Net neutrality - can anybody explain to me why anyone but large corporations would possibly support this? (1 Viewer)

I vaguely remember when the FCC did this, reading that the Senate would be able to reverse it--just the Senate--with no House or White House approval necessary.
I believe the Senate can take it up and start the ball rolling on reversal without needing the approval of the Majority Leader to get it to the floor and without being subject to the 60 vote cloture requirement- that might be what you're thinking of?  Still have to get the House and the president (or a veto override) though. link

Ahhh, gotcha.  Thanks.

An easy way to let your House Representatives know your feelings on this now while it might impact their thinking:

I just called my Representative in the House, Rep. David McKinley (R) WV 1st. I used elements from your link. I received a "thank you for your input" from the voice on the other end.

I have called my US Senators and Reps before, and each time they wanted to know my name and residence.  This guy was just satisfied that my area code was fine.

California set to make a great precedent succumbs to money from AT&T. Thanks California Democrats.

Since Net Neutrality is not a law, can the next presidents FCC roll it back and/or Congress make it law? Its dependent on Congress overall but ### #### is this stuff sickening as well.

Miguel Santiago, that's your dude tearing up your net neutrality California. Feel free to contact him (916) 319-2053, I've heard nobody's been answering anyways.

"Santiago, who has received more than $29,000 from major telecom providers this election cycle, including AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon, added amendments watering down S.B. 822 during a hearing before the Assembly’s Communication and Conveyance Committee Wednesday morning—a move that was characterized by many of the bill’s supporters as “undemocratic.”"

California signed into law a bill protecting Net Neutrality.

Then, Trump's FCC sues California.

State's Rights... right?

Don't worry, there will be strong bipartisan support for California. Imagine how awkward it would be if the Republicans were found out to be hypocrites about their support for states rights, surely their base would turn on them.
