On to Monday night...small quick guards have hurt UK all season. Kentucky's guards should be able to score, but I don't know if they can keep UConn's from scoring at will. UK needs to limit the turnovers and should dominate the boards. If they shoot it half way decent and/or get the UConn guards in foul trouble, I feel pretty good about it...

Good thing the Heat didn't play tonight too...Seeing Drake in the UK locker room makes me feel better about not liking his music.Calipari is the logical extreme of an inherently absurd (and morally bankrupt) system.UK is everything that's wrong with College Basketball.
I would have rather lost to Illinois or Minnesota.
I just don't like Kentucky because their fans are jerk-offs.

I wouldn't be sure the scoring will come that easily. Those are some pesky little ####ers at the top of the key on UConn.
Unlimited talent but to get through those four games as close as they were requires a lot of luck too.

no doubt, and they are playing fantastic defense. but the UK guards don't penetrate around people like Wilbekin tried to tonight, they drive at angles and go over the top. will be an interesting matchup.

As a Connecticut fan, the good news is that UK really doesn't seem to have much of an idea as to how to execute on offense. In terms of basketball IQ, they're pretty far down the ladder. And the Squid is not a good in-game coach.

Florida had their shot tonight. Games are played on the court, yadda yadda.
It all comes around. Both Connecticut and Kentucky have been bounced by "inferior" teams over the last decade. And both, despite ups and downs during the regular season, are playing out of their minds right now.

Welp. It was a run. I tell you what, Wisconsin showed the world that it isn't Princeton. This is a damn good team that will be top 5 next year.
I wish it didn't end here but hats off to Kentucky and a well played game.

except you forgot about Mercer and Kentucky
I got 67 out of the 68 teams correct (missed NC State had SMU in)
Kentucky and UCONN I had rated 22 and 23 on the S-curve both as 6 seeds
Kentucky what an amazing 4 game run to win 4 straight games that all went down to the final seconds.

I think this is one of those things that people hear and then it gets repeated until it's assumed to be true. Calipari doesn't get his teams this far only by being a master recruiter. It's not like he says "Go get 'em!" to the team then heads to the nearest bar for two hours.
Also, in Kentucky's last four wins in this very tournament, they have been leading at halftime in exactly zero of them. He makes adjustments.

I'll admit, I think Kentucky might have too much for us to handle.
But I'd love to be in room when Shifty (Calhoun) and Ollie get to talk and get down to business. Heck, Ollie's so on top of it, Shifty might just have been in his hotel room, eating greens and drinking NutriBullet per Pat's command. Could be interesting. Only thing I've seen out of Ollie I'd like is for him to work the refs more, or Calhoun's going to have to tromp down out of the stands and look like he's about to wring someone's neck.
We got a good coach; now what's left is the gem recruiting that Calhoun always seemed to pull out of his posterior to get guys to go to Storrs.

Tired of all the 8 vs. 7 talk. Not to take anything away from UConn, but there's no way they're running that gauntlet.
Wichita vs. KY may have been the National Title game, back in the round of 32. Embarrassing for the tourney, IMO.
This is not to say that UConn won't beat KY and deserve it. Guard play is sick in the tourney, and we've downed some great guard teams.

Should be a great game on Monday as each team has strengths against weaknesses of the other. Kentucky struggles against backcourts like UConn rolls out while UConn's great defense has one major flaw which is giving up offensive rebounds (a major Kentucky strength).
Both teams seems to make and give up a lot of runs but you could say that about almost every team job college hoops.

Not sure what the committee had against the AAC. I was shocked UCONN got a 7 after making it to the AAC finals. SMU was a very good basketball team.

This run is really going to help recruiting. UCONN is not going away as a power in basketball despite being in the AAC. Ollie is a young guy, with NBA experience, and his players love him. UCONN consistently gets players drafted in the NBA, and not just the blue chip 5 star recruits.
I just wish the football team could enjoy 1/80th of the basketball team.

That Wichita St. and Louisville got utterly screwed in their seeding by having to face KY as early as they did. If not KY/Wichita, then Louisville/Wichita.
The Committee blanked on the AAC. There's just no doubt. Cincinnati, the regular season champion, vs. Harvard? Come the eff on.
It was the Big East that should have been downgraded. They stank the house.
UConn's had a great run -- who's to deny that? -- but no way they run the gauntlet KY did. They lost to L'ville three times. By decisive margins and levels of play.
And I'm a huge, huge UConn fan.

I was a little rude before. My experience is that teams that either win the NIT or finish second are at least top twenty-five-thirty-five teams at the end of the year, in my experience watching college basketball.
Because:
a) they're good
b) they want it when nothing is on the line but pride

What does that have to do with anything? Outside of Louisville and SMU, they are 30-3 this year. Maybe they were just bad match ups or Pitino and Larry Brown are kinda good coaches?

Great coaches. Great point. What can I say? Florida/UK was a bad match-up, apparently. We beat Florida worse than St. Joe's.
But you can't have that Wichita bracket. Just can't. Would love to be playing Wichita right now, if just for the story.

Well, I think most of the talk about UK's run came before UConn took out Florida.
You also have to consider that those last 4 teams UK beat played tremendous basketball games. One could argue that Florida had an off night -- they missed a TON of good looks. Plus Nova was probably over-seeded (I don't think anybody outside Nova really thought they could win it all) and Iowa State had one of their best players out.
