All the talk recently is about his Len kid. So they won't be taking him....
It will be interesting to see who Vegas favors to win the series right now.As much as I hate to say it, I still think the Heat win.
Miami, anywhere between -115 and -135 depending on the book. Heat favored by 7 in game 6.It will be interesting to see who Vegas favors to win the series right now.As much as I hate to say it, I still think the Heat win.
Not uncommon at all. Miami will be favored to win each of the next two games, so it's not unreasonable for them to be favored to take the series.Has any other team ever been favored to win the series down 3-2?
Assuming Heat win game 6, they'd have to be favored by as much or more for a game 7 at home, right? I'd imagine the public will be all over them. Not uncommon at all. Miami will be favored to win each of the next two games, so it's not unreasonable for them to be favored to take the series.Has any other team ever been favored to win the series down 3-2?
Without looking it up, I'm sure it's happened before.
I think the Lakers against Boston a couple of years ago.Has any other team ever been favored to win the series down 3-2?
Seriously? It's not defined by steps. It is defined by establishment and releaase of the pivot in relation to gathering the ball. How many steps can a player take with the ball driving to the hoop? Seriously! Is it 5?
Not when Manu draws 6 fouls. The whistles have been coming all night for the Heat!Feels like the Heat have way out worked the Spurs here tonight. If the whistles were coming for the Heat, this would be a Heat lead IMO.
And the Heat two years ago against the Mavs. I liked how that one turned out.I think the Lakers against Boston a couple of years ago.Has any other team ever been favored to win the series down 3-2?
Even money bet?I think it's over. Spurs are too much of a veteran team to let this slip away. They will come out hard game six and put it away.
Just looked at that... Heat are slight favorites to take the title. Per the odds, if they played it out 33 times the Heat win 17 and Spurs win 16. I still like the Spurs. It will be interesting to see who Vegas favors to win the series right now.As much as I hate to say it, I still think the Heat win.
I was wondering this. Why was Birdman sitting on the bench last night? Was he hurt?
Hasn't been playing much all series. I assume he was in the Bulls and Pacers series to counter those teams' rebounding advantage. Spurs are not a great rebounding team so that's not a problem here.I was wondering this. Why was Birdman sitting on the bench last night? Was he hurt?
He has been the X factor but I'd hardly call him the series MVP. The shooting is the only reason he is in the discussion. He is averaging 4 boards a game now.If you want to talk about defense and rebounding, Leonard is your guy. Not to say Green is chopped liver but he isn't up to that level. Unreal shooting display and the guy has turned himself into a legit NBA player but let's not go overboard here.Duncan probably wins the voting, but Green has been the series MVP so far. He's effectively shooting 80% from the field in decent volume, playing great defense, and rebounding well when SAS goes small.Whatever Green does will never top this transcendent moment in his career, but don't let Green's shooting display blur out what a great all-around series the guy is having. No brainer? He doesn't really do much else. Averaging an assist and a bit over 3 boards through 4 games to go with his 16 points. Duncan at 15/11. Parker at 13/7. Odds are it goes to Duncan as a going away present unless someone else takes it from him assuming the Spurs win.
Yes.You need your wife to tell you that "The Big Fundamental" is a fundamental basketball player?
remind me: what happened last year against OKC with the Spurs?I think it's over. Spurs are too much of a veteran team to let this slip away. They will come out hard game six and put it away.

Would you feel confident taking Miami from -115 to -135 in 7? For the gambling folks (and I'm not one of them), got to think one would have to be thinking pretty heavily about putting money on the Spurs here.TobiasFunke said:Even money bet?Beerguzzler said:I think it's over. He should be playing instead of Haslem IMO. Haslem is doing nothing out there.TobiasFunke said:Hasn't been playing much all series. I never understand this place. I later say it is an unreal shooting display. Everyone just sort of jumps on the exact verbiage and goes from there. Regardless, the guy won't be the MVP with Duncan putting up 16/11 or TP putting up 16/6.6.Ferris Bueller Fan said:Not many guys shoot an eFG% of .800 over any stretch of 53 shots. 4 rebounds a game is outstanding for a guy primarily playing SG. It's the equivalent of a PF/C getting about 9 boards a game.
