*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (4 Viewers)

Looking forward to the 'Gic continuing to develop. They miss Vuc but as long as Ola continues to develop and Pey gets some reps at the point they should be k.

After a rough start to the year, Goran Dragic is averaging 22.2 points, 5.4 assists and shooting 58 percent in five games since Isaiah Thomas got hurt. Perhaps building a team around 3 point guards isn't really the best way to maximize everyone's abilities. Who knew?

Draymond Green is having a great half because the Bulls are leaving him to close-out hard on Curry.

Curry has only taken five shots (and made two).

Golden State, just wow. Quite impressive. They run and gun, but unlike most teams that play that way they also have a defensive presence. Especially, Bogut. It was obvious how little desire the Bulls perimeter players had in taking it at him, and took mid-range jumpers instead.

Bulls point-guards: 5-25 from the floor. Oof.

From league MVP to 4th best player on his own team by age 26.

The Derrick Rose Story.
4th?

Noah, Butler, Gasol, Gibson.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt over Gibson. Good argument for 5th but still shows enough glimpses of past play to make him an above league average player. Rose best chance to be a long term asset IMO is to more consistently play the role of PG. He does show flashes of that. He's just got to do it a lot more.

Probably won't be much longer when you can throw Mirotic on the list.

Hawks with a decent road win against the Heat. I've learned not to get my hopes up so my enthusiasm is tempered but I think they can challenge the Wizards for the division.
Explain to me how Jeff Teague is all of a sudden like a top-25 player in the NBA. That's what confusing me about the Hawks.

I'm happy about that because I drafted him in the WIS league, but still, didn't see this coming at all.

He's made improvement year over year and his stats aren't that much better than last year right now but forgetting just stats he's been outstanding so far this year. He's not as good of a shooter as he's been showing but his decision making has gotten better which means he's taking "easier" shots. And he runs the offense well. With Schroeder playing well it's allowed the team to reduce his minutes a little and keep him fresher.

Hawks were looking pretty good last season until Horford went out for the season. They also finally seem to have a competent coach in Coach Bud. He's using the Spurs model obviously. Lots of passing and good shooters. They aren't dependent on any one guy to get them points. They are still a piece away from being a serious challenger for the East but they are playing really well right now.

His raw stats aren't much better but his efficiency numbers have improved significantly, which fits with what you're saying.

The anti-Reggie Cleveland All-Star.

Kobe tied for the scoring lead at 25.2 per game!

Here are the FG% of the three players tied for the lead.

38.9%, 57.7% 41.1%.

Guess which player has which %.

Anthony Davis

James Harden

Kobe Bryant

The next player with a worse FG% than 39% is Kemba Walker. At #60.

ETA: 39% guy has a TS% of .489. 41% guy has a TS% of .582

I would go Davis,Harden and then Kobe.Kobe has been terrible from 3's so I think he's the lowest for sure.
Yeah, I don't think people realize just how bad Kobe's shooting and decisionmaking has been, statistically speaking. You could spend all day coming up with amazing evidence of how horrible he's been.

Here's one I just found: he's 14th in the league in three point attempts despite shooting 27.3% behind the arc. Only one other person in the top 20 in 3PAs is hitting less than a third of them, and it's a guy who shot 41% from three last year (Ryan Anderson). You have to go down to 40th in 3PAs to find someone else who is under 30% (Kemba Walker).

My personal favorite is where he ranks in FGA if you only count his misses. Was top 15 for a stretch.

so i was on Tyler this morning and there was a bit about Dwight Howard. I thought it was Mariah Carey talking about Howard. Turns out it was a different Carey.

brohans let me ask your seirous opinion the bucks are at five hondo which manes it is hard to tell if they are coming or going but if you if ask me they are a young team that rather than playing over there heads is actually losing some games they should win and hopefully will win as they get some more experience under there belt so i think that they do not fade but rather get a little bit and i mean just a little bit better as they season keeps going on what do you think take that to the bank brohans
