Can't believe Lunardi had ASU comfortably in before this game today. No way this team should be in after today.

Two months ago I was certain the streak was coming to an end. IMO this is Self's greatest coaching achievement. How did he survive with only one legit big man? Mitch Lightfoot? Seriously. He just utilized Mitch Lightfoot to win the big 12... again. and again. and again. and again.

Jayhawks have serious talent and experience in the backcourt. Winning in the post season always starts with senior leadership in the backcourt for me. Hoping they make another run.

These things considered... They should be a 2 seed. Damn. I hate saying that.
Azubuike sprained his MCL in practice yesterday and will miss the Big XII Tournament.  Time to shine, Mitch Lightfoot.

Or start Garrett and go with the 5-guard lineup.  Run some team handball-esque spacing around the three-point line.

NC State has wins over UNC, Duke, Clemson, and Arizona.  They finished 5th in the ACC.  They are in the tournament.  Who do these guys think are all these teams that are going to get in are?
I was just as shocked as you but if BPI says out you have to defer to that.

How the hell is ND even in the discussion? I don't care if their player was hurt. Not like they were world beaters when he was healthy. One good win vs. Wichita. Need to get to acc semis to even have shot imo.

The end of that ASU-Colorado game...Colorado dribbling it out but shot clock/game clock off by 5 seconds. Instead of taking violation Colorado player dribbles to hoop and throws alley-oop which is successful. ASU player takes offense to player who dunked and knocks him down. Colorado coach comes running onto court and looks like he ruptures achilles. Video: https://twitter.com/kylefredrickson/status/971508576299638784

Andy Kennedy saying "Mark Fox is as good as there is in this business" almost made me choke on my guacamole. Two dance appearances in nine years, both first round losses. Has the SEC POTY, Yante Maten, and won't even sniff the tourney this year.

:lmao:

Baywhine is too busy whining to the refs about Chukwu's 4th foul that he forgets to take him out and now he fouls out with 16 minutes left.

Who else is excited for some MACTION today?  (no one)

Can't wait to watch my team totally blow it in the conference tournament and lose to lesser opposition, thus getting relegated to the NIT.

Akron's come-from-way-behind victory on Monday was good stuff. They're going to get buried tonight though.

I’d like to circle back to the “Kevin Stallings is a good coach” shtick.

I mean that is shtick right, because otherwise it’s a pretty ####### dumb statement.
Stallings won at Illinois State and had some winning teams at Vanderbilt.  But wow, his two years at Pitt are historically bad for a major conference member.

IIRC, Stallings left Vandy because of static from fans and alumni about early NCAA Tournament exits.  He had a few first-round losses as a 4-5 seed there.  But overall he was doing pretty good for a program getting outspent by every other member of their conference.

The same static that drove Dixon from Pitt.  Ah, the good old days when losing in the Tournament was unacceptable.

It's been an odd year overall.  Some of the usual contenders - Kent State, Central Michigan, Ohio, Akron - had down years and some of the traditional middle/bottom teams like Toledo and Eastern Michigan have been pretty good.  This season has to be an utter disappointment for Western Michigan.  Consensus pick to win the conference by all the pundits, finishes 6th in regular season play and gets bounced in the first round by Akron.

Either way, I'm excited to see how the Bulls handle being the favorite.  This is by far the best team the school has ever had, better than Bobby Hurley's 14-15 team that was a 12-seed and better than the 15-16 team that was a 14.  They're the 4th team in MAC history to win 15 conference games and this is their first #1 seed in the conference tournament and first regular season title.  On paper, they are absolutely the best team in this conference.  But you never know when you get to Cleveland.  I'm fully expecting them to put up a clunker in one of these 3 games and blow it.

Bulls squander an 11-point 2nd half lead and let Central Michigan get within 77-74 before ending on a 12-0 run to cap it 89-74.  Survive and advance.

TCU hits a three at the buzzer to tie KSU and send it to OT.

KSU missed a FT with 4 or 5 seconds left and let TCU dribble it up court without fouling.

I dont see how they overturned that call. They must have had better angles than we did.

TCU should have been given back their timeout. That was kind of crappy.

And what a choke on the FT line there.

Collin Sexton hits a floater at the buzzer to give Bama the win over A&M. Announcers think it puts Bama in, but I suspect they need to do more.

The SECN guys seem a little too optimistic about SEC teams' tourney chances. They were talking about Georgia getting in with a couple of wins last night.

Agreed. Other than Auburn, it just kinda seemed like the middle of the conference just got like 1 more win a piece because UK and Florida didn't roll through the conference with 2 or 3 losses like usual.

I do think the league is better but I don't see how it's a 10 bid league all of a sudden.

Watching the post game interview with Lamar Peters of MSU was interesting.  Get the feeling the dude is going to be a coach one day.

Why is Lunardi shooting hostage videos in his hotel room and not in the studio? When the hell else do they need this guy?

M.Tennssee St. could end up stealing an at large after losing tonight.

ETA: It was a bad loss though
