Of course there's the uncomfortable situation you're put in rooting for a guy like Stephenson, that's no picnic either.

I'd say most CHA fans are against getting Stephenson*. Him being a ####head doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't fault Cho for passing on him, especially the closer he gets to requiring a max offer. As a player, he's really exactly what CHA desperately needs. I'd love it if his being an ####### created a discount, but I'm sure we won't get so lucky.You might be better off. *Of course, many seem to be under the impression that Afflalo could be had by just swapping the 9th and 12th draft picks. Some seem to be under the impression that Klay could be had with an equally ridiculous deal.
I'm not terribly opposed to Deng, but I think I'd rather just stand pat if he's the only option. Making a big expenditure on a guy that's 28 and doesn't really spread the floor like we need just doesn't make much sense to me.

They aren't that young and impressionable. Ben Gordon and Luke Ridnour both have lots of experience.
Well, I take it back then. In Gordon and Ridnour they certainly have a solid group of savvy and strong willed veterans who will maintain their organization's culture of winning even if they add a hot head in FA.

That was a low blow.
But just so we're all clear, Gordon and Ridnour won't be getting a chance to don the Purple and Teal.
On the Stephenson thing, I really don't know what he's like in the locker room. The Pacers troubles were widely speculated on with nobody really seeming to have a clue as what the dominant factors were.
I'm hoping that he just makes an easy scapegoat when everything goes to hell, but I really don't know.
A bout of fisticuffs with Evan Turner and a history of teammate altercations alone don't worry me. I'm sure Turner's a punk that probably need a little correcting anyway.
Somebody's going to sign the guy and I'm not worried about CHA's youth in particular. We got big Al who'll no doubt keep things in check. Maybe Lance will want to "correct" Zeller, but he needs some toughening up anyway.
When CHA signs a talented FA, it's always going to come with some baggage.

Spurs were down 12 with 11 minutes left and he never came into the game. They were down 12 with 4 minutes left, so it never really got out of hand during that time.

Agreed. My point being, down 12 with 11 to play, you put a top 10 all time player in and win the game. Just terrible coaching. Pop will act like he's above the criticism and he's smarter than everybody in the presser but he was wrong tonight.

Okay. but you act like putting Duncan back in would have guaranteed a win; it wouldn't have. The Thunder weren't getting beat by anyone tonight, and I like Pop's move of benching his starters for the rest of the game, considering the shellacking they were taking.
I watch very few NBA games a year so you know more than me but having an all time player like Duncan, 12 points isn't all that much to overcome.

a. Duncan isn't the beast he used to be. He is still good, but not a top NBA player anymore. Besides, he is not really the type of player to take over a game by scoring at will.

12 points with 11 minutes left is not a huge lead in the NBA. Pop is a tremendous coach., but he is not perfect. He was probably thinking my starters were getting stopped, let's see if another group can get us back into the game.
They did not. Game over they move on to game 5 at home. Starters got some rest in a game he felt they could not win. It's easy to second guess, but the guy knows his team better than any of us. I don't think I second guess his decision as his team was beaten pretty soundly.
I do think this series has taken a huge 180. The Thunder match up really well with a healthy Ibaka (he is playing and helping although he is not 100%). I think the Thunder can absolutely take this now. So they must win a road game. They are capable of that. I think they do it in game 5 and win this in 6.
Heat close the deal tonight and get 7 days off.

Pretty sure you're right. The 1st round was pretty strange and highly unusual.
