Shout out to our Duke boy Shane Battier.

The man came to play on the biggest stage tonight.

5/7 from 3pt land......HUGE.
I honestly had no thoughts of LeBron and Wade winning any titles until Battier came to Miami.

I know he's lambasted continually but the guy puts in the grunt work like few others. Adding in the Birdman and you've got some serious bluecollar worker bees to go with the "big three"...seriously...can we stop calling Bosh one of the "big three"...it's just gotta stop.

Off-season question number 1:

Is Wade descending quickly or was he just unhealthy?
Wade was having a tremendous year until he hurt his knee.

He will be back again. And play well. But he is getting older no question. But I watched every Heat game this year. He was on fire till he bruised that knee. He is a warrior. Tough guy. No question he gutted it out.

You didn't think they had a chance until they got Battier? OOOOOOOOOOkay

Like I said 3 pages ago, goodbye Duncan. Love you!
He certainly can still play. They need to send Ginobli packing and Parker too and use their 27M on some people that will show up for a game 7 and give DDuncan and Leonard some support.
Yeah, send Parker packing and see what you get back. Maybe they can get George Hill back. That will cure all their problems. Dude was just spent.
10 points in a game 7. Not too good. Need to step up when you're one of your teams top scorers.
Again, who do you get back that is any better?
Like I said, you have 27M to work with with Parker and Ginobli's contracts. That's a lot of coin. You could sign anyone with that. Paul would be a nice replacement with some money left over.
Moving Parker would be insane.
They almost moved him a few years ago. Paul would be an upgrade.
Sure, and they don't have to compete with any other team for his services. Why does he go to a team whose window is seemingly closing when he can go somewhere whose window is just opening. And if they lose out on Paul, now what?
1) The spurs are probably the most well run organization in the NBA2) The spurs win every year. 14 straight years 50+ wins.

3) no income tax in texas if you want to consider a financial benefit

where else would you want to go if you were paul? stay with the clippers and get knocked out of the first round again? if they trade parker for a high pick and sign paul and another role player, they'd be better off than they are now.

you obviously care enough to pay attention.
Whatever.....hard not to hear him at a sports bar and grill when your having lunch and the guy is on 15 TV screens.....give me a break.

I know Lebron is only 28, but I think Spoelstra needs to take it easy in the next regular season on James and Wade. Give them nights off, play them fewer minutes, etc.

From what I know, Miami doesn't have a lot of room to do anything this off-season. Should be the same cast of characters I would think.

Congrats to Miami. LBJ just too much again. SA should have closed out game 6 better. I'm proud of the Spurs though. They played with great heart against an all star team down to the wire on the road. 4 titles will have to be enough for now. The Spurs took a big step forward from last year to this year with virtually the same team. If they can take another step forward next year despite the age of Duncan and Manu I will be impressed again. Good season guys and again congrats to MIA.

question for Pop: why not put Diaw in the game over Green, especially down the stretch?

he was doing some good work defensively. he's able to shoot 3's and can pass. it would have given them some help on the boards too. i understand most, if not all, of the substitutions in the game for the spurs but this one.

Yep...this will be the same team going into next year for the most part. I think the 27 game streak kinds threw Spo for loop in getting his studs some rest before the post season. They all wanted to keep that going. And that was where Wade had the injury.

They will recharge and give it a go again. I am confident they can do it again. It will be even harder than the last 3 years...but they can get it done. When you have Lebron.....it helps!!!

yeah, agree with that. no explaining that. green was just awful. diaw was a lot more effective on defense and like you said, the rebounding help would've been nice.

It might be harder beating Indianapolis than beating a Western Conference team. Spurs played amazing, but no way they can do this again. Heat would roll them next year. I'm not seeing another team that could beat this Heat team unless some major moves happen.

They gonna continue to get players like Andersen whose are still being paid a lot of money by other teams.

I don't know what they'd get for him. A power forward/center who loves to shoot threes and take outside shots and can't match up against the big men of the league. They'll keep him. Hey, he has two rings.

I think going into tonight if you had the opportunity to take the "Battier will have to be the guy that beats us" deal, you'd take it.

Indy probably won't have major changes. Maybe an upgrade at the point. Chicago will probably be back in some capacity. OKC will be back. And then if CP3 and Howard team up somewhere with some veterans they could have some fun.

And the Bulls with a healthy Rose. Heat has it's work cut out again next season. But this is special.

I could not be happier. A long way from the Rory Sparrow, Kevin Edwards, Billy Thompson, Sylvester Gray days. And Lewis Schafell telling us Billy Owens is the most talented player The Miami Heat have ever had.

Ill give it up to Pops for his postgame with the Heat players and coaches...showed a lot of class.

Great game to watch for sure and I think a lot of the critics can hush on Lebron for a while.

Yeah, he creates his own shot but I'm not sure he'd make them better. If they can trade him for a PG, things might be in luck. As someone mentioned, West is a FA but I just assumed he'll sign with the Pacers.

green does okay on defense and the little things. i get that but i would give diaw - who does a lot right too - some of his minutes, especially in the 4th.
