*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (5 Viewers)

Brandon Rush back to GS for two years, 2nd one is a player option. :hifive:
Nice! He's a solid bench player, will be worlds better than Jordan Crawford as the scorer off the bench. 3 and D guy.

I'd rather take a chance on Rush than pay Meeks or Swaggy P that kind of scratch.

DUBS roster:

PG CURRY, Livingston, Nedo

SG KLAY, Rush

SF IGGY, Barnes, Green

PF LEE, Speights

C BOGUT, Festus, Kuzmic

Even if we don't land Love, I like how this off-season has turned out for the Dubs. Kerr and the coaching staff being the #1 biggest addition. I don't think people realized how the Warriors under achieved on offense.

Still pissed that the Hornets didn't draft Curry. Sometimes it's just not complicated…watch the tape.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRY1oBuG-pA Labron liked it.

I guess it's not surprising, but it's like some people have never seen Love play a single minute.
It seems like several people in this thread only watch once the playoffs start which would make that part a little tougher.
I really like that Melo got demonized for missing the playoffs for the first time in his career with what at times appeared to be NBA caliber players meanwhile everyone's favorite player Kevin Love keeps getting pass after pass for missing the playoffs. You will never convince me that Melo couldn't make the playoffs with guys like Pek, Rubio, Brewer, Kevin Martin etc.

Love for Melo?

And Wiggins.

Articles saying Indy would not offer Lance a shorter deal, say 3/27. They insisted on 5/44.

Having a hard time buying that.
Yeah, I saw some reports that Lance pretty much stopped negotiating with IND after he turned down that 5/44 a couple of weeks ago.

I'm sure it was a combination of factors: fresh start, chance to be featured more on offense, Kemba/Jordan/Ewing, and maybe some hurt pride when an offer bigger than 5/44 never came.

But I can't imagine IND refusing to offer a 3-year being one of them.

James Jones to the Cavs for the min.

Shocking.
Lebron and many fans wanted Jones to get more minutes in Miami, but the knock was he couldn't play D. Miller and Jones are both career 40% 3-pt shooters. Miller won a couple of finals games for Miami and Jones won a playoff game against the Celtics a few years ago. I think Lebron gets his wish in Cleveland and Jones will play consistent backup minutes.

For many stretches in 2011-2014, the Heat's best lineup was Lebron and a bunch of shooters, and no Wade. Irving can create his shot and shoot from long-range, so he is a better complement to Lebron. I agree with Vegas - the Cavs should win it all.

Can I get Alex Shved for 100?

Between playing in Minny and missing so much time, I've never seen him play.
The first time I saw him play in the NBA I didn't recognize him. He had lost weight and grown his hair out. To me he looks nothing like the player at UCLA. I also didn't think he would be this good.

The Cavs should trade for him only if the trade doesn't include Wiggins. Speaking of Wiggins, after the summer league he should be spending all his time working on his three and handle.

I wonder what Parker felt like when LeBron went to the Cavs. Wiggins wanted to go number one and Parker didn't.

I keep hearing in NY about the Knicks 2015 cap room and all that. Who is even available next year as a FA?

Klove, Dragic, Rondo. anyone else worthy of salivating over?
Lebron opts out, 37.4% chance.
I already lost 100 on betting on Melo's future. But I would wager even more that Lebron aint leaving cleveland unless they secede from the States.
I was kidding... I think he is in Cleveland for the rest of his career.
i'd take action on this. Lebron to LAC in 2016 Bank it.
Bitter much?

Cliff's raptors have blown a 29 point league to the rockets in less than a quarter of play. Summer league is the best.
That's about how many points they scored the other night in an entire game  Brazilian KD looking awesome?
Yes. He only looks a year away now.
Toronto papers/blogs say that the 2 years from 2 years thing is way off though they are obviously biased. More of a Greek Freak kind of player with a better shot. Hopefully Casey will let him see the court for 7-8 minutes a game this year.

Another reason Lance left was that he was only high profile free-agent smart enough to realize the golden marketing opportunity available. There's about to be a lot of Purple and Teal flying off the shelves all over the country.

Chandler can keep modeling for Sears catalogs in Texas. Lance gets to be the face of the greatest brand re-launch in sports history (okay, maybe the only one).

Hooophype article today on the subject and how Fran's catchy phrase gave everybody the wrong perception.

money from jersey sales is shared equally, not based on which player's jersey sells more.

I'm talking about his brand, yo.

Not some penny ante royalties.

All of what TRE said. There's no need to panic and take the best offer right now if it's not something you're in love with. Enough teams are interested in adding a 25 year old who may be the best PF in the league that you can afford to wait and hope somebody blinks first and gives up something you really want.

But yeah, Wolves fans are delusional.
Listen the last thing I want is for Lebron to get K Love and lock up the eastern conference for the next half decade, but K Love is an expiring FA. A team that trades for him will need absolute assurances that he will resign with them at seasons end. Not sure he is in a position to do that for anything other than a Cali team or Cleveland since they got Lebron. Minny might be too stubborn for their own good and not get anything for him and watch him walk away for free.
That would be preferable to taking a crappy deal.
Lemme get this straight, you would prefer the TWolves allow Love to leave as a FA with no compensation instead of getting the cheap contracts of Waiters, Bennet and multiple picks?
If it's a sign and trade after the season then you take that deal. Right now? No way.
Go find what Toronto and Cleveland got for Bosh and Lebron in sign and trades. Two picks or a player and a pick TOPS at that point.

Toronto got the pick that ended up being Valancunias out of the deal.

Like I said, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. I'm not too worried about it right now.

But MIA didn't even need those deals to clear the salary to make it happen, did they? And those were some solid picks (like the one you guys are selling as a really valuable piece right now).

Ill take Dieng for 200.

When the Pistons signed and traded Grant Hill to Orlando, they got Ben Wallace and Chucky Atkins back.

I'm not sure how relevant that is, but it's awesome.

Looks like we can put that rumor to bed that the Lakers are not a hot spot for free agents; just inked Ed Davis to 2 yr 2 million dollar deal.

Correct. I'm sure CLE can clear salary to make it happen too (Varejao and Thompson come off, Haywood $10mil non-guaranteed expiring, LBJ opt out). And yes the picks are still valuable, but Minny will be getting 1-2 assets from the same pool of 4-5 that they are looking at now. Klay and Wiggins aren't suddenly going to be added to the mix next summer. Also you lose the 'bidding war' aspect because you are only dealing with whatever team Love picks at that point.
