Bosh is a better all-around defender, Love doesn't really play defense, all he does is rebound on the defensive side of the ball.

Love is a better outside shooter, can create his own shot, play in the post. Both are stretch 4's. Love might be better in outlet passes, but I think they both have similar skills overall in passing.
Disagree on the Love not playing defense thing. He's white, but still goodish - check the article below. Bosh is such a stud passer that he averaged a whopping 1.1 assists last year (Love averaged 4.4). Love almost doubled Bosh's rebounds from last year too (12.5 - 6.6). He also shot twice as many threes at a much better percentage (.376). Granted this was all done on a crappy team, but a lot of what he adds will fit perfectly with Lebron, imo.

Here's an article on Love's production last year.

Yeah, Love's PER was third in the league. His value added and estimated wins added are double Bosh's.
Love has been making strides on defense the past couple of years, but he still isnt a good defender.

Sometimes its hard to tell how good a defender someone is. When you're playing with James, everyone looks better than they are.

Your argument is VERY convincing.

I'm a bit sad to see Wiggins leave Cleveland, as i was drooling over the Wiggins/Lebron/Kyrie combination.

Love seems to be a stud, although I have to admit I haven't seen a lot of Timberwolves games over the last few years.

Would one of you gurus mind a quick breakdown of Love vs Bosh?
You sir are in a state of delusion. You have taken the bait, hook, line and sinker.

It's cruel.
ok, this is shtick right?

Haven't been in here in a few days, but the thread title has me curious :lmao:
Having lot's of fun in here. Too bad it is all ending either tonight or tomorrow morning. At least we hope so in South Florida.

What I can't stop laughing about is picturing Lebron James in a press conference standing next to Dan Gilbert after how it all ended 4 years ago talking about his return. That alone makes it all so laughable to me.

But more importantly the wisdom being tossed around that Lebron is choosing Kyrie Irving ,Wiggins, A. Bennett, D, Waiters, A Varejao and a bag of chips over Bosh and Wade two guys who he has gone to war with, went to four straight Finals with and won 2 with. Leaving Riley, Spo and Arison for Griffin, Blatt and Gilbert.

Yeah.....that's what he is going to do.

Oh wait though The Timberwolves had a change of heart after turning down Love for the #1 pick before the draft and now want Wiggins.

Yeah O.K.

Meltdown? Impossible I tell ya. It will go beyond all common sense and reason and be a slap in the face of team sports and brotherhood. Lebron ain't leaving his soldiers in the fox hole. He has more fighting to do with Bosh and Wade and whomever Riley brings in for the ride. But like I have said if.....if for that .00001 chance he goes to Cleveland I wish him well and thanks for the ride!

GO HEAT!!!!!!!

Have heard this a couple of times. My understanding is a deal was in place, but Love wouldn't sign an extension so the Cavs pulled out (teehee).
Ok that makes sense. I can understand that.

I think you don't understand the value James had on your squad. It wasn't 3 guys, working hard, and getting to four straight finals. It was one of the top 3-5 players in NBA history dominating the Eastern conference for 4 straight years.

Yes, I do. I think Wade and Bosh aren't that good anymore, and Lebron knows it.

He could not do it alone. Lebron is the very best player in the world. But even the best (Jordan, Magic, Bird etc etc) need running mates. Your short selling Wade and Bosh big time.

Lebron will not though. He knew it after what he went through in Cleveland and when they could not get at least one more star around him.

According to Mary Schmitt Boyer from The Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Cavaliers made an interesting offer for Kevin Love last summer.

Allegedly, Cleveland offered Minnesota the first overall pick in the 2013 draft, Tristan Thompson, and Dion Waiters in exchange for Love. Mercifully, new POBO Flip Saunders turned down this rumored deal, and the Cavs are still searching for that piece that will supposedly lure LeBron James back to Ohio.

Of course, that offer was laughable at best. Waiters is essentially an inefficient, hefty chucker that fancies himself a ‘natural scorer’. Thompson is a nice player, but will never be more than a rotational piece/third big on a playoff team. And the number one overall pick in one of the worst drafts in recent memory, well, it wasn’t your typical #1 draft pick. Embarrassingly, the Cavs ended up reaching for the chunky version of Derrick Williams (Anthony Bennett), and likely kicked away that selection altogether.

Somehow, there are folks out there in Internet Land that believe that this offer was of the ‘Godfather’ variety, and the Wolves have already overplayed their hand. Clearly, if Saunders turned down this offer, he’ll simply keep turning down offers throughout the next calender year. In the NBA, teams cannot afford to simply fork over a top-six player who might leave, in two years, for two or three unknowns. Wolves fans have certainly seen their fair share of mismanagement up close and personal, but accepting a trade like this would have been as hideous and costly an example as possible.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer piece goes on to suggest that the Wolves don’t need guards, and alas, guards are the only thing that the Cavs could offer. This is blatantly erroneous, of course. The Wolves do, in fact, need guards. They have a starting point guard (Ricky Rubio), and the only other point guard on the roster is J.J. Barea, whom they are likely trying to move. The only true shooting guard is Kevin Martin, althoughCorey Brewer and Chase Budinger can masquerade as such if need be.

