When you Patriots fans acquired Randy Moss you hardly knew that what you had just picked up was a severe case of colon cancer. This guy will rot your team from the inside out, and his tumorous growth has already started. It will only get worse. Jaworski says he's dissapointed in Moss and saw him taking plays off against the Eagles when things weren't so rosey for the Patriots.

Why would anyone be suprised? Thats Moss. You are not going to change at 30 years of age what you have been doing your whole career.

I'd love to have a slacker on my team on pace for 1600-23......

Moss played in 71 of 73 offenseive snaps (and IIRC a couple on defense). I have never figured out why people get so bent out of shape for players supposedly not hustling on quick plays to the opposite side of the field. So what? Sure, even I noticed that Moss did not sprint out on plays where Welker had a pop pass on the other side of the line. It's not like Moss is the only WR in the league that does this. IMO, Jaworski is only looking to stir the pot and try to nitpick the Patriots offense to come up with something negative to talk about. I guess NE should take Moss off the field for him to get a rest instead of having him lineup and automatically draw double coverage and free up the other receivers.

:lmao: thanks for the voice of reason.

Moss had no chance Sunday night. I totally blanketed him with double coverage and frustrated him. It was as if I cast an invisible shield over him and Brady had no idea he was even lined up. Catchless in the 2nd half gave me the 2 point victory. THAT is how you coach FF. It's a 24 x 7 gig. :lmao:

True but that's why I msyelf will never be a true Randy Moss fan. I don't admire plays with just pure talent, I like players who work and play with sweat and tears. How many plays do you think Wes Welker took off that night or any night?

I'm not a hater and I think Jaws is definitely nitpicking. But I'll be interested to see if Moss goes back to his old cold weather game routine soon: running routes at a leisurely jog with his hands inside that fanny pack hand warmer thingy.

You know he will. It's been a vacation so far for Moss. When you put a hit on him in the cold we'll see how much smiling he does. I guarantee he'll get a case of alligator arms and dragon butt just like he had against the Eagles.

methinks someone got his ### handed to him by a team starting moss this year. cough up the sour grapes, fella. far as i'm concerned, moss can take a play or two off if he keep up his sick TD/yardage pace.

Not a Moss fan here but I can't think of a bigger jack### than Jaws .... unless of course it that nimrod cornholer that sits next to him in the booth on Monday nights.

The TrollTool™ is at it again and you guys are biting

We'll see how many plays moss takes off Monday Night....

Moss 7 / 120 / 1 or better.... guaranteed.

I'm glad this was brought up, because I was thinking the same thing about Moss during the game on Sunday night. It wasn't necessarily about quick pop plays that went to the other side of the field, but it was just his demeanor in general. He just seemed so lackadasical when it became apparent that he wasn't going to have a huge game and this wasn't going to be another Patriot route of an opponent.

Probably nothing to pay much attention to, but it will be if it happens in a playoff game.

Moss' entire reason for wanitng to be in NE is to win a Super Bowl ring. He's had a HOF career and has posted some of the greatest single seasons by WRs in NFL history.... but he's never had as good a shot at that ring as he does this year. You guys are INSANE if you think he's going to take it easy in key games in the playoffs.

does anyone else ever get dman and colin confused?

sometimes i read through the post and think "wow, that' really out of character for colin" before realizing that it's dman.

I get Dman confused with his 3 other alias accounts that he uses to post anti-Patriot crap.

If Moss is really slacking, and he's still putting up big numbers, then the difference between his vastly different performances in New England and Oakland must be Tom Brady. Thanks for pointing it out, dman. It just goes to show you that Brady's the best quarterback in football.

Wow, your hate for anything Patriots runs deeper than I thought. That can't be healthy.

DMan30 is a sad, jealous person. DMan, who do you root for that makes you so angry? I've asked you twice now and you don't answer.

i havent seen every pats game this yr, but maybe that pop jr reed laid on moss reminded him of how you can get your clock cleaned over the middle of the field. i dont remember seeing him catch a ball or even have one thrown to him inside the hashmarks the rest of that night. the guy is a uber talent, but i think we can all agree that he doesnt exactly like running those patterns, and just maybe that hit reminded him of that fact.

