I've always said that the boy could use more confidence.

After the game last night Kerr was asked if in the moment he could appreciate the matchup between Curry and Lowry. He replied, "Not really. I prefer the matchups where Steph has a huge advantage."

That is a Popovich-level performance right there.
Kerr is awesome.
When Kerr was at U of Arizona, he once told the student newspaper the basketball team's New Year's Resolution was to help Lute Olson kick his heroin habit. Kerr got to visit a couple of bureaucrats' offices after that story ran.
On local radio, Kerr strongly implied that he has used this clip in a team meeting this year. (NSFW)

I like Kerr a lot so I won't make a joke about him and Jordan and overcoming his gag reflex.

The Hawks have played the league's second easiest schedule. They aren't anywhere near the second best team in the league.
Who exactly do you have ahead of them right now? Toronto, with whom they're even in the loss column, has played an even easier schedule and doesn't have a "holy ####" win since they beat Atlanta before Thanksgiving. Memphis, also tied in the loss column, has lost three in a row and has a worse point differential.

I'll give you Portland I guess, even though they got shellacked yesterday in Houston, a place where Atlanta cruised to an easy win on Saturday. But even so, that would put them third. I don't see anyone else in the mix right now. In a month or two, probably, and in April/May, almost certainly. But not right now, which is why I said "at the moment."
vs. Bulls, @Cavs, @Rockets, @Mavs, vs. Clippers on a back-to-back with travel ... 5-0. Most of 'em not close.

The 15-1 to win the East odds are long gone, but you can still get the San Antonio Spurs-Eastern Conference Edition at close to even money to win the Southeast (take it from me, they're miles better than the Wiz as of now) and maybe 7-1 to win the East.

shocking that the bucks are exactly in the middle brohan they are the definition of five hondo this year take that to the bank bromagios

I'm guessing Dalembert somehow ends up on the Cavs as an offshoot to this deal - depending on how all the exceptions work out.

Will wait for more details but hate the deal for Oklahoma.

Refuse to believe they'd deal Jackson for Waiters.
Probably assumed They wouldn't/couldn't pay Jackson next year so they get Waiters for another year at a lower price.
Yep likely the case.

I just don't see the benefit of an 'extra year of Waiters'. I don't even think he's worth the $5 mil he'll make next year personally. Not a fan at all.

Maybe OKC got a pick or something additional out of it.

EDIT: Just saw it's being reported Jackson not included in deal. Makes a bit more sense.

Something doesn't make sense about the deal, that's for sure. If the Cavs can get Shump and JR for just Waiters I think that's a good move for early January. When can they trade JR again?

Won't miss Waiters at all, but not sure I'm really excited about adding JR Smith.

More importantly, I'm not sure any deal that doesn't address the gaping hole in the middle is really going to make a positive difference.

Lebron playing with JR Smith and not killing him is going to be amazing.
If JR Smith is really going to Cleveland, watching that trainwreck will ALMOST ease the pain of LeBron leaving Miami. If the Cavs needed anything, it was another guy who could shoot, no need for a rim protector.

I was thinking Smith is way better beyond the arc than Waiters and Shumpert is a nice addition for defense. Long, athletic, perimeter defender....no? When healthy of course.

So they are done trading? Cavs have another trade or two in them for sure. I think it's safe to say Waiters was not bringing in this much needed rim protector.

Larry Sanders doesn't want to play basketball anymore, apparently. That's a bummer.
should be easy for him to find a better job.
brohans that guy is like a hondo miles of bad road what a terrible decision to sign him to a big contract i hope that they can unload him for anything and then find another good center the thing that stinks is that if he wanted it he could be a hell of player but he is a headcase what a tragedy take that to the bank

I do like the Shumpert part of it

The Cavs have liked Shumpert for a long time.

Incredible run they've been on. I've been a fan since the days of Dan Roundfield and Tree Rollins - this is the most confident I've ever been in the team. I'm so used to being an afterthought that it still doesn't seem possible they are playing this well. They aren't 18-2 good but they are relevant now which is fantastic for those of us who have suffered with mediocrity for so long.

Another opportunity to make a statement tonight by sweeping the season series from the Clippers.

David Blatt has to be questioning that God's Chosen People business about now
He should question who he's putting on the floor late in games. Saw way too much Price...unfortunately it wasn't Mark.

That was a classic whistle swallow by the refs at the end of a game, but the Cavs should never have been in that spot to begin with.

i do not like waiters not at cleveland not in okc not anywhere he just shoots all the time and is to out of control i do not care who you bring back in cle you just unloaded a bad fit take that to the bank bromigos
