*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (5 Viewers)

The floor was a big story in the Pacers/Warriors game. WTH with it being like ice? Players for both teams falling and risking injury. The announcers were blaming it on the NBA decals, but I think it was something else like too much gloss on the floor. Good grief!

Oh and Go Pacers! Good win. Curry is amazing!!!
The Dubs lost, but I'll take it. They played far from their best ball (Pacers D will do that), but towards the end they were still in game despite missed free throws from David Lee, Klay and Curry missing clean 3 point looks, and Bogut having to leave in crunch time because of his knee (just when they were stringing together defensive stops).

I was excited to see how the Dubs fared against the Pacers because they are a unique team and IMO they didn't look so bad considering this type of team (big and physical) would completely destroy us in the past. This is where we really miss Jermaine O'Neal and Festus Ezelie. Hopefully both should be coming back soon. #fullsquad

Lance Stephenson was the difference last night. Guy is fulfilling his potential. Loved the time he ran over Curry, showed a little emotion, then quickly showed that he's matured and backed away.

A guy wiht that talent having confidence and knowing how to play with anger yet play responsibly is very very valuable.

The best part is I knew what that was going to be before I clicked on it.
That is great. I hope Carmelo gets traded this year. See what he can do on a contender.
Ask and ye' shall receive! http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mwwxckm
I was waiting for that. haha

Carmelo might actually go somewhat cheap if a team also takes the contract of JR. I would if I were them.

Bulls dominate Cavs in Cleveland.

How is it these guys keep striking gold at PG? (last year Robinson & this one with Augustin).

Chicago 6-2 since Deng trade.

So if you were putting together the all-worst defensive team, who would be on it? Kyrie Irving would have to be the starting PG.

For those of you with HBO, do yourself a favor and watch the re-airing of this week's Real Sports.

There is a feature on the new Kings owner who kept the team in Sacramento. Here is a preview clip. Absolutely brilliant man. He grew up stinkin' rich in India, and came to Boston as a teenager with $50 in his pocket. He ended up with a Master's and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from MIT, then got his MBA from Harvard.

Oh, then he started a software company which is now worth about a trillion dollars. How's your day going?

He likely won't end up winning Coach of Year, but Jeff Hornacek deserves mad props for the job he's doing in Phoenix in year 1.

At the halfway point of season, they're 24-17 (1 win shy of last season's total). Starting 3 new players [(Gerald Green/Miles Plumlee who were riding the pine last year for IND & Channing Frye (health reasons)], a guy who was out of the league until last year in PJ Tucker, and has had his best player miss 1/2 of the season to date (Bledsoe) and a 1st round pick (Len) that's done nothing whatsoever.

I think they just got a whole lot more attention after destroying IND 2nite. Indiana got flat outworked and couldn't stop Phoenix on offense.

Hard not to like this Suns team. No real star player and they just crushed the Pacers. I'm not sure a casual fan would recognize any of their players.

Bargnani really deserves his own thread.

The latest

I don't see the problem with this one other than the travel before he put the ball on the floor. He took the ball hard to the basket and got fouled.
It was more about physical comedy than breaking down the decisionmaking
Ah. I guess I'm just a little more immune to it. After watching the gangly ******* for 7 years, his awkward drives just don't faze me any more.

As a Pacers fan I am hesitant to put George in

the top 5. I think he certainly deserves to be top

10 and that's a nice accomplishment.

I do know that at this point, I wouldn't trade him for any other wing, all things considered.
You wouldn't trade him for kD or leBron?
Neither.
Stop it. I'm a Pacers fanand that's just stupid. I can't stand Lebron, but I'd trade George for him in a heartbeat.
That's you. If the Pacers trade for LeBron, it changes the entire dynamic of their team. LeBron doesn't play the defense George does. And LeBron would overshadow every other player. That's not the case with PG. This Pacers team is balanced and any number of players can shine on a given night. That wouldn't be the case with LeBron in the house. So, call me stupid all you want, I'll stick with PG.
What are you talking about? Lebron is the best defender in the league.
When he wants to. He isn't going to play 48 minutes of Defense the way he'd have to in Indiana.
:lmao:

This is amazing.

I also like the idea that the Pacers are balanced now but wouldn't be with LeBron in the fold. George puts up 17.2 FGAs every 36 minutes this season. LeBron is at 16.0.

USA Basketball released the team before cuts today.

http://www.usab.com/mens/national/14_mnt_roster.html

Some players that are surprising are Beal, Farried, and Korver.

Some players that aren't on the roster that I think should be: John Wall and Brook Lopez. -Can't think of anyone else at the moment.
John Wall was probably Coach K's biggest recruiting whiff in the last five years. Just sayin'

Seriously, after watching him post the ugliest triple-double in the history of basketball last night (9-29, 6 turnovers, 5 fouls, home loss to Celtics playing without Bradley or Rondo) he can't even really complain. Maybe this will light a fire or something.

7 PGs are on the list. I don't think they want to drop Rose due to injury. I don't have an issue with him being off. The U.S. is deep in PGs.

Holy hell. I don't think you could have found a worse possible deal for Hornets.
They could send Ryan Anderson out for Kendrick Perkins, Anthony Davis for J.R. Smith, and Jrue Holiday for Brandon Jennings. Totally works under the cap rules.