Also, as it turns out, if the Wolves traded Love, how many power forwards would remain on the current roster? The answer, of course, is zero. Dante Cunningham is a free agent, not to mention a role player and alleged felon, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is more small forward than he is a ’4′.

The Cavaliers are simply not a match for the Wolves if they were indeed trying to move their superstar.

Don’t worry, we’ll cover any and all Kevin Love trade “rumors” throughout the off-season, and laugh heartily at those that deserve a large amount of scorn. This alleged offer by the Cleveland Cavaliers falls squarely into such a category.

Yeah, Love's PER was third in the league. His value added and estimated wins added are double Bosh's.
Love has been making strides on defense the past couple of years, but he still isnt a good defender.
Your argument is VERY convincing.
Compared to yours, yes:

"Long criticized for his lack of defense, Love has taken great strides on that side of the ball as well. His 102 defensive rating ties a career best and ties him for the third-best mark on a Timberwolves team that ranks seventh in defensive efficiency.

According to NBA.com (subscription required), the Timberwolves' defensive rating with Love on the court (101.6) exceeds that with him off (103.9), which would mark the first time in his career Minnesota has fared better defensively with him on the floor for two consecutive seasons."

Love being 3rd in defense efficiency means nothing when he is on a team as bad as the T-wolves are on defense. The T-wolves were 26th in the league last year points against giving up 104.3 points. They were also 29th in the league in opponents FG % at 47.1 %. James Harden would make his defense look good on the T-wolves.

Todem, I'm not saying that Wade wasn't a solid running mate for Lebron. They did win two titles, after all. But he broke down in the playoffs two years ago, barely pulling it together. This year he only played 54 games.

Wade scored 19 ppg in the regular season and 17.8 in the playoffs, which is very low for him.

Lebron doesn't need a "running mate" who can barely get through the season and who is getting WORSE at scoring.

Lebron himself, is about to reach the age where he is going to need to take some time off, and you think he's going to sign up to be a running-mate for the next 4 years with an aging 32 1/2 year old player with bad knees?

Alright gents. See everyone on here later this evening. Hopefully we all have some real info and trash talk some more.

It's been a blast since the start of the post season!

Hey I get it. But I think Wade has 2 more solid years left in him. I think we can see a Lebron 3 year maybe 4 year max extension with the last year (year 3 or 4 ) a player option year. I think Lebron and Wade are close enough friends to know if they can do this along with Chris for another 2-3 seasons. I am just going on my hunch and nothing else. We all are for that matter.

It is no question a huge decision for Lebron because he too only has 4-5 years left in his prime. Same for Bosh. I just think they gamble on each other rather than unknown kids. And I feel so strongly Riley will drive that point home.

If you don't call Love a stretch 4, I don't know who would be defined as a stretch 4. Do you even know what the definition of a stretch 4 is? Just because he gets ORB doesn't mean he isn't a stretch 4.

Thnaks for the link T.R.E
The link that shows there was no actual deal structure? To go along with your link about a trade before LAST YEAR's draft? ok
It shows all of this is hog wash. Of course Love would like to go to Cleveland if Lebron is coming. That's why it is not happening. If that trade happened right now...then yeah I would be like wow.

But it is not happening. It's all smoke.

Carmelo Anthony - F - Knicks

Carmelo Anthony will re-sign with the Knicks "barring a last minute change of heart," according to the NY Daily News.
The report adds Anthony had been "agonizing over this" for the past week. "He will have something for everybody on Thursday," an anonymous friend of Anthony said. "He is really torn because this is the biggest decision of his career. But he wants to get it done in New York. He told me he believes in Phil." The Knicks are likely going to have a tough time winning a title this season because of the contracts of Amare Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani, but things will get better next year. Hopefully this news becomes official and more free agents can agree on deals. Additionally, Yahoo! reported just minutes following this news that Anthony circle believes it's always possible to ask for a trade later.

My 2 cents here is this (and I can be totally wrong here). IF Lebron stays in Miami, he gets to be on a veteran team, with his buddies, and can sign for 2 years and then leave when this team is actually over the age cliff. He can then go to Cleveland when those guys start to mature.

If he intends on going there now, he likely goes with the idea of having Mike Miller and Ray Allen to teach these kids how to be professionals and how to contend for a championship. Not to say that youth can't win, but there are going to be some growing pains.

My feeling here is one of 3 things happen:

1) Lebron stays in Miami and they get the band back together

2) Lebron stays but bosh leaves, mainly bc Lebron wants to play with Melo.

3) Lebron goes to Cleveland, and Miller and Ray Allen follow along.

If lebron hasn't personally met with anybody other than the heat (today) then how is anybody anticipating a decision tonight/tomorrow unless he is staying in Miami? Even if he is down to them and Cleveland, I'd think he would need to sit down with the Cavs personally before making any type of announcement, no?
