*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (5 Viewers)

So, what now?

Bosh to Cleveland and they match Parsons.

Melo back to NY.

Bidding on Love trades and Ariza signing gets stupid?

It feels like teams that have already locked up "their guys", even if you think they overpaid, are going to look smarter shortly.

He deserved the grief for the way he announced it last time, and all the respect for the way he announced it this time.

The man grew up. Gotta admire that.

As a life long Heat fan I would be lying if I did not say I am in shock. Shocked he walked away from the incredible success he and the team had down here.

So here we are again. And we must rebuild. Not re-tool.

Bosh is no doubt on his way out the door. So we are in shambles.

Oh well. I will still be watching, rooting and cheering for my team. And hopefully Riley can make some moves over the next couple of years to get us back into contention.

But yeah I am completely and utterly shocked.
You won two championships. It was a great run. Enjoy that. (Things I'll be saying when Saban leaves Bama soon)

I try not to say that about Nick Saban, I know it too. Don't jinx it.

Have the McRoberts and Granger signings ever actually been made official? Thought there was a contigency element to them...

What percent is Todem up to?
100% Heat fan.

That is the only definite.

So....I read the essay. Really touching. I can't blame him at all for wanting to "go home" if it is that important to him. So good for him. I am glad. If that makes him feel whole as a human being I can't fault the guy for wanting to do what his heart tells him.

We (Heat fans) got 4 years of the best basketball we may ever see in our lives. Be thankful and wish Lebron well.

Ok now it's time to see what our team can do going forward as we are yesterdays news now.

Props for handling this well, man.

It's telling that he mentions several of his new teammates by name.......except for Wiggins.
I already forget who he mentioned by name, but wasn't it all guys he already had a relationship with? I don't read much into not hashtagging rooks in the biggest press release of your life.

McBob!

You have recent NBA titles and proof that Riley has rebuilt before.

The true fans will hang in there, I feel bad for Miami fans on some level, especialy the ones that have been rationale about this process.

Good luck real Miami fans.

It pains me to say, but McRoberts' deal still makes the most sense for him.

MIA offered him a little more than CHA, it's South Beach, and MIA now has a bunch of cap space. A couple decent signings and they are as good as CHA anyway.

So a Wiggins/Bennett package to Minn based on the names he included/left out, or reading too much into it?
Reading too much. Not saying it won't happen, but I doubt it was a slight. He was mentioning guys that have been in the league a couple years and "done the work.

Something I haven't seen mentioned- David Blatt must be absolutely ######## his pants right now, assuming this wasn't already known at the time of the hire. At least Spoelstra was around the Heat and Wade and Riley before he took on that massive burden in 2010.

$41.8MM down the tubes for Dwayne Wade.
I suspect he'll still be able to find work.
Not for $41.8 MM, not in two years.
He'll probably make more money now that the Heat don't have any salary cap problems.
I'll take action on that if you want it. He's not a max player anymore.
What action? Not saying he is a max player. Of course he left money on the table in the immediate future but the expectation was that he'd make it back over the course of his contract. More years making more than he is worth in 3-4 years.
