I noticed this as well. He called Durant by the wrong name twice, and once when Durant went up and heaved a 3 that missed terribly late in the game when Thunder was down like 8 or 9, he said "Houston really wasted that possession, they needed points there"

I said this before, even when Melo was filling up the scoring sheets this season, he is difficult to watch since he never passes out of double or triple teams when there are always guys open. Knicks cant handle adversity, the second the game goes the other teams way, they stop moving the ball and JR and Melo take turns playing hero ball.

Yes and yes. But I don't see how bringing in someone of his stature could be a bad thing. He would give the front office some respectability; something it is sorely missing.

I would compare what Faried did to an NFL lineman chop blocking a DE would is already engaged with another blocker. It wasn't so much the force with which Faried bumped Curry, more the fact that the bump came "out of nowhere" as Curry was engaged with another defender, trying to work his way open. It doesn't take a big hit to injure someone, particularly someone with Curry's ankle history. Faried obviously knew what he was doing, and if he would have injured Curry & knocked out for the game, or the year, he would have been proud. That's why I lost respect for Faried. Chump move. While I don't condone the retaliations by Bogut & Green, I understand them a lot more than Faried. A lot of these players and coaches are better than me - as I said, if I were Bogut or Ezeli or Green, and that #### happened, Lawson or Iguodala would get clotheslined at the earliest opportunity.

 
What happens to the Clippers tonight? I am always so hopeful for them and they end up not advancing in the playoffs as far as I would like. All the momentum seems to be with the Grizzlies right now.

 
Should the Heat eventually take on the Knicks, whenever the Heat are up 3-0/3-1, they should wear the all black uniforms in honor of the Knicks funeral.

Griffin is a game time decision. It'll be a tough go for them if he can't play. Crawford/Billups/Butler need to show up.

I like Memphis to go to the finals.

You asked me to explain why I wrote what I did, and I explained. As you said earlier, a cheap shot is going at somebody with the intent to injure. To me, that's exactly what Faried did.

 
Too bad we won't have David Kahn to kick around any more, although Flip Saunders is no lock to be a huge improvement.

Meh. Really don't see the need to do that. Been here before and the Knicks' hero ball will never be a threat to beat a healthy Heat team in a 7 game series.

As long as Melo is leading this Knicks team, they'll never be a threat. Any time this team is in trouble, they revert to stagnant hero ball.

Knicks will make more headlines off the court than on it.

 
Sad to see the Bulls dropping like flies in their most crucial game of the year.

Deng (ill) won't play. Hinrich & Rose out. Noah playing with planter fasciitis. Nate and Taj both ill. Looks like they should play.

Odd Jackson would send Jack to the bench after starting Games 2-5 (winning 3 of 4) and averging 23/5/7.

Guy is a great facilitator for GS. IMO They got to find a way to re-sign him.
