NE looks unbeatable to me. (1 Viewer)

He is beating the press better now than he has ever done in his career.
I've heard this comment made by analysts for the networks (and their websites). They are surprised at how well Moss is at shaking the bump. He's obviously worked at this, I'm sure at the behest of Belichick. And people call Moss lazy.

Every time I start to think this Pats team won’t go 16-0, barring injury, I have to ask myself, if the Pats fall behind in any game this year, how much time do they really need to score the go ahead points? This team can pretty much score at will it seams, and they can do so very quickly.

If there's any team ever in history that was due for a letdown, it's this week's Patriots vs. my Browns. Romeo knows the Pat's tendencies, and if he plays his cards right, can get the team up for the "us vs. the world" angle. Anderson is getting more comfortable with the offense; it's a question of whether the defense can bend and not break.

Of course I'm not anticipating it, but they are due for a letdown. And absolutely NO ONE will be giving the Browns a chance. Which is usually when these things occur.

There were only 2 times when I noticed Moss singled up in coverage all game... both were TD catches.
Actually he had double coverage on the second TD, but the safety made one of the worst attempts at pass coverage I've ever seen during an NFL play.end nitpick

Great offense, great defense, great QB, great coach, great organization. God I hate the Patriots. Unless the Colts can keep winning and somehow hope NE takes a couple of losses, the Super Bowl goes through Foxboro. I'm sorry to say this, but the Colts won't beat NE in Foxboro this year, and they may not beat them in Indy. Go Pittsburgh !!! I hope NE draws Pittsburgh before Indy does.

What's most impressive about the Patriots to me is their ability to manage the salary cap, and everyone they bring in produces. It just goes to show you that the most important thing for success starts at the top and is a mind set. Whoever goes to NE is a better player after they arrive than they were before. As much as I hate Belichick, you have to be impressed with how he is able to generate an overall attitude that is team first, even from guys who were "me first" before.

As much as I love the Colts for being a great organization, you can't ignore how well the Patriots are managed. If I was an owner of a team I would do everything possible to mimic the Patriots (except cheating). If that means bringing in consultants and other professionals to tell me what I'm doing wrong, then so be it.
IMHO Tom Brady is making all these coaches look good.Belichick had a losing career record without Tom Brady. In 2001 they started 0-2 and many people thought they were the worst team in the league(they were double digit home underdogs in week 3). Then Tom Brady came in and changed everything.

How has Charlie Weis, the offensive genius, looked without Brady?

 It was a 7 man blitz with 4 receivers and 4 men in coverage all singled up in man, no? I thought the S had TE responsibility and rolled there.

All this talk reminds me of when I scored 8 TDs in the first quarter... against my son's POP-warner team...

No denying that the Pats look very good, but quality has to be judged in light of competition, and when you take off your Patriot-goggles, you notice that the competition hasn't been great. Last night alone the Bengal-LBs looked like a M.A.S.H unit. The choice was either play their DBs and not put any pressure on Brady at all and open up the rushing lanes WIDE, or play your DL and leave yourself wide open for an air-assault. Not to mention that when you don't have the LBs in place it's pretty easy to see what kind of defense is in front of you. Heck, you don't even need cameras for that one!

Nope. Watch the play again. The safety is lined up directly across from Moss about 15 yards deep. On the snap he jogs about 5 yards in towards Moss, at which point Moss is running right by him (after beating the pathetic bump attempt by the CB at the line), after which the safety jumps in the air waiving his arms watching the ball go directly over his head, into Moss's hands in the endzone. Pathetic. Why do I know this? That TD cost me my game this week and I was watching that play (and subsequent replays) very intently after I had called nearly exactly what was about to happen (I actually thought the safety would bite on a play fake, rather than just being a complete drooler at pass coverage). :hot:

Need to see more. They're playing great, but they aren't statistically that much better then a handful of other teams and they've faced VERY light competition, all things considered.

Statistics aren't the whole story here. They're making wining football games look as easy as falling out of bed right now. They aren't even breaking a sweat.

 They have just been taking it easy on offense right now. Imagine what this offense will look like when someone plays them close and they need to move the ball quickly and score. Brady has proved to be the master of the quick game-winning drive... and that was BEFORE he had this team around him. The offense is likely firing on 4 of 6 cylinders rgiht now and the Defense is only going to get (much) better. I don't think they'll go undefeated, but frankly I have a hard time figuring out who can beat them. It won't be dallas.... they could post 60 points against that Cowboys defense if they wanted.
