*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (7 Viewers)

the NBA is full of all kinds of problems.. but at least it's looking like the final 4 will be the proper teams that belong after there were some serious scares in round 1.

No league does as good of a job at eliminating upsets as the NBA
We shouldn't even have a first or second round... Straight to the conference finals after the regular season.

AMIRITE?
i think 8 teams should make the playoffs. 1 large conference
To hell with that. Just skip the playoffs altogether and award the championship to the team that finishes with the best record, right?
i'm absolutely fine with that if you make a regular season where each team plays each other team 3 times.... all conferences and divisions eliminated.

Although I'd still be fine with the top 2 teams playing a best of 9 nba finals

One of, if not the most successful league in the world agrees with you. America does sports wrong. No playoffs, inter-season cup and relegation is infinitely better.

A 7 game series in soccer would be great if they could play every other day. It would be infinitely better than a team parking the bus after scoring an away goal in the first leg.

Which league is that? I imagine the most watched soccer games are champions league matches (besides World Cup/Euro) which aren't associated with any individual league and look a lot more like American sports with the best team not always winning. Soccer leagues are more fair but apart from the Man City win on the last day are largely boring by the end. I think its pretty difficult to say that America does sports wrong with an event like the Super Bowl.

Would you agree that in MLB the best teams usually make the playoffs?

I AM OUTRAGED! That ball is clearly off AK47 yet Brooklyn retains the ball. How come NOBODY is talking about this?! I expect SteveASmith to erupt tomorrow. Spo better torch the refs.

I'm shocked Kerr took the job after reports had leaked saying the Knicks were willing to give him a 4 year like he demanded. All this for a rookie head coach.

5 years and $25 mil for someone who has never coached seems insane. Wouldn't be my money either way.

I know system wise he doesn't mesh with Phil but gotta think Mark Jackson would be the guy who could get and keep talent and also have the NYC fans' full support.

After reading about Mark Jackson it seems like he was only a part time coach, and part time preacher. I would rather have someone like Kurt Rambis or Lionel Hollins.

I think someone like Jackson could do well with a reclamation project like the Knicks for the short term. He was able to get the Ws to play hard for him and the Knicks' offense is going to feature a lot of isolations for Anthony anyway. Sometimes it takes a different type of coach to get a team from 35 to 50 wins as it does to get the same team from 50 to 55 wins.

Part time coach, full time preacher.

Dude will get exposed like Mike Brown to be a hack coach without Curry to bail him out.

Jackson could be a great coach, if he eventually learns the x/o's.

I love that Golden State fired one former tv announcer who had never coached just to turn around and hire.....another tv announced who has never coached.

Man, Joe Johnson was amazing against LeBron in the 2nd half right before he turned back into Ski Mask Joe.

Good luck tomorrow Pyzza...we'll be waiting.
