MJ never won without Pippen. Kobe won 2 rings without another great on his team. Kobe is The Goat

Didn't want to see him die on the court one night.

I don't believe that.Brandon Jennings played in Europe for a year because he couldn't get into the University Of Arizona with a basketball scholarship offer.
I think it was NCAA Division I requirements that he was failing to meet, not the school's. His GPA sucked (either that or he is really, really dumb) and he was taking one of the standardized tests (ACT or SAT), bombed it the first time, had a huge jump the second time (likely from cheating), and bombed it the third time, so he went to Europe. If he had a #### GPA, the requirements for the ACT/SAT score aren't terribly forgiving (1010 SAT for a 2.0 GPA).I don't believe that.Brandon Jennings played in Europe for a year because he couldn't get into the University Of Arizona with a basketball scholarship offer.
As long as you aren't as dumb as Jennings, and can cheat on the test the first time (just like Derrick Rose), its not a problem.Interesting. I didn't realize places like the University of Arizona had any admission standards beyond, "if you can locate campus..."
In an interview with ESPN, Houston Rockets star James Harden said what many NBA players think about themselves.
Scoop: Bottom line, you are on this team and a lot of players aren't, but in your mind, who is the best basketball player alive right now?
Harden: Myself.
Scoop: That's what I was about to say, "including you." You made that sound like it was an easy answer.
Harden: It is. Myself.
Scoop: Then here's the question: Are you where you want to be basketball-wise, even if you are the best?
Harden: Nowhere near close. I've got a long way to go, a lot of learning to do, improvements to make. Um, you know, as long as I'm listening and focused on the right things, I can reach my potential.
Scoop: So in your mind, you haven't reached [your potential] yet?
Harden: Not even close.
I'd bet Jennings couldn't get accepted in the University of Phoenix.Interesting. I didn't realize places like the University of Arizona had any admission standards beyond, "if you can locate campus..."
He'd be close to the top if he'd play some defense. He's as strong of a scorer as there is outside of KD.As a brief interruption from Kobe bashing, how about that James Harden:

What about this one?Embiid put me off with that Portugal nonsense this summer, but having "Shmurda" in his twitter handle is winning me back. A little.
Little by little. Still greatly outweighed that he's apparently a Madridista.TobiasFunke said:What about this one?Good Posting Judge said:Embiid put me off with that Portugal nonsense this summer, but having "Shmurda" in his twitter handle is winning me back. A little.
It must have taken a lot of work to write all that out. Especially considering the underlining and italics. I don't have anything to add but I appreciate your effort.Discussion I'm having locally - should Dante Cunningham face league punishment even though his charges were dropped? Silver took an unprecedented step to remove an owner - should he also start trying to clean up player's off court activity? Note: the current CBA does not allow him to punish players, so this is more of a question of if this is something that should be incorporated into the next CBA.
In general, I think NBA players are relatively clean (partially because the NBA has chosen not to care about marijuana), but there have been some dark moments that were all magically dropped before trial. These have all happened within the last five years:
Lance Stephenson threw his girlfriend down some stairs; charges dropped; no suspension
Jordan Hill choked his girlfriend; entered a plea bargain; no suspension.
Andray Blatche has a solicitation and sexual assault charge; charges dropped; no suspension
DeAndre Liggins assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping; he's going to marry the victim - preparing to return to the NBA this season
Jared Sullinger assault charge dropped; no suspension
James Johnson beat up his wife, charges dropped; no suspension
Dante Cuningham arrested twice (choking assault and terroristic threats), charges dropped
I'm not getting much traction - the writer responses so far have been pretty much...charges dropped, nothing to see here. I just think there's too many of these cases that are conveniently dropped when the victim fails to appear in court or help the prosecution.
That's awesome. I just hope the play doesn't get traded out for a run of He Got Game, the Musical.Leeroy Jenkins said:Marbury is starring in a play. In china. Playing himself. Called I Was Marbury. It's about his championship season(s) in the Beijing league recently.

Unclear from his tweets, but I would guess Shved + Mbah a Moute + that 1st rounder (I've heard MIA pick from CLE, but also unclear). What does philly get?
Meh, Flip has said many times that he still wants to win this season, so it fits that narrative to give up a 1st (that they wouldn't have had anyway without the trade) to get Young.surprised that the wolves would give up a 1st
Then you're delusional. Who do you realistically think your team can get? Let's put Klay aside, what else is there to get?
Only thing I can think of is Bledsoe and one of Morris twins, but even that is not as good as getting a Waiters, Bennet, Tristan, Picks offer.
The wolves fans in here and their Love trade proposals are some of the most delusional posts I've seen yet in this thread.![]()
Did Datonn give all of you guys some of the crack he's using?
Definitely. Not sure what a max for LeBron is this summer, but at worst, the Cavs have to get rid of one or two of Bennett, Thompson or Varejao. Should be easy to do as all 3 contracts are either over or can be 'terminated' after this year. Much more realistic than most scenarios being tossed around IMO.Has anyone done the math to figure out if Cleveland could sign Lebron if they traded the #1 for Love? That's still my pet theory. "The Decision" was really Lebron deciding to let Cleveland reload while he collects some rings to secure his personal legacy, then he gets the big redemption story of coming back to his hometown to retire and save the franchise. Irving/Love/Lebron would be a hell of a big three.
And no, I don't think it really happens.
I'd disagree. Getting a first for a low end starting PF on a slightly high contract is a pretty good deal for Philly. Young just isn't that goodI knew the Sixers wouldn't get a lot for Thad but 2 expiring deals and probably a late 1st round pick seems pretty bad. Is there more value there than I'm giving them credit for?
And the pick will probably be late teens which isn't terrible. Or even higher if Wade gets hurt.I'd disagree. He's a nice player but teams are stingy with their first rounders. I think it's a pretty nice haul given the market.I probably overrate Young because he looked good compared to most of his teammates for the past few years. Sort of a tallest midget in the circus thing.
Plus, hes likely to opt out of his contract after this season.I'd disagree. Getting a first for a low end starting PF on a slightly high contract is a pretty good deal for Philly. Think so? I can't see him getting more than $10m as an FA.Plus, hes likely to opt out of his contract after this season.I'd disagree.