FWIW

FOXBOROUGH -- Ravens head coach Brian Billick was serving as Vikings offensive coordinator in 1998 when Randy Moss was a rookie on that club.

On a conference call with New England reporters today, Billick was asked if he sees the same Moss today that he remembers from '98.

"Obviously, I had a huge affection for Randy. We throw the term 'superstar' and 'unique' around too flippantly for my liking -- those are unique terms. And he's as unique a player that has ever been in this game. I had him when he was just a puppy and he was great to be around. I really enjoyed Randy. You just saw greatness written all over him. And obviously then I tracked him through his trials and tribulations. I'm happy for Randy, I'm happy for him to have found a place with an organization and a quarterback like Tom Brady that hopefully can allow him to exhibit his talents and allow him to stay focused on his talents and remove some of the noise that has followed him throughout the years because he's deserving of having the success that he's had, and not being looked in any other light than that of a great player."

Billick was then asked if agrees with ESPN "Monday Night Football" analyst Ron Jaworski that Moss took some plays off Sunday night against Eagles, specifically those on the backside.

"[Laughs] I'm looking at a Patriots offense that is about to just zoom past that '98 offense that I had that holds the all-time scoring record. No, this team is running at a high level of efficiency. I think that type of thing is overblown," Billick said.

"If you chose to take a Polaroid snapshot of any player at any given time, you could probably find an instance that a player was maybe not 100 percent focused or coming off the ball. This is a tough, physical game. If you choose to isolate those things, I'm sure you could find it. I don't put much credence in that."

He signed a reasonable one year contract. If their is a problem I am sure he will be gone.

Nice! Whenever Moss was called out by national media while with the Vikes he was good for a couple 3 TD games. Thanks Jaws!

Patiently waiting for the Billick-bashers to arrive. :)

I don't disagree with your opinion that Moss has his best shot at a ring this season. All while I'm sure he'd like a ring, I'm pretty sure he doesn't care all that much about one, but more about being back in the spotlight as one of the games best WR's. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's an anti-team player but rather just pro-himself. It's all masked in New England by the fact that he's both winning and putting up monster numbers so, to date, there's nothing for him to whine about. But more to my point, is it really that INSANE to consider Moss "taking it easy" in a key playoff game? If you think so, then I'm assuming you didn't happen to catch him quit on the Vikings early in their playoff game against the Giants in 2000. He was the epitome of "taking it easy" and quitting on his team. To think he's not capable of it again is foolish.ETA: I'll admit that the liklihood of Moss laying down during a game while playing for the Pats is minimal, because if it does, he won't be a member of that organization very long.

Gotta love ESPN and their fleet of yay-hoos for yet another example stellar reporting. This is as much news as OJ. Randy takes plays off. Water is wet. Women ask questions.

If anybody on this board think the Pats can't win a superbowl without Moss, then they just don't know football.

Meanwhile, I'm not complaining about the production.

Yeah, Moss didn't work hard at all to become the most talented receiver in the NFL.

:X

At a certain point some FBG's just have to admit they were incorrect about Randy Moss as a Patriot. This may be their last chance to get some shots in, so why not?

As great as Tom Brady has been this year (all-world) Randy Moss is the NFL MVP right now. Note: I don't expect it to go that way, that is just what I believe.

Since you guarantee this, I will make sure I bench the guy in favor of someone else. :goodposting:

you're not gonna find a guy doing what Jaws does who studies more game tape.that's what i always hear/read about the guy.

I find it funny that DMan's avatar is Moe. It's funny cause DMan is way more pathetic than Moe is in the Simpsons and Moe is a character who was developed to be pathetic.

Interesting that a guy who is purported to be incredibly intelligent would misuse the word unique so badly. News flash Brian, there are not levels of uniqueness. You're either unique or you're not.