I don't recall saying that Green was playing better defense than Leonard, but acknowledging Leonard is playing great D doesn't take away from what Green is doing. SAS is an outstanding defensive team with many outstanding defenders. Leonard is doing a fantastic job on the glass, which is part of why SAS has gotten away with moving him to PF to counter MIA going small. But don't give Leonard too much credit for his defense - the whole team's primary responsibility on defense is too keep Leonard's man from scoring. If you want to talk about defense and rebounding, Leonard is your guy. Not to say Green is chopped liver but he isn't up to that level. Unreal shooting display and the guy has turned himself into a legit NBA player but let's not go overboard here.
Are you confident that Lebron won't pick and choose which halves to play during these last two games? Not sure what that was in the 2nd half last night... he looked like the 7th best player on the court through most of it. He has had some head scratching halves/games in this series.Spurs got their ### handed to them...if I recallsaintfool said:remind me: what happened last year against OKC with the Spurs?Beerguzzler said:I think it's over. Anyway....Over? nothing is over until wee decide it is....was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? (Germans? Forget it he's rolling).
In all seriousness. It so far from over.
The only thing I'm confident in is the opposite of whatever you think will happen. MIA blowout on Tuesday, Spurs win a close one in game 7. Now you can all proceed with proper betting strategy. The only thing I'm confident in is the opposite of whatever you think will happen. is he going to walk his soon-to-be-ex-wife down the aisle when she remarries too? maybe pay for their honeymoon while he's at it?I think Duncan will win MVP if SAS wins the series and I wouldn't think the voters as a group got it wrong if he does. He's the constant who makes everything else they do work. And to Duncan's credit, he's probably rooting for Green, Parker, or Leonard to win it - he seems to take great joy in watching teammates improve, make big plays, and win awards.
Still, the most consistently impressive performance in the Finals, and throughout the whole playoffs really, is Popovich's courtside interviews. He's unstoppable.
This seems like a major spacing issue for their offense. They were baiting him yesterday and sagging way into the lane.Ferris Bueller Fan said:He's lousy at them. Didn't shoot them in college, never learned them in the pros. He's like a 29% three-point shooter for his career, and has never been close to average at shooting them in a season. This doesn't bode well for him aging gracefully, BTW. Most SGs who were effective into their mid-30s accomplished it by shooting threes well and/or wisely. Wade can't do either.Britney Spears said:Has Wade always been unwilling to shoot threes?
Here is the BS Report all about it.What happens with Doc Rivers if a trade with the Clippers doesn't happen? Does he just go back to coach the Celts disgruntled?
KG is an upgrade over Jordan but how long will be able to stay upright?
I agree with this, but I'm very surprised to see you making this argument.I think Duncan will win MVP if SAS wins the series and I wouldn't think the voters as a group got it wrong if he does. He's the constant who makes everything else they do work.
Looking back through the thread, I see that sporthenry started the anti-Green for MVP thing. Probably worth mentioning that he is a Duke fan, and Danny Green once did this. Yeah, Ferris already posted something along those lines. But I'm glad you are bringing some quality posts into the discussion.ETA: And I actually don't mind Danny Green. Guy has carved out a nice role, worked hard going from D-league to a big contributor in the finals, but he isn't any more valuable than TP or Duncan at this point. If he has another 25 point game to close out the series, that might change.Looking back through the thread, I see that sporthenry started the anti-Green for MVP thing. I'd say they're generally leaning Miami.I don't disagree Green should be the MVP if SA wins. I just find it funny game to game how the media plays this series. So if The Heat win......who will be the MVP?
Right now the last two games Dwayne Wade has been really good. If the Heat are to win this series. Lebron has to be great.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I have not watched or listened to any reactions from last nights game on any of the major sports shows. Are the talking heads leaving The Heat out for dead again? Or is there a decent amount of them thinking Miami at home can pull this off?
