How did Gary Harris make it to #19 - this Nugget fan loving what he is seeing
His size really hurt him. Average SG height is around 6'5. Harris tops out at 6'3. He isn't really a combo so he can't split time at PG. I guess his best fit would be with an oversized PG. His defense is very good but now he'll have to make up more for the lack of height.Offensively, he struggled this year to create for himself. He'll be a shooter but remains to be seen if he can be more than that. Projects as a borderline starter/role player. Slipped a bit and good value but I don't think Phoenix or Boston will regret Warren or James Young. Could see Lavine being a bust but he was more of a homerun type pick. Just a very solid draft in the teens.

Seeing this anywhere?

@mnj_fantasy: @ProjectRoto Package of picks to GS, Thompson Twins (Klay and Tristan) to Minny, Love to Cleveland. Horrible for everyone but @cavs.

So GS didn't want to give up Klay in a package for Love but for picks they are ready to hit the accept button? Yeah ok.

Thinking Bulls made right choice not going after Carmelo hard.

Rose, Butler, Mcdermott, Mirotic, Gasol, Noah, and Gibson. Overall that's a young formidable seven and no one really has big money coming to them anytime soon. Lot of flexibility.

He projects as Tony allen or avery bradley with a jumper. Like you said he's a solid pick in the teens. High floor, low ceiling.

Bucks are having an awesome off season. Top quality free agents. Competent owners are showing they are here to do some good things. The Bucks are going to compete, at least, for fourth in their division... at least.

Miami should still be pretty good, maybe even top 3 or 4 in the East. I don't think wade can carry them but bosh role has changed and the Mcbob addition will help a bit.

Agree. People forget that Bosh is a top player because he sacrificed for the team. They still need a center and will need more from pg though.

They really, really need a competent point guard. Who is out there? Augustin? Hinrich?

And I agree, definitely still a playoff team. Bosh will go back to 20-10, McRoberts was a nice signing, and they are going to sign a good SF. But they really need to replenish depth.

I think they can still make the playoffs but I'll take the under on them as a top 4 seed all day long.

Bosh will get a chance to up his HOF credentials.

Honestly though, the fact that he's almost a lock now says a lot about the basketball HOF.
This argument is tired. His resume is extremely strong even without the 2 rings.
I guess that's the thing. You can talk about the resume, but have you ever watched him play and said to yourself "That guy is one of the all-time greats!"?

Every HOF has gone this route of letting in the really good players instead of only the greats. I agree it dilutes the honor over time.

No, but that hasn't been the bar set to make the HOF.

Exactly. There are rarely more than a handful of "all time greats" at any point. If so, the only current guys to make it would be James, Dirk, Kobe, Duncan, and Nash. There are many many other players worthy of a place in history like wade, pierce, Garnett, bosh, gasol, etc.

I don't want to sidetrack free agent discussion, but Kevin Garnett is without a doubt an all time great.

Not to quibble, but Garnett is way more of an all-time great than Nash is.

I've always wondered why there's some assumed value in having a really selective HOF. I'm not sure why a fan would care. It seems some even find it disturbing in a wussification of America sort of way.

The basketball HOF is what it is. The baseball HOF is what it is. One being more selective really doesn't ultimately matter.

You love basketball and the history of basketball, you go to the HOF and appreciate it. Removing 20% of the very good players from it doesn't somehow make the experience better.

The baseball HOF is more popular, but it has nothing to do with the higher selectivity. It's that it's over century old and has been a much more important sport to most throughout history.

Agree, and I waiver on Nash because he started so late to dominate (26), but he's got more career games under his belt than Dirk, though not starts. He does have a career 8+ Apg and 14 PPG. No title, but 2 MVPs.

I have convinced myself the rockets will match but are simply waiting for deng to be off the market to screw Dallas.
I'm on pins and needles over this Parsons thing.

It never occurred to me that they might not match, but there has been just enough speculation to get my hopes up a little.

Because if they don't, it probably pushes Lance in CHA's arms, and will make a sport out of making fun of Morey. That's a win for everybody.

I don't know, missing on Melo and bosh sucks but I don't know if we were really in the running on the former and can't blame the latter for staying put. Adding one of the better 3-and-d guys and dumping Lin and Asik while improving draft position (essentially) is pretty good. Doubtful they can win it all with this group, but if they add parsons and use the MLE on a defensive big (birdman?) then I can see it working out well.

any chance Rockets don't match parsons and then go after lance?
They would go after lance first and keep parsons, I imagine. I said twenty five pages ago I hoped they would add him. Bev, lance, Ariza, Howard is a stout four piece for a defensive lineup.

deng likley to miami. Heat decide to play this year.
Hearing 2 yrs/19 million. Just a few months ago when asked about a possible return to Chicago, he said sarcastically: "Yeah, maybe they'll offer me 3 years at 30 million" (the extension he rejected that led to him being traded.)

Real smooth Cliff.......

Oh, I know, it can still be a fine off-season, but wouldn't it basically mean he cut his 3rd best player who was due to make a million bucks this season?

That's the sort of move that would make Billy King proud (even if Billy King isn't smart enough to know why he took that chance).
