I think you need your vision checked. He clearly has two feet inbounds and is about to step on the 3 point line before being restrained. If he was 10 feet onto the court he'd be in the middle of the fight.

And he was sixteen inches from where he was standing by the bench when the play began, with a coach between him and the action, and doing nothing more than sauntering. I think you'd have to stretch pretty hard to make a case he did leave the immediate vicinity. Hardly "automatic," and not even close to the kind of letter-of-the-law slam dunk the Ewing/Houston fiasco brought about.

I don't think either team matters at this point, but I seriously don't see anything happening here.

The only travesty would be if they ding Butler but leave George alone, IMO.

Hoiberg and Kerr are the top choices. Kerr seems like a solid choice. I agree with his commentary far more than I ever did with Jackson.

If the NBA worked like the NFL.... I would love to keep Jackson as "head coach" and the team hire an "offensive coordinator", but from the sounds of it I doubt Jackson's ego won't let that happen. The players love Jackson and play hard for him and Jackson has kept every single player from Curry down to Speights involved and willing to play hard, but the offense is relies on too much isolation for a team that has great passers, shooters, and basketball IQ.

I was just gonna ask if it's been reffed like this all game. Didn't catch the first half, but in the last 4 possessions they called goaltending on Lee when Jordan touched the ball on the rim. They called a ticky tack foul on Green and then they called Thompson for a foul after Deandre shoves Lee under the basket on a rebound. Don't like it.

It hasn't been like this all series. Guys are hacking Griffin every time he gets the ball with few calls.

Griffin is a massive flopper (head jerk on every drive pretty much), so I think there is a bit of boy who cried wolf going on.

I guess we interpret 'immediate vicinity' differently. I see him leaving the bench and coming onto the court as leaving the immediate vicinity especially when the altercation is taking place right there.

I think its a terrible rule that needs to be changed and don't want a series altered because of it but the NBA has set a precedence for it. They absolutely screwed the Suns on with the same rule so who it is and what game it is should not matter.

And yes, it would be a terrible joke if they suspend Butler and not George.

2) Reddick's 6th on that block call. That is about as 50/50 a call as there is. JJ is sliding, but Barnes lowers his shoulder into his chest.

Those are 2 tough breaks that lead to 3 points in a 1 posession game.

Griffins 6th has been a POE for over a decade. An elbow/knee/hip tap on a jump shooter gets called more often than not.

Reddick was going down before the contact, you can tell by the way he lands. If he waits and takes in the chest he will slide back, not go splat straight down.

A touch is not the same as a tap.....and they let it go constantly. I think the reason Blake got nailed was the poor angle the official had on the play and the way Iggy went down like he was shot by a sniper.

And how a player lands has nothing to do with the contact that was made, how it was made and who initiated it (what determines a foul).

In both cases, the refs got caught reading the reactions and not being able to see the actual contact to determine the foul. Griffin's foul was ticky tack and Reddick's was truly 50/50.

The only truly egregious call was the absurd foul on Lee when Jordan was behind him on the rebound. Not sure what the heck the ref was looking at there.
